I was interested in leaving my country (Ireland), because of our housing crisis, and a growing disillusion with my government for prioritising housing everyone but the hardworking saps. I was considering Canada, until I researched it. Seems like we're in similar situations.

Our government looks after immigrants BETTER than its own CITIZENS! ????\nFor ex. ppl who have been homeless for yrs R sleeping on the street, in tents, parks, cars etc. They receive NO help! \nYET IMMIGRANTS R getting into shelters! Like WTF?!! ? Some arrived here (in summer) with NO housing (which is ASS BACKWARDS ~ Y R U bringing ppl here when there R NO places for US to live let alone immigrants??!!) & they were sleeping in the streets/parks. Our Govt moved mountains to find THEM shelters in relatively record time but have done NOTHING to help CANADIANS who R ALREADY homeless (A LOT of them R homeless bc of cost of housing & NOT ALCOHOL/DRUG ABUSE!) Most ppl assume it’s bc of drug addiction. It’s NOT! \nU can be employed making a ‘relatively’ decent wage & yet U R 1 step away from being homeless ESP NOW & esp with greedy landlords!!!) \n\nSince WHEN did it become acceptable to neglect the countries REAL CITIZENS & focus solely on Immigrants? ?? \nThis is just ONE example. I came as an immigrant 25 years ago. I live in Vancouver and I'd say that social isolation is big problem here. Most of my neighbours first language is something other than English and most don't speak English at all, which makes it practically impossible to ever get to know each other in any meaningful way. The way it works out is that people then get into their own ethnic groupings and eventually their children will speak fluent English and then there is some integration. But that takes a whole generation. Canada is being swamped at the moment and just how it will all work out remains to be seen.

After living 4 years in Canada, meeting my lovely wife there, and saving money, we returned to Mexico. Now we live in Playa del Carmen. Best decision ever; we opened a little restaurant and we are doing great. Best decision ever. Canada is becoming a medieval society with a handful of Masters and 99% servs.

Canada and the US only became FAR more developed in the 20th Century compared to all other countries because of their geographic location. They were able to develop with all the wisdom and knowledge of the Old Continents (Africa, Asia, and Europe) but without their total wars and upheavals to fuck things up. Canada and the US got two centuries of unmolested development. So as the rest of the world catches up, we come to realize just how mediocre Canada has always been. We're a less competitive people. housing crisis only happens in Vancouver and Toronto. Those immigrants who landed in other provinces will eventually move to these two cities, why? Because there are not much job opportunities in small towns. These immigrants smuggled money to Canada and bought more houses than they actually need, then rent out, hire unethical accountants to evade tax. It is hard to cheat on tax by earning hourly wage, so not only the tax payers have to feed the methheads, criminals, Trudeau, but also they have to feed those people who make money solely on real estate

i'm watching this while booking overtime because I can't make it on 40 hours a week. Its a real problem. Government waste abounds, Aboriginals just got a 23 billion payout this year. While laudable, Canada can't afford this largesse. any longer.Crime is so rampant, over a billion in stolen cars were shipped overseas from Canada. International crime syndicates have taken the Canadian government for hundreds of millions in the last year in tax fraud schemes.

Prioritization of patient is followed universally, not in Canada only. Even in india if doctor has patient with heart attack and you bring your baby with arm fracture, then doctor will give priority to heart attack patient.

BC is the most expensive place to live in Canada, I don't think that immigrants are doing their homework when choosing what province to live before they arrive to Canada. You don't move to the most expensive province from another country to the high cost of living and lest you can afford it before hand.

Good solid takes on life in Canada as it stands in the larger cities. My family immigrated in the late 80s when I was a young child to YYZ and the housing prices and quality of living was really solid back then. We moved to YVR in the late 90s and prices seemed to be pretty stable as well. Think things started to change shortly after my undergrad years in the mid 2000s. Unfortunately, the government wanted to increase immigration which is great, but forgot to build out the transportation infrastructure and develop the health care system properly. Foreign credential recognition is really the biggest bottleneck for newcomers. Newcomer employment expectations and what is available to them is not really matching up, I know this first hand as I've worked in the employment enabling sector. Weather as you mentioned is subjective, I prefer the cold, clean crisp air here in Canada, I don't do well in the hot humid polluted weather in most East and Southeast Asian countries. Crime has definitely been on the rise as many people around me have had personal experiences with this topic. Finally housing, to live comfortably in YVR a family income of 150K is probably bare minimum these days.

Hard to make friends in communism country like Canada

I'm leaving because I want to start a family and Canadian women are giant zeros for starting families. I have dated too many women in this country, it's crazy, I never thought I'd be that guy but I cannot find a decent woman I'd marry here. 50% of the women are infertile or have uterus problems. 35% are on SSRI's or psyche meds. I'm only dating fit decent looking women, and the pool here isn't that big because so many women are obese and refuse to exercise or eat properly. The weather is terrible too. The politics are awful too. It's become so expensive. The tax money is wasted, you get very little value for your taxes. Canada feels like a slave colony that they stuff gullible immigrants into, and hope they can trap them.
