Canadian (Albertan here) - yes, i don't think i'd move to the States unless it was reasonably close (maybe Montana) with fewer people - i'd like to identify as a Hermit :). I motorcycle and have travelled majority of the States, from coast to coast, and i really do like the country side and scenery, and history, that you run through. I do a 4000-6000 mile tripe every year or two - did Tennessee last year, and Colorado this summer. A lot of absolutely amazing country really, and yes some really great people as well. Have run into some real odd people as well and some places i wanted to get out of pretty quick. I do like the fact the US hasn't bought into this woke agenda and politically correctness - it's absolutely nuts up here. I like the gun laws in the States, too bad we're so screwed over that in Canada. Gotta love Trump - may be a bit of a bozo but hey - the guy lays it out and owns his shit, every other polititician plays the blame game and does everything politically correct... End of day, i'd prefer to stay in Canada, either Alberta or British Columbia.

I would never even consider it... any country that could elect Trump is not a place I could ever live. I refused to even visit while he was president. The gun culture is terrifying. The health care system seems unaffordable. I might visit again someday, but not to the southern states where women's rights seem to be going down the toilet...I love Canada!

Canada is not the only county seeing this, and the US not the only country turning it's back on the benifits of immigration. You could have made the exact same video about Ireland vs the UK (except wages in Ireland are far high rather than lower than the UK) Here in Ireland we have long benefitted a great level of immigration fuelling rapid economic growth but since 2016 with Brexit, Trump ect. making it clear that immigrents aren't welcome in some other counrties we have seen a whole new type of immigrent from countries like Mexico where recent graduates seaking work experence in English pick Ireland rather than the US or UK as we have a better immigration system but also a culture which welcomes immigration as an endorcment of our country. Here the more you are proud of you country and culture the more you go out of your way to welcome immigrents who are the living embodyment of your belief that we are the greatest counrty in the world, not the welcome immigrents can expect from nationalists in the US or UK. The big winners here are countries like Canada & Ireland who have recognised that in the 21st Century it's not coal, iron or even oil that brings wealth but rather being able to attract the best & brightest talent in the world.

All I can say as a Canadian is why would anyone want to move to the USA.The more I learn the more I love where I live the USA is a hot mess and watching the kind of people that you elect is mind boggling . Why would anyone support a bottom feeder like Donald Trump to run their country. You don't have to be a scholar to realize this man is beyond corrupt and a really bad person. US - the problem is when there are obvious problems you have a system that allows big money into politics, which allows for lobbying, which in my opinion is legal bribery. The idea that politicians had ( or have ) NRA ratings for supporting openly guns and not implementing the most logical of common sense gun control. \nHealthcare - in Canada, not having the healthcare tied to your employer actually makes Canadians a more free country. There are a lot of Canadians in the arts ( musicians, painters etc. ) that have the freedom to pursue any employment that wish, and not worry about the health benefits. \nIt kind of surprises me that you were surprised about school shootings. From what we see, that is not happening all in big cities. Sandy Hook was the worst. To think that Congress didn't do a thing after that, is reason enough not to want to move there.\nAnd Donald Trump has soured my wanting to ever even go there on holiday. I lived in the US; Virginia for 13 years. For the most part the people are lovely... just like a lot of places. If you treat people with kindness; they usually return that kindness. At least that is my experience. Mind you, I came home in 2006. When I lived there the political climate was completely different. I would absolutely NOT move back to the US. When I came home to Canada; I was so grateful because I had to endure 2 years without Healthcare when I really needed it. I lived on pain pills at that time. I was in a wheelchair by 2008 and so grateful that I was home where my country took care of me when I was unable to work, or even walk. \n\nPolitics has changed so much since then. It was always kind of poler, but when Donald Trump entered the scene; it has become just awful. Again, I love the Americans for the most part, however there is so much racism, homophobia and hate displayed in the country right now. I pray every day that Donald Trump does not become president again. I fear for the United States. I love her as a sister to Canada; she is. I want her people safe...

We have McDonalds and Starbucks here in Canada, even in small towns PLUS we have Tim Hortons everywhere! I have lived in both countries and much prefer Canada. The very idea of another Trump presidency makes me literally ill. In Alberta our healthcare is free, no monthly payment and there is affordable drug coverage both through private and provincial government provided. The Canadian education system is far superior.

I'd be hard pressed to move to USA cuz your medical system prices, wages are less and so many people in a much smaller landscape. Id go for your constitution (1A, 2A) absolutely but Biden is a BIG turnoff for sure, your housing is way cheaper, your taxes are cheaper but... in Canada there is way more space where you can go and not see anybody besides moving to Northern Alaska, Montana or North Dakota. There are PROS and CONS to living in USA/Canada but I would move for dual citizenship and if I had guaranteed medical coverage but still keep a place in Canada to escape back to in case your country imploded under your current government or if I needed medical attention. It would be way better if you had a normal POTUS like Trump imo. Your money is at least worth the face value on the dollar bill... Cdn cash is like worth 50 cents US... we are like a peso currently.

My parents were snowbirds for decades. At the end of their stay, they owned a small place in Safford, AZ. I spent all my vacations wherever they were, Texas, other parts of Arizona. I loved exploring the US with them - Dodge City, KS, Tombstone, Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Capital Reef, Gila Cliff Dwellings, to name just a few. Multiple National Parks over their 30 years of winter stays. \n\nThe US is beautiful and steeped in history. We met some really nice people, and even loved a few of them (but not in a weird way).\n\nMy parents sold their place just before Trump became president (on purpose), and none of us have been back since.\n\nDon’t get me wrong, we have our share of ignorant and uneducated people, but most of ours don’t have guns. \n\nAnyways, I digress. Never, not once did we ever consider becoming American Citizens. Especially since Trump (OMG).\n\nWe love our country, even though it’s not perfect. We love our health care, such as it is currently.\n\nIn memory of Gene of Tory, AZ, a family friend, who was like a brother to all of us who knew him, who died too young because he refused to give up his children’s small inheritance to your healthcare system. \n\nEven though there is darkness, there is still greatness in your country. I grew on the border of Ontario and Northern New York State and have spent lots of time with people from the Southern United States and generally the people are very polite, on the surface. Unfortunately, as you get to know people you find out that many have some serious biased opinions on things that we in Canada have always been more accepting of. The last few years it’s been sad to see these views start spreading to our beautiful country. After Donald Trump and the rise of right wing conspirators the US is the last place I would want to live.

A Trump would be impossible up here. We elect a party not a leader. One non-confidence in parliament and our Vice Regent, the Governor General would inform the King and parliament would be closed for a new election. We also have no ridiculous nearly 250-year-old Constitution. Our Consitution is based upon the British North American Act. We can revise it anytime with the Governor General's permission (and the King's). We are a peaceful nation and do not think like Americans. But I'd travel in the North East US. I ‘ve met so many Americans on trips and through living in San Francisco for 3 months for a course. They were very kind, thoughtful and knowledgeable people. I also love many beautiful places in the States. I find though, that the media ignores Canada to a great degree only reporting negative issues . I don’t care for the super nationalism of the government, the gun laws, the many wars they’ve been involved in, nor do I like the racism and the present divisiveness of the country given that a person like Trump could be voted in and have so much power! That is frightening! I could never have afforded my two hip and knee replacements as well as other surgeries and the birth of four children had I lived there consequently, I would make friends with Americans who move here withthe same principles, but no to moving to the United States OF America.I was happy to return to beautiful Vancouver Island, (which was voted one of the top Islands in the world by CNN, Time magazine and Conde Nast, )

I live just outside of Montreal, pretty near the border. One of my good friends used to live in Vermont, right near the border and we would visit each other several times a year. She moved to Tennessee, and I flew down to visit her a few years ago (haven't been down since COVID) while Trump was still president and I'm not even joking when I say that as soon as I left Nashville I was highly anxious 100% of my time there. And I'm white, I'm not a visible minority, I suppose if I kept my mouth shut nobody could tell I'm not from there, it really hit me how sad it is that I even felt that. All these patriotic gun toting Americans I feared would shoot me for whatever reason they could come up with. I understand that that's not ACTUALLY likely, I was glad I left my husband and children at home, and while I enjoyed my weekend there I couldn't WAIT to get back home. New England was easier to handle, but I'm not cut out for the openly racist, homophobic, anti women's rights, you name it kind of discussions. I was horrified that not only do people ACTUALLY think like this, but those who are being oppressed, or those who simply support those being oppressed are having to keep quiet for fear of being murdered because of this. Nashville was really cool, I loved it, but I truly feared for my safety outside of the city, despite being a straight white woman. I can't imagine what it's like for the minorities, it's so sad. Pre election, head hunters were shaking the trees to find job candidates.\n\nOur unemployment is up as are our taxes with the stomping out of the tax cuts. \n\nDespite the endless sloganeering about how the Trump tax cuts only benefited “rich” people, it’s quite the opposite.\n\nHigh earners lost their pet deductions and lower income taxpayers were quite pleasantly surprised when they did their returns. The cuts were targeted to preserve wealth for the middle and lower classes.\n\nI could go on for another 100 pages but you get the idea and I get crabby writing for free.\n\nI will leave you with the caution that it’s best if you doubt and question any data and any stats coming from our government. Those are seldom legit. If the data comes from a study, always look to see who paid for it. And how large the sample size was; how were the participants selected?
