If Trump was still president he would’ve let this people flow right over the border into the US without hesitation, illegal crossings were the all time highest when he was in office. As a Canadian the only thing that I would say jumped out as not Canadian was your pronunciation of Newfound Land (though I have heard more Canadians say aboat instead of aboot, but aboot will remain king ),. Being Atlantic Canadian (but living across Canada) myself it's always pronounced NewFIN Land, everything else that sounded wrong to me is just a mater of location, like being from Nova Scotian means I have a strong R (like a pirate) when saying words like are, car, or star (Edit. We Nova Scotians also like out silent T's, Martin is Mar'in, and can't is can'}.

I can fully relate and agree with everything you said and more not said. I never thought I would hate being Canadian or my home country but Justin pushed me past the line. And I like and hate both cities at times but realize neither are lovable. \n\nMontreal is grey 80% of the timeand the people are so rude and hurtful. I hate the french just absolutly hate them. It is systimatic discrimination. \n\nWinnipeg is green and sunny in summer but winter is very very harsh as Canadian all know. Winnipeg has friendly people, but also some very violant people to the point I get into fights and or breakup fights and had to open carry a knife, and do wing chun. It is just harsh all around. \n\nThen I look into Toronto, and well that is even more expensive then anywhere else. \n\nAs I say I agree with all your points and maybe Portigal or Spain are intersting. Imagine having an economy based so heavily on housing...it cannot possibly be sustainable. The fact that nobody wants to live outside of Toronto, MTL, Vancouver or other big cities doesn't help. The trouble with Canada is that no political party is capable of simultaneously gaining power while also making the difficult structural changes that would make the country more competitive. Successive governments have pandered to the needs of baby boomers protecting their housing wealth, to the detriment of literally everyone else. Young Canadians head south where they can make 2x more money, knowing they can always come back when they are rich. It’s a terrible predicament with no easy solution.

I pay 11.5% of my income directly to pensioners as a contract worker making less than 50K in 2023. At total tax rate of 26% all inclusive. I have to live at home, and I can't find a single job that isn't contract work, and I'm a designer who's worked with F500 companies. The best Canadian rate hourly is 30$, my American contracts have paid 135$ an hour. It's such a bad deal to be a Canadian millennial. Canada has two classes. The ruling pensioner elder class which makes up 60% of the country and everyone else that they've impoverished. Canada has poor pay, worsening living standards, extremely high white collar competition, few job prospects and a disintegrating social fabric. But somehow I think this is the story of the entire commonwealth right now. So that makes us no different, and I don't really believe the grass is greener among the G7 either.

Past 200 years Americans have never ran away from there problems in this country, Americans have fought against the government & any other entities for there freedom, job rights & everything else ... but why do immigrants think running away from there country is going to solve everything, they need to learn to fight against there government & whatever other problems that there having in there own country.

It’s really sad that people see no future or safety where they are at. They’re willing to flee on foot with children and little else to walk hundreds of miles just to hopefully make their kids lives better. There has got to be a better way to help these people. I don’t know the answers but I also don’t get paid to know them. As someone who has sympathy for my brothers and sisters no matter where they were born this just hurts my heart.

I understand coming to America is the thing nowadays but if you was born here you wouldn't like it you would rather be born somewhere else and just let it be with it be just born there and die there. Sad but true?
