I’m a Canadian citizen, and I left because I couldn’t make ends meet. I knew I would never own my own home unless I bought elsewhere. The big cities have blocks and blocks full of homeless people. It’s unlivable unless you are rich or you bought your house decades ago.

It's also possible that Canada is seeing a drop in citizen applications because there are too many foreigners there...like too many Punjabi. I would freak out if I see too many Indians in a country that is not India.

I am a US citizen and think of moving to Canada. Gun violence, homeless on the street, and migrants are hazard to live here. I went to Montreal last summer, staying in Travelodge near Old Montreal. Two nights stay cost me over $500 USD. It is really outrageous as I spent the same amount for a whole week on cruise, including room and all meals 4 years ago. I understand the inflation, but this same hotel usually charged me $200 US dollars in the summer. Now, Canada becomes un affordable to us. ?

A permanent residence took 6 months before , I have been waiting for it 2 years and they just say they are a be overcharged of applications. I’m not the only one in the same situation. \nTo be citizen you need to have at least two years as PR. Delayed application responses have consequences in the long time.

Why would they want to go to Canada. When they've got to apply. Americans southern border is wide open and a free for all those entering illegally. Plus you get a free life as an illegal migrant in the United States. Free housing, free medical, free food, free cellphone, free clothes, free childcare, free transportation. Agree Food Housing Rents etc have skyrocketed like most countries. The headline is wrong. These people they interviewed are not permanent residents. Therefore they can’t apply for citizenships. They interviewed these Indians who were international students. Who come here misrepresenting themselves in their visa applications. Pretending to be students but come here to work and stay. Canadian government put stricter rules on them to crack down on bogus immigration consultancy and colleges that exploit these students. This news segment is not 100 percent clear. It is true there are pr or naturalized citizens of Canada that leave the country to move back to their home country or move to another country but not all are Indians.

Canada has sooo much land but like the man said, it stopped housing development 30 yrs ago. Everyone is concentrated in a few cities when they can develop more land. Citizens should get priority.

Tbh its the right choice , we are millions of homes short to house already canadian citizens. If you come to canada your coming to be homeless or share a rental with a dozen other people whove come here for the same opportunities. Canada is broken and its going to take decades to fix it.
