Canada has been sold from us Canadians by our greedy politicians and corporate interests. This idea that Canada just needs to build more homes is insane. There are millions of new immigrants, student visas, and illegal borders crossings every year. Most of Canada is desolate frozen tundra, rocky mountain, bog, dense forest, and the few spots where the weather is moderate everyone wants to live. People dont want more homes to be built because we can already barely drive anywhere due to traffic congestion, no one has doctors anymore, water restrictions start in early spring, no room for kids in schools. Everything is over crowded and over priced because theres way too many people here in a short amount of time and the infrastructure isnt close to being able to support it. The only ones benefitting from these out of control immigration practices are multi national corporate interests looking for a large cheap labour pool.

Canada is pos country trying to fleece everyone to keep its older population alive. Its very mismanaged country which poses as a great destination.. It's not. \nTaxes eat up most part of the paycheck and everything you buy is heavily taxed as well.\nIdk what they're trying to achieve here but prosperity is not something very common for Canadian new immigrants..

I immigrated to Canada in 1992 and I left Canada last year and moved to Spain. The best thing I ever did. Canada has become dictatorship under the Trudeau regime. Too many immigrants abusing the system and trying to make Canada like where they came from, particularly, East Indian and Muslims. They refuse to integrate and adapt to Canada.

Canada is making money off the immigrants who come and pay for visa and rents etc while immigrants stay poor in Canada as they're paying more than what they benefit.

Canada, ha you mean India, in the last decade 100s of 1000s of Indians have flooded to Southern Ontario (which by all measures is Canada) to the point that sometimes one feels like they are stranger in a strange land. Of the 2.2 million who arrived last year approx 500,000 are students They are huge profit centre for landlords and colleges and universities. And let's not talk about healthcare!!!\n\nThe other huge issue is healthcare - forget about getting a family doctor these days it's a choice between MAID or going to the US to get life saving healthcare (paid out of pocket of course). Long term not much will change - discussing immigration is still verboten in Canada and while I expect the Conservatives to form the next majority government thier policies mirror those of the Liberals.\n\nBTW it's not a half million per year it's well over a million new comers per year!

Growing number of immigrants are deciding to leave Canada, and growing numbers of Refugees and asylum are comming to Canada to replace them.

the price of housing is off the roof because everyone wants/need to move to cities and developers don't wanna build average housing because communist governments like Canada's make it expensive to start any business, so if they are going to build new homes they are going to be luxury homes because rich people don't complain about prices. Another reason is immigration, more people means more demand.

Many recent immigrants I have known have left Canada because the cost of living is too high. From my experience they work very hard, usually working 60+ hours a week. After some time they crunch the numbers and realize no matter how hard they try they will not get anywhere so they leave. For those born in Canada we find ourselves being chased out of our hometowns because it is too expensive to live there. For myself it was either stay in Vancouver, surrendering more than half of your income to rent or move out of the city to buy an apartment. In the major cities there is a mass exodus of young people and the strategy has been to replace that exodus with immigration. The problem is that is not sustainable as now new immigrants, seeking a better life are not finding it in major Canadian cities. For those who already own property in the lower mainland the selfish mentality is to do whatever you can to deny construction, thus maintaining the scarcity and value of what little land/housing there is in desirable areas. Zoning laws are beginning to change but progress is slow and municipalities have failed to keep up with infrastructure so the growing pains is going to be immense. It's beautiful here now doubt but if I had no ties and a solid financial footing I would have left long ago. Generations ago you could show up to Canada with no money and thrive if you were willing to work hard. Now hard work won't get you anything.

For a country that nobody wants to live in, Canada sure has a steep immigration rate. The country has doubled in population since 1967.

Lack of housing and increased cost of living that is exceeding income growth seems to be a problem in many first world countries. In Canada we need to cool immigration until we have caught up with the housing needs of the people already here so its a good thing that people don't want to come here.

Immigrates first consideration should be to improve their opportunities in their home country and avoid migration. \n\nFirst generation immigrants to Canada going back to the early 1900’s had a very difficult life and often only their children benefit. Many immigrants come to Canada with the sole purpose of obtaining a passport for ticket out of their political unstable native country if it goes south.

95 percent of the immigrants we bring in dont have experience building homes and the ones that can build homes stay in their countries because they get paid alright. Canada isnt a great place anymore, very very very unaffordable.

HONG KONG SCHEME and decades of open door to mass immigration mostly from Hong Kong and Mainland China (with now all coutries in the Asian continents) and paying above market value with easy immigration and bringing elderly family created this mess in 1990!! Now immigration is easier with no visa required for other countries. Long term care homes are also overwhelmed as people are bringing their non english speaking relatives and causing a burden on this social system, thus MAID has been no other option for many people. The Canadian Experience only applies to non European and non Latino Immigrants. Europeans and Latinos can find a job the 2nd in Canada.

Compared to US the kind of people that are immigrating to Canada are those who are just not up to the mark who could prosper economically. It is like they wanted to get to the gold standard - US - but since they are not that skilled going to a truly disgusting compromise. I think most Asians are leaving Canada. I'm Asian and I'm about to leave after 16 years here, my classmates back in college left already with their parents... My parents left too. I just have to sell my condo and I'll be gone. Canada is just too expensive, the pay is SHT, and it's too cold, it doesn't make sense to live here, like I have lived in Southeast Asia and I think it's much better especially if you start a business. Also China is growing, it's both a great market and a source of goods, ASEAN is rapidly growing especially in the tech sector, South Korea is dynamic as ever, and Japan is begging for immigrants now and they have preference for Asians like how Canada has preference for members of the Commonwealth.

Canada is awful. Since I moved here 1,5 years ago I’m just struggling with the depression all this time. There is no joy in this country, no feeling of safety. Crime is happening all the time. I don’t feel safe walking on the streets. My salary is low bcz no employer is willing to pay good money to an immigrant. I’m not able to afford a car but the public transport is just terrible! I can barely afford to split the rent with my partner. Barely can save any money. As an immigrant I will never be able to buy a property here. I lived and worked in another country and I was able to save so much money and have a great life, travel, buy food, have fun. Here I am not able to do this.

The longer you live in canada and pay taxes the more you should be rewarded, but like cell phone companies the liberals treat new citizens and refugees better than veterans and born Canadian, so if immigrants think it's bad imagine if you were born here and the mass immigration just made it ten times worse.

Well I will tell you that I am an immigrant with Canadian citizenship, I have been living in Canada for almost 12 years, and I have decided to leave Canada to live permanently in my home country Peru. The reasons why I will leave Canada are mainly the extremely high cost of life (the rent mainly) I have lived in Toronto for almost 7 years and until now I am renting rooms because it's the only space I can afford with my current salary. The other reason is the health care service, as the lady in the video mentioned, I have been in the waiting list for 2 years to see an specialist and until now nothing. I got used to the weather, the people, the snow, I have my own car but it's sucking me almost CAD$1000 per month among monthly payments, gasoline and insurance. While in Lima Peru the cost of life is almost a third part of what it's here. The food is cheap and the quality is high (everything is organic in Peru). I will keep my Canadian job and work remotely from Lima and I will live like a king¡¡¡¡¡, I miss the food, the beaches, the amazing social life and with my Canadian passport I will be able to travel anywhere in the world once a year ..... now that's what I call living the life .... I am so excited¡¡¡

I was born in Canada and I can tell you that the Immigration policies are just scams, they only show and tell you what a person can easy achieve if that person wants (which are mostly lies) and then when someone immigrates to Canada they soon find out that it was pretty much all lies. I know someone from India that apparently has a computer engineering degree from his country, but, when he arrived in Canada and tried to find work, the government told him that his degree is not relevent in finding work, HOW DOES THAT MAKE SENSE???

Let me tell you , the majority may be Indians, but in fact they are not leaving permanently. Only citizens of India or permanent residents are leaving temporarily. They rent their home and live in India with that rent , there they get servants life is luxury if you got money. Second they are the reason for this hike in rent and housing- immigrants are the main reason for high rent and housing market especially greedy ones. Health care in Canada is not accessible even if it is free.

I moved to Canada 15 years ago and haven’t complaint once. I really love it here but if you make less than 80 000 I would probably regret as its expensive to live for the ones that make less. I was never an immigrant. Born in Canada probably 6th or 7th generation Canadian. And I'm sure I am not alone when you here the struggles we had. Do those immigrants think they should have everything just given to them. Well it seems that way and Canadians are starting feel that this is enough of the whining and complaining about their struggles. Shouldn't have come here thinking that everything is free.
