They were huge with indoor pools, massive kitchens, game rooms, etc. Just pure luxury. \n\nA couple months ago a house down my street was sold for well over a million dollars. We are far from living like those people in that show.

You don't even need to study or work in Canada to get permanent residency, I just filled some forms online, got invited, showed some documents and got mine. I never even visited the country before and the first time I landed was as a PR.\n\nA college in Canada is the long route to get PR, but it's pretty much guaranteed. If you already have work experience outside Canada, 2 diplomas and good english/french you can go straight to PR.

In the whole story, the 90% struggle seems to be from the wife.. doing bachelor's, masters, raising kids, giving ielts, extra tests etc all was done by the wife and husband was doing nothing other than making poor decisions. We have relatives who were in the same situation as accountants and they showed flexibility and moved to suburb and now have permanent residence. Also after coming to Canada they have not started any proper job rather living on child benefits and exploiting the system.

You need to find an immigration lawyer and do your own research before making any serious decisions. Canada’s tax and unemployment rates are much higher than in the US. It is also freaking cold in general and they have extremely long winter which means you will be locked inside your house for the majority of the year especially if you are a senior citizen.

The States is wonderful in many ways, but the your private health care system is dreadful. People die because their HMOs tell Americans what diagnostic tests they can or cannot afford. I read that one in four US families go bankrupt because of huge medical bills NOT covered by their insurance. Also the gun situation would give most Canadians pause. In Canada, only hunters, trappers, remote forest workers and cops carry guns. Last but not least: the right wing MAGA goons terrorizing people for flying Pride flags freak me out. British Columbia is gorgeous! You only showed cities like Vancouver and Victoria and completely missed the beautiful 'wide open spaces', the beauties of places like Banff, Lake Louise, the National Parks, the famous ski hills, the northern province where living is less expensive, the Rockies, the amazing wildlife, the Okanagan (Vernon, Kelowna, Penticton, where people are flocking to live) with colorful Kalamalka Lake, International airports, great winter snow sports and summer water sports, fishing and hunting, goldpanning, Entertainment centers, job opportunities--Construction never slowed down for a second during Covid in Kelowna. After having watched a few seasons of a certain home improvement TV show that happens in the city of Laurel, Mississippi, I for myself would gladly move there IF I could have a decent job. As a Canadian, the feelings I get watching the what is happening in the US now, is the same feelings people get watching TLC shows. It makes us feel better about ourselves. We may not be perfect, and may have our flaws, but at least we aren't as bad as them.

I was born, raised and lived in the US until I was 35. When the orange monster was elected I said F this and went to Canada. Best decision I ever made, it's clean, safe, free health care and the people don't just say they're proud Canadians, they show it. It's very community focused up here, we take care of each other. The ONLY thing that sucks in Canada is the food, American wins all day on that one.

Tyler, more than one child is getting shot every day in the US. In 2021 900 children under the age of 16 were killed by homicide. If you take the statistics up to age 20, over 3000 are killed by homicide. Let’s say that more than 5 children are killed by homicide in the US every day.
