To begin with, the Indian education system is superior to that of Canada, so there's little justification for going to Canada and contributing to their economy for an education that is often subpar. Secondly, no country is obligated to grant citizenship simply because someone has studied there—that’s a fundamental principle. Taking a loan to study abroad is a personal choice, not a guarantee of future residency. Many of these individuals are students who couldn't secure admission to top Indian institutions. Deportation is a reasonable consequence in such cases.

Canada is full, till housing & all associated infrastructure is caught up, deport as many as possible now. No more immigration for probably over a decade at least. The liberals have ruined Canada.

There are half million people undocumented living in Canada since years working going to school who don't have any status but not deported yet. the 70,000 students were coming in illegally i believe, 70k out of 1million+ that have come per year isn't so bad. I blame this whole situation 100% on the government and it totally does suck that these 70k people coming in are going to be deported but again there were and are so much scams that have been going on. If they lied and cheated on the system i don't think we should feel bad. Canada used to have higher standards. My family obviously are immigrant too but there has been no background checks, no proper procedure in the last few years and 2 races have been getting preferential treatment. Most if not all people that come in from Africa are left on the streets while the your country men, indian, and white looking are given a free house, food budget, and dont have to work.. We paying more for taxes and the government has increased work force by 40% yet wait time for services has trippled 3X, make it make sense.

Here in Philippines, foreigners are prohibited from protesting against the government. You will be deported.

Also from what I hear they’ve misplaced 1, million immigrants in this country apparently and considering United States is 10 times bigger that would be equal to like 10 million. Maybe they were ready for deportation who knows but they never went. They just kind of disappeared. Also there a month away from deporting 70,000 international students that think that just because they went to school here means that they have the right to permanently stay but regardless of that just letting you know that those people are probably gonna try to head south for the border.

Those 1000 should have been all deported as they were obviously not ready to live in Canada. There are many more examples of how immigrants are ruining our budding culture.
