I moved to Toronto in 2021. I've wanted to live in the city and have finally bought my condo in the city of Toronto. I love the city, especially during the summer time. Toronto Summer is so much fun and a great place to be in Canada. I am sick of all the Toronto bashing the past couple months. Yes, there are a lot of problems and yes they're all really bad and need to get resolved. And in all honesty, Toronto is probably one of the better big cities to live in in Canada. Despite all the negativity, TTC violence hasn't really gone up on paper. A lot of aspects about Canada are still strong even among western countries. I've been to Vancouver and Montreal. And those are cities have a lot of problems and a lot of different problems than Toronto.\n\nThe reasons that she specified in her video are all valid and they all make sense. I just want to say that I'm sick of all the Canada bashing and all the Toronto bashing. Toronto is a great place. I'm going to be still living in this city as some years it's going to be down and it's going to come right back up again in another few years.

This is so very sad...while i dont believe in illegal immigration for the most part..I do believe WE ALL want bettwr for ourselves and our kids.. These people want the same.. I live in Canada as a Kenyan and I have been here for sometime .I work as a HR/Payroll Specialist also certified in the field. The problem is not Canada , Canada is a very good county which I love and I am gland God gave me the Opportunity to Come and settle here with my family.. The problem with some people coming here is lacking of knowledge how Canada works .It’s system is very far from how things work in Dubai or Gulf countries. A lot people are thinking than you can just come and get any job even without proper papers or you can earn a lot of money and then build wealth quickly. Which is A BIG FAT LIE. The tax in Canada keeps you humble. That is how Canada funds it's high end life many admire and want to be part of. The more you work in Canada the more tax you pay and many don't know this, and it is one of the main reasons why a lot of people start to regrets, because they realize there effort of working hard is not paying as they hoped. Another thing in Canada is next to impossible to get jobs or rent a place without proper paper work, like work permit, It is not like USA where you can use someone else papers to work. the The main available jobs , easy to get , don’t pay much. And also the cost of living is very high in some provinces like Ontario and BC. They hardly recognize credentials from outside unless you came through a job offer. Also because a lot of things in Canada are paid by the government through taxes, like health care, education. Unless you are tax paper with (and I repeat) Paper work, you cant access the benefit, including thee free food available for the needy. \nMany people forget Canada is looking for people to work for them. Not to grow rich and leave. The system is meant to keep you working. Unless you understand how a system of a country works, one will continue to blame it. Let people get well informed and well educated first , before they jump in the river. And it’s not Canada a lone , but any country in the world. Also a lot of these media post about Canada are misleading. And there is also another trap called debt, a lot of people once they getting working, rush to but things they cant afford and it becomes a stress instead of a blessings.\nIf you want to live well and enjoy Canada . One of the top thing to do is, go back to school once you enter in it, get a good education and you will get a good job. Also give yourself time to adjust. REMEMBER you are starting from square one. You are not continuing where you left in Kenya or in the country you get from. Also, the general social climate is not as friendly as those in USA for example. Not many people are willing to help for free. The most jobs advertised in Canada are the lower end paying jobs, which a lot of people pay a lot of money to come for, just to realize the job they left behind was far much better than this, but no one told them that, just because it said $18 hrs and you converted it to your country and looked a lot, doesnt mean it carries the same wait once you earn in from here. The living expense are very different. The reality is, it is not where you are , but whom you are and determination knows no barrier. Anyone who will trust God for help, work hard/smart and be patience in life, they will make. It might take longer than they expect, but they will get their eventually.

Canada, Australia not sure of others follow a point based system for their immigration. Now, good people, mjuange, English test it’s also a must including UK, especially if you’re going as a student or worker. This places hakuna rocket science their website it’s clear even with guideline of when you can expect your visa. Na wakichelewa mtu wangu call that embassy ulize nianje manze, si 5 months ziliisha??‍♀️ In Kenya mine was late, called Embassy on Wednesday, additional information was provided on Friday, Tuesday I had my visa. I've been put out of Mississauga because I can't afford it anymore...this video speaks my truth, even if it is hard to admit. Min wage really has to increase a lot, I used to be able to afford everything alone with one job, but not anymore. Or even if education was not so expensive one can upskill or educate for a new career but its just another investment thats too expensive to afford. Desperately trying to figure out where to live that is not the middle of nowhere, so hard to find that balance between comfort and affordability.

Right now the best place to live is SEAsia. Cheap except for singapore. I like thailand but the language is difficult and you will never be able to read and write in thai. Too complicated. Europe is also on its downturn a lot. Inflation and taxes is too high. Yes covid destroyed the world and i heard another pandemic is going to happen thatbis worst than covid.

As a Kenyan American I can definitely relate to this video. Things have gotten really expensive here and people are deciding between buying necessities and being without, rent has sky rocketed, food and gas(petro) prices are ridiculous, coming with the right visa is important. A lot of agencies have been bringing Kenyan trained nurses here and they are very happy, green card lottery is another option. To avoid stress use the channels I listed above.

I would advise before anyone relocate to another country should consult God first cz He knows better. May be God's plan is to bless you in your home country. Some people relocate with generational curses of poverty and limitations operating in their lives, moving to another country doesn't change your spiritual nature, seek God for guidance. In Genesis 26:12 Isaac was blessed in his country in the midst of famine.

When you go to a new country, things must be rough at first, personally im in turkey, and i stsyed for a couple of months without a house, people in Canada are just loud, those discouraging others, mostly among kenyans its not good, nigerians stand by each other and that's why they are so many there, kenyans just love discouraging one another, so if you want to try Canada whichever method you use, just go if you are meant to succeed there you will. Some Kenyans or Africans for that matter are born believing tgat to make it you must go abroad. Not everyone is ever lucky. And please do background checks. Some social media posts are not true. Toronto is a shabby town. It's as if God did a dump of diarrheic concrete that spread and hardened into the GTA. Torontonians walk around in their sweats and hoodies and think they have style! A big city with small pockets of genteel wealth that are self-enclosed little bourgeois communities of champaign socialists. Cabage town is an example. Beaches is another. For all the high taxes we pay. Nothing works, its all broken and cracked. Vancouver is the superior city for food, fresh air, beauty and most importantly. Everyone is much better looking in Vancouver.

I have a chronic pain disability. I can't even fathom trying to manage that in the US healthcare system. Like Tyler mentioned, that alone is enough of a reason for me. 2 party system is also a hard no (even though it hurts that we're not much better right now). Gun culture is a no for me, it's not an environment I care to be a part of. I hesitate to use safety at school as an example because I remember when Taber followed on the heels of Columbine (I was in grade 9 that year). There's a lot up here in Canada that we need to improve, but with what I value as a Canadian I certainly would feel like I was downgrading if I moved to the US. Heck, as an Albertan even moving to another province would feel like a downgrade to me since I have no PST where I live, we're rat free, I live within an hour of the Rocky Mountains, etc.

Iam from New York... do not live there anymore...but when I lived there. .The financial sector has been buying apartments for more than 20 years. I think that is one of the reasons. I am not racist but just stating a fact during an observation. I live in Coquitlam. a city connected to Vancouver BC by another city Burnaby. I went to my local blood clinic for testing, it was very busy with long wait times of over 6 hours but I thought I would try anyway. As I took my number and was standing against the wall waiting as their were no seats I took note that out of 38 people I was the only caucasian, the other 37 were 100 percent Asian. I could have easily thought I was in a clinic in Beijing. This is my country, born and raised here from many generations of europeans. When I was young there was more diversity of cultural backgrounds but it has changed in that one culture totally dominates . That is not cultural mix it is a takeover by one particular culture. Why is immigration Canada allowing so many of one culture compared to other cultures? As a taxpayer I expect immigration should be well thought out and to not favour one culture over another yet in Vancouver area that is happening.

I spent a lot of time in Toronto going to college then university and working in the summer. I love certain pockets of Toronto, the diversity, the opportunity and the uniqueness it holds however I would never move to Toronto. I do live in the GTA with my family and we were fortunate to buy a house pre housing market increase in prices and thank God we did! If I were a young person starting off now I would 100% relocate to a smaller city up north if I could get work there or to another province in need be. It is not worth all the stress and unhappiness that the trying to survive in the rat race that Toronto has become.

Hamilton is another Canadian city that has undergone major changes. There are now tent cities in every city park. Rents are unaffordable for many people. I know someone who just leased a two bedroom apartment for $2600 plus hydro. Food prices seem to be on the rise everywhere in Canada. A house will never be affordable for many working couples. Crime is much more than five years ago. Much of this has to do with the tolerance and accommodation that occurred during COVID.
