Since the pandemic houses have more than doubled, I did get a raise, but it was I think 4% over the last three years. So cost of living is definitely increasing at a much higher rate. Before the pandemic I could buy a week of groceries for one person for $60, now it’s more than $100 for a week easily, and that’s with looking for bargains and reducing the amount of meat and fresh produce I eat. It can’t keep getting worse, because people already can’t afford it, so something is going to have to change before everything breaks completely.

100%. Canada will keep losing its top talents and top-quality immigrants to the US in the forthcoming years. BECAUSE the Canadian system does not invest in innovation, research, or technology rather they would make money off of the scam real estate market by selling overinflated real estate keeping the supply limited, and accepting desperate refugees here and there in hundreds of thousands. There is almost a communist market in Canada, all supermarkets, mobile phone companies, and internet companies, airline companies are in the hands of a few privileged families. There is limited competition and often they decide the price of anything without any competition. Result: a flight within Canada is more expensive than a flight from Canada to Spain. Everything is 3 times more expensive and people suffer. They sell an empty jar of Nutella as the Canadian dream. In the end, Canada will end up with people who have no other choice but to live in Canada and have limited potential to propel the country's innovation which is sad. There is no free lunch and governments are poorly equipped to manage economies because economic systems are too complex to be centrally managed. I arrived in canada as an immigrant in 1990 from Poland. many of observations were already valid then. however among my friends close and distant who came here at same/similar time most achieved success. Cardiologist, few RNs, computer programmers/IT in wide understanding of the term, skilled trades, car mechanics, RE agents, production managers in manufacturing facilities and the list goes on . we all have paid for houses educated kids that do better earlier in life than we did. i worked in construction field, hard work and retired at 55 and so did my wife(nurse). yes the healthcare is an issue but i was lucky not to ever fall through the cracks and got care when needed.

Indians who come to Canada are already middle class with good job and money in India, and they try to get the same type of jobs in Canada, this is a different environment that leads to loneliness as all of their friends and relatives are still in India. \nThere are families from refugee countries, if one member gets here they will bring their brothers, cousins, friends an al their families and everyone does restaurant, shops trucking and other jobs and then slowly get into the same Business you can see them get together on Weekends.

I am a foreigner who lives in Canada now. I am not Canadian or East Indian. However, I am 100% SURE that if Canada did not import those useless, disgusting, and rude things, India would have been bankrupt 100% already. I left Canada six years ago back to Uzbekistan after nine years of life in Canada. It was the best decision I have ever made. Old stock Canadians are the most xenophobic and chauvinistic people I had ever seen. Tired of being treated like a piece of trash and imbecile, although I have MD and MS degrees. For educated people from any middle income country like Uzbekistan, immigration to Canada is a scam and modern day slavery. Toronto looks like a zoo, not a world class city. Canada has been sold from us Canadians by our greedy politicians and corporate interests. This idea that Canada just needs to build more homes is insane. There are millions of new immigrants, student visas, and illegal borders crossings every year. Most of Canada is desolate frozen tundra, rocky mountain, bog, dense forest, and the few spots where the weather is moderate everyone wants to live. People dont want more homes to be built because we can already barely drive anywhere due to traffic congestion, no one has doctors anymore, water restrictions start in early spring, no room for kids in schools. Everything is over crowded and over priced because theres way too many people here in a short amount of time and the infrastructure isnt close to being able to support it. The only ones benefitting from these out of control immigration practices are multi national corporate interests looking for a large cheap labour pool.

Many recent immigrants I have known have left Canada because the cost of living is too high. From my experience they work very hard, usually working 60+ hours a week. After some time they crunch the numbers and realize no matter how hard they try they will not get anywhere so they leave. For those born in Canada we find ourselves being chased out of our hometowns because it is too expensive to live there. For myself it was either stay in Vancouver, surrendering more than half of your income to rent or move out of the city to buy an apartment. In the major cities there is a mass exodus of young people and the strategy has been to replace that exodus with immigration. The problem is that is not sustainable as now new immigrants, seeking a better life are not finding it in major Canadian cities. For those who already own property in the lower mainland the selfish mentality is to do whatever you can to deny construction, thus maintaining the scarcity and value of what little land/housing there is in desirable areas. Zoning laws are beginning to change but progress is slow and municipalities have failed to keep up with infrastructure so the growing pains is going to be immense. It's beautiful here now doubt but if I had no ties and a solid financial footing I would have left long ago. Generations ago you could show up to Canada with no money and thrive if you were willing to work hard. Now hard work won't get you anything.

Children ARE being shot in school on a daily basis. There are over 306 school shootings already for 2023 and the year isn't over, but students don't go to school year round, so its more than 1shooting per school day for certain. Students only have school between 160 and 180 days per year so that is almost 2 school shootings per day.

Lack of housing and increased cost of living that is exceeding income growth seems to be a problem in many first world countries. In Canada we need to cool immigration until we have caught up with the housing needs of the people already here so its a good thing that people don't want to come here.
