I am probably one of the more lucky immigrants as my parents were able to get a greencard sponsorship by their employer and a regular h1 visa, so that we could relocate to america. I was only 5 when I got my citizenship, but I can't imagine how much more difficult the process would be nowadays

Very nice conversation. Canada has opportunities for those who are capable to grab it. I was in real estate developments for 6 years during 2011-2018 started with $80k down payment. Until I build my 4000sqft home in Bluffs area in Toronto built few houses. It was a stressful time for many incidents. Dealing with City, contractors, finances is very delicate. All it needed patience and hard working to overcome the every challenges. When I ended up the trade after building my house during the pandamic using all the gains around $1.6m from the houses that I have built and sold. I realized I made $4m which is worth my mortgage free house. So, it is a journey from $80k to $4m in 8 years.. I witnessed many immigrants from South Asia got involved in the real estate construction and many has made few million dollars..\n\nTherefore, I would say to the new generation. Do not give up your hope but make sure you work hard and look for opportunities though it has become hard during these days..

Why do South Americans don’t use this type of energy and take back the beautiful country from their weak president? I just don’t understand. In every country, the people stand and fight for it. This is why I'm very adamant on my dreams to work in the US. I'm a US citizen because I was born there when my dad went to school for his doctorate degree. I feel very lucky to have that, and that is why I have a dream to live and work there. I know applying for a residence and work permit is a very difficult process to do. I would feel very stupid not to take this chance to live and work in the US.\nAfter a few setbacks of me not being able to go to college there (my parents wouldn't let me because they're not sure of letting me living alone there even though we have a relative there), my parents finally let me go there for work. I just now finished my masters degree, I hope I can make it there as well.

Given that the housing market in Vancouver and Toronto areas is not quite affordable for an average engineer, what would you suggest for a guy like me in terms of profession/career after moving to Canada. My university degrees, professional qualification (P. Eng license) as well as my passport is already Canadian.

I visited Florida a few months ago with my friends for vacation. I could not relax fully the entire time there. I would never even consider it... any country that could elect Trump is not a place I could ever live. I refused to even visit while he was president. The gun culture is terrifying. The health care system seems unaffordable. I might visit again someday, but not to the southern states where women's rights seem to be going down the toilet...I love Canada!

We recently drove to my daughter’s cottage in Montana. We live in BC. She and her family live in Alberta. Another couple, two doctors, was joining us for the weekend. We got lost and they did too. Not a problem, we all arrived eventually. They commented that they did not feel that they could go to someone’s house and ask for directions. We agreed and felt the same thing. In Canada that would absolutely not be the case.
