Companies showing fake jobs to satisfy govt. pressures. Automated refusals replies of your job applications are common.\n People get hired on sources and within companies. Racism exists, results are killings every now and then. Go and watch news channels like CP24. Thieves are here. Things do get stolen. Recently mass graves are found near schools in multiple areas of small children of indigenous people who were tortured and killed by white supremacy in the past. Recently a whole family is killed by a maniac. No capital punishments so killers, rapists walks free after 10-15 years tops.\n\nAshir sahib is being a little dramatic. I guess the agony of Pakistani bureaucracy has influenced him so negatively that in his mind he is comparing Pakistani life with Canadian life. He himself was driving truck initially. may be now a days retired or staying home or may have sufficient funds. But don't get too excited with his kind words. He is only showing the good side of Canada in some sort of excitement. \nThe bitter truth is that unemployment rate is too high here. Govt hides the truth. They couldn't even handle the pandemic properly. Alcohol is cheap marihuana (Hashish, Charas) is legal now. Every 3rd person is smoking weed. Drunk drivers kills innocents on roads often. Every region have different rules and regulations and policies. I moved to Niagara region and they charged me $200 deposit for water $200 deposit for hydro plus monthly bills separate. $1800 to $2000 is the rent of one bed apartment. Burlington where he lives has $2800 to $3000 rent monthly for a house. Go check online! Price of buying a home is in millions of dollars. Go check real estate.

21:58, Basement life is depressing especially in the beginning and rents are high around good schools. School and health is covered but you have to earn rent, bills, groceries, transportation. Forget about dining out unless you find a good job. Securing a good job is for the key for most. Starting a business, you must be coming with $$$$$$ and a good local network.

Trust me do not live in Basement… I disagree with it, it may cause you lot more stressful especially if you been living here in normal family home in Pakistan. basement rent $2000/- it is very high estimate anyway . Safety first in terms of car , yes agree don’t buy brand new car.

Which wid make other things complicated. Both of them come home tired and upset and life is too fast to just survive. Having the house in Toronto and neighborhood is soo exoensive and u have to keep paying till u die. \nOfcourse ppl work themselves because it's too expensive they can't afford to pay for repair. I see it really depended on the deposit when it came to rent.

The price increase thing is a classic. If someone is interested renting for 1300 then the next one that asks will get a price bump because 1300 is already kind of secured.

a landlord can not rent to whoever they choose for any reason they choose. the biggest racial judgement is the one made by supposed 'minorities' that just because youre born white, you have life easier than other people. i am native american, canadian & irish, & i am fully white. by 16 i had buried both parents & was living on my own, at 9 i was picking cucumbers with migrant workers, if racial profiling is bad, how bad is the assumption that others have a easier life than you simply because theyre white?

Considering you only have to have a student or work visa and say you are going to apply for citizenship and have a bed and breakfast or rent rooms to buy a house in Canada. Canada has a very high cost of living. In Toronto or Vancouver,$1800/month rent for an average apartment, houses are at least $750,000 in a decent area. Cellphone and internet rates are among highest in world. Groceries and alcohol are expensive compared to US and UK. Extreme cold weather 5 months a year even in southern cities like Toronto. Spotty transit service compared to European and Asian cities. Much of the country is undeveloped because of extreme weather. Most Canadians live within 60 miles of the USA border.\n\nAdvantages of Canada : it is reasonably rich and technologically advanced. Free and democratic although not like the USA. Lots of open space outside large cities. And very quiet , peaceful but uneventful country.

A landlord wouldn't rent to my brother solely because he was not of a specific south asian race. When told he can't do that, the landlord said it's his house and he can do whatever he wants. Yup. Racism happens.

The system is cheater to this day . Look at the real state market. \nCanadian citizens are unable to buy houses because of the spring prices , and the high prices are due to student boarding housing . The city I live has been over run buy East Indian students and these rich big city East Indians are buying the housing market up then renting each room for $600 a month but but also have people sleeping on floors with about 10-15 people living in each home. \n\nWhy isn't the government fixing this ?

I'm white, I've been followed in stores. I'm not stealing so I don't care. I rented a room to a woman from Iraq, she was nice but didn't speak english. She often left bits of tp where she sat, instead of womens pads I think. She moved 3 months later, she had stuffed cig butts under the plunger in her sink instead of the toilet. Immigrants had convinced her we overcharged and she moved in with them to her regret, but I wouldn't want her back. She was a needy pain. We have refugees in an apartment across the street, Many different plumbers the last few months, now all new tenants are white. I can understand why.

Canada is one of the worst places to immigrate to. I’m Canadian. I know what it’s like to live here. Plus I’m indigenous. So I’ve face racism and prejudice. Many think my people gets free handouts. From my experience that’s far from the truth. I’ve left my community for a better education. I was completely alone without parents and my siblings, living with an aunt that used me for another pay check. I couldn’t go to college because I couldn’t afford it, even tho I got accepted into three colleges. Now I’m working a part-time job that forces me to stand on my feet all day. Not many job opportunities are out here unless you’ve gone to college or obtain training. plus the rate for rent is horrendous.

Mexicans do the same in my area they judge you by how you look if you ain't a chalupa they won't rent you a house but then they want others to feel sorry for them when their being deported or treated a certain way that's just being a hypocrite

This happens both ways and is very real in Canada, but the racism against white community is just as bad if not worse than the other way around. Landlords won't rent to white people especially with kids. Some stores dont hire white people anymore. It's very Sad and it's in our faces but once again no one has the stones to dare say anything about it.

The discrimination is always going to be there because it's how people feel about you. That's why Reparation is SO IMPORTANT for Afro American descendants of North American Slavery, so that we can buy or rent to people that exactly want us there or buy a home in the neighbor of our choice. The Black economics is under the poverty line and the United States of American owe us REPARATION FOR THE ATROCITIES THEY HAVE AFFLICTED UPON US. This is one of the ways Black people can survive.

In 2007, I called a property manager in Vancouver about renting an apartment, she told me that there's no vacancy. I was really interested in living in that area. After a few days, I called this building again. This time a South Asian women replied that they have an apartment available. I rented an apartment in that building. I found out that the building was owned by a South Asian family, but property managers were a Canadian couple. In 2012, I was looking for a rental apartment near Metrotown, Burnaby, BC. All property managers, refused me to rent in their buildings. They said they have no vacancy. I had never experienced such a blatant racism before that day.

As someone who under saw evictions in montreal for many years i can confirm that the tenants i usually had to deal with for not paying rent were of color, the residences most often left in a total mess, with destroyed property and infestation were more often than not those of colored people. property owners have little to no power once they've signed a contract, it makes sense that they're careful of who they allow to rent from them.

Oh.. higher prices! I am white and have been always quoted HIGHER prices than black or Hispanic friends... I pay rent, as much as 50 % higher than what black and Hispanic tenants pay in my building!

actually, having worked in real estate sales for a brief part of my life, im pretty sure the amount of racism isnt as exaggerated as portrayed. what is happening is the sales person has deemed the first customer very likely to rent the apartment, so to avoid having to reject/ conflict another customer, the later customer looking at the same apartment is quoted a slightly higher price to deter him from deciding on the apartment. also why the first customer is offered 2 apartments to look at while the 2nd customer looking for the same criteria is only offered one.

Most foreigners only will rent to there own people, my landlord is a foreigner and won't give me a rent receipt. He not paying taxes. Lock him lock him up.
