First lesson if you want to become a citizen of another country is to learn their language.That shows effort and interest in your new country.

Wait you mean to tell me after 15 years living in the US he still can't speak a spit of english? I'm not American, I'm Asian, and I learned English from watching movies. But for me ain't you suppose to put at-least some effort into speaking the language you plan on living on? How can you be in a country for 15 years and not even have the decency of learning the language of said coountry? just that shows the bad apples that make the rest of us latins look like crap! How could you not inform yourself to the best of your ability so that you are prepared? My mother looked into everything, gave up everything, to come to Canada. Before I moved to Brampton, I had no idea HOW MANY Indians actually lived here. I'm of south Asian descent but I grew up here as a Canadian. I still keep my culture but I'm Canadian FIRST. It's true too, some of them don't believe in deodorant, holy shit I literally had to tell a guy who sat beside me on the bus that he smelled. I know it was rude but if someone doesn't tell these people, they will think not wearing deodorant is normal. I miss the Canada I grew up in. My friends were mostly white but there was a nice mix of us: white, black, asian so we all got along. Today, everyone is in their own groups, strangers are the enemy, there is so much more segregation than there has ever been. Not long ago at a Tim Hortons I heard an Indian guy who was clearly new to the country telling his friend he didn't have to learn English because everyone in Brampton speaks Punjabi, it was insulting hearing that.....Listen up Indians and any immigrants coming here: BEFORE you come here, learn English, LEARN the customs and learn the CANADIAN WAY. You owe it to Canada, give something back before you start taking.

As someone who is more liberal minded, I don't agree with illegal immigration (I'm also pretty fiscally conservative). I'm open to the idea of healthcare for all, I'm open to legalized pot (even though I hate pot), I don't agree with most wars, and I don't give a rats ass who someone marries or who makes your cake. But all those things are for CITIZENS. That CITIZENS should have. Not someone who comes here just because they think everything is free, don't need to learn English and probably not pay taxes. This is supporting something illegal. I wish democrats could stick up for this country, rather than certain demographics. I believe we would never lose again if they could do that. This is the reason healthcare for all cannot be talked about right now. We have people thinking they can come here and do nothing with how things are now. Imagine if healthcare was free.

I lived in Central America for 8 years. I was there one year, learned to speak Spanish ( street Spanish). But I learned. Socialism isn’t what new lefty’s think it is. Immigrant wishful thinking. Canada does love immigrants and most of it's populace are immigrants, but that is only for well documented immigrants with high human capital. Canada uses a point based system to see whether new immigrants can contribute to society. Trudeau is making things worse. Look at the influx of Haitians coming to Quebec. I can't understand why these people refuse to learn the language of the country that they are in. Has it occurred to any of them that their adopted country might be more receptive to them if they did so? Honestly, this is what breeds insularity and misunderstandings.
