Is there not discrimination in Nigeria. They call it tribalism and that is even more dangerous than Western discrimination. There are challenges everywhere but it is better to live in Canada or USA than anywhere in Africa

Statistically Canada has more than 5% of women’s as victims of sexual assault compared to 0.004% in India. No comparison and even if I multiply factor of 100 times under reporting in India which is massive by any stretch of imagination, it is still 10 percent of what is “reported” in Canada. Even in south India esp Hyderabad, lot of students go to usa with debt facing problems, all paperwork done by shady consultancies. My friendly suggestion once undergrad done in india , get a job & work experience at least 2 years in india so you know the work environment. Don’t rush to go abroad. Take your time. Its your parents hard work money.????

As a second generation Nigerian immigrant (parents were born in Nigeria and I was born in the US). I 100% agree w/ his perspective. I’ve spent consider amount of time in Nigeria w/ my side of the family that’s doing well and the other side that aren’t. Aboard should only be for people who have no opportunity back home as in they have tried everything and nothing worked for them. If you are doing well in Nigeria, try and give birth to your kids in the US so they can retrieve citizenship. There is no reason a successful person back home should sell their things and move aboard even for kids as you can send them aboard to receive an education and help them gain citizenship and from their they can file for you. The amount of systemic racism, odd jobs you will have to work (God forbid you don’t have a degree and you move aboard for non degree purposes that’s when aboard will show you pepper), cost of surviving is expense here especially now as inflation is high. It’s just not benefiting especially if you were better off in Nigeria. However, this shouldn’t stop you from coming just know that the road isn’t easy and some places are worse than others. I’ve never been to Canada but have been to the UK and by far would advice anyone from back home to avoid UK at all cost. Not even sure how Nigerians are even making it there lol (it’s a never ending cycle of poverty plus citizenship is very difficult to gain and the discrimination in my opinion is much worse than the US. UK society has a class system and it only really empowers British people. The UK is so bad that they even discriminate against Eastern Europeans that should let you know a lot.) Also why do you think most Brits Nigerians come back to Naija hoping to secure job compared to American Nigerians and let me tell you it’s not because the UK is close to Nigeria, there is a true lack of opportunity. There are more opportunity in the US and possibly Canada compared to the Europe.

this is ridiculous we should have always had the military guarding these borders. we all know all of this to President Biden first day in office. whether you first man and I guess we're going to house and feed them while we let our own people continue to Live and Die in the street.. now we should Deport them back to their own countries and let them come in the right way. we need to even report the ones that he's already trying to house in this country because God only knows who they are

He had 2 drivers and other domestic staffs in Nigeria but bet me and you he will be paying them slavery wage of 15 thousand Naira in a month,those are the kind of life he is missing in Canada cos there is dignity in labour there even if you want to do house help there they must pay you well and majority cannot afford it. I have come to understand that I don't need much in life once i can eat and pay my bills without knowing looking for loans to eat , pay school fees , accomodation what else .

The worst part the government doesn’t care so long they collect their high tax , they are fine. You know I used to have a lax attitude about immigration. Like if they want to come let them. That is until my small family and I were made homeless in April of this year. I am disabled bug earn an income in addition to disability benefits I earned by being educated and having two degrees. I couldn’t find any resources or housing. I found lots and lots and lots of resources for undocumented people even grocery assistance, rental assistance and whole orgs finding them housing. Even with kidney failure and dialysis we couldn’t find help. We had to be referred to Adult Protective Services to get any help. It took 6 months. We live in a sad place because American families can’t find affordable housing.

I was born in the USA in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and I spent the rest of my life in America even to this day in the present and future. I love the USA. Plus I've been to Canada twice when I was a little kid such as me going to the Niagara falls for example. Canada is cool too.

I lived in Turkey for 7 years then brought my wife back to the United States after COVID. Now that I know what I'm missing in this world I'm not very happy in America. No neighbors, no community, no social interactions, no interesting store-fronts. My wife is even more miserable. We have made 0 friends in nearly 2 years in America. I was watching a documentary yesterday about people in the USA who have had bad luck and are struggling to survive. They live in their car but they have job's. It's just not enough for rent. This is why I'm very adamant on my dreams to work in the US. I'm a US citizen because I was born there when my dad went to school for his doctorate degree. I feel very lucky to have that, and that is why I have a dream to live and work there. I know applying for a residence and work permit is a very difficult process to do. I would feel very stupid not to take this chance to live and work in the US.\nAfter a few setbacks of me not being able to go to college there (my parents wouldn't let me because they're not sure of letting me living alone there even though we have a relative there), my parents finally let me go there for work. Thank you Peter. You are doing a great job. Please i need your advise. My daughter got admission in Lethbridge college Alberta. We have even pay 1year tuition fee. But since march 28th 2023 we have not heard from IRCC whether approved or rejected. And school has even withdrawn the admission on 1st of August. We filled one form we found in their page to know the application status. They replied is in the queue. Is there anything we can do.
