I always wondered why I had to be here when the snow tilted between 45 and 60 degrees in winter and hit my face at 30-40 km/h.\nquality of food, transportation, service from employees, speed of processing time, etc there were many things that made me really unsatisfied being living in Toronto.\nsame, at the first time I came Toronto, everything looks great. but not anymore \nI'm korean and I feel really unsafe when I go and live abroad. Korea, Japan, Singapore mainly all Asian countries are top 5 in safety all over the world I think. \nAsia especially Korean and Japan have great service, quality of food with reasonable price. I think I don't need to move foreign country. \nmy background is in South Korea but I can say living in Toronto Canada was horrible and harsh for Korean. Because of multiple reasons but the harsh weather is the biggest for me. Feels like winter in Toronto is 7~8 months long if I compare it to winter in Korea. Fall and Spring?? No, they don't have fall and spring and it's all winter. they have snow in early September late April or May. It was horribly hard because the cold air from the arctic and really powerful wind came all together. even though the weather and temperature look a little bit off from Korea, Canada has a much more harsh location with weather. not only harsh weather but they do provide really embarrassing experience such as expensive payment for everything, a lot of factors disturb me from leaking money. I don't think Canada is a good country. my view of this country totally has been changed 3 years ago.

Hello choco, please I want to know how long it takes for ircc to approve a work visa after doing biometric? I application for work visa and it been 15 weeks after my biometric and I'm still waiting for my visa to be approved. What should I do?

I live in Italy for long time because of such difficulties my families are still in Ghana. I don't want to bring them over here to face that different education to end up doing labour job in a factory.

The wait times are too long in Canada. It can be several hours to the next day. My dad went to emergency when his stomach was hurting and he couldn't even get seen and he chose to go home and just rest. I had an at the time undiagnosed eye disease and had eye pain with my left eye closed up and wasn't able to get seen by anyone for quite awhile either. As I knew that over time my eye would eventually open up, I checked out of the E.R. and went home. That was during New Year's as well. It wasn't a great way to welcome 2016.

Canada’s health system is amazing, as long as you are not sick. Wait times and rules around who qualifies for particular tests or treatments have gotten ridiculous and sometimes frightening. I personally have to wait a month or so to get an appt with my doc. My sister in law in NC gets Cadillac care in the US but has great insurance.

I married my spouse and moved to the United States from Canada. Before, I didn't give the US much thought and merely loved travelling to a few of the locations. Having said that, even after spending five years there, I have never witnessed a country and a population as divided as the US. You proudly display your flag, yet you're so racist, illiterate, and a bible-thumper that it disgusts me. The United States is not the most free country in the world, despite what the public believes and thinks. In reality, it is also depressing to observe how the healthcare system handles people. The social safety net is completely missing, and by that I mean that most jobs don't pay for maternity leaves or vacations unless you work at a senior level or for a high-end company. The political system is so rigged that it is understandable why people are tired of voting every two years, and perhaps even every year. Most certainly, especially since your elections begin almost exactly when the previous one finished. I suppose I could go on forever, but I'll stop here. Although Canada is not perfect, is not free from controversy or problems, and is not the best at everything, we are able to concede defeat, acknowledge that someone was wrong or that we might have done better, work together with one another, and express that we are SORRY. Yes, it is a word that is never used in the US, and that is also the issue. I'm pleased to be back in Canada, where I belong, and I regret ever leaving. Yes, returning to Canada feels peaceful and inviting compared to travelling to the US, where every trip involves an interrogation to ensure that you don't remain too long. There is no need to worry because I won't be returning to stay, only visit, as previously.

I've been to Toronto in my teenage​ years, which was a very long time​ ago-- 1982!!! At that time, I was amazed by how modern and comfy the city looked. All that I needed​ was there: beautiful​ apartments, Chinese​ food, and excellent​ shopping​ (Eaton Center). I haven't​ been​ back since then and a visit​ would​ be great. I current​ly reside in Bangkok​ and​ have been​ here​ ever since I return​ed from US after​ having​ finished my Masters Degree. Maybe I will​ be able to show my family​ Toronto, and show​ myself as well in a trip in the​ not too distant future. Great simple and clear review of beautiful​ Toronto.

In Quebec if you went to the ER with a minor injury you could wait as long as 12-18 hours to be seen by a DR.

I moved from small town British Columbia to Houston Texas about 32 years ago. Was very lucky to be able to live in several different states in those 32 years. In the beginning of 2023 I moved back up to Canada (temporarily) and I cannot wait to get back to United States. \n\nAlthough I love Canada, because it is my homeland, it is simply not anything close to what the United States is. While, both countries have their warts, the United States is, and always will be, simply better in measurable every way.\n\nWhen I hear somebody talk about the free healthcare in Canada, I remind them that there are no doctors available. I remind them how high their taxes are and how long of a wait there is to get any sort of operation. Yes, it’s more expensive than the United States, but for my dollar the care is better and I can get it quicker.\n\nDon’t even get me started about the economy up here, it’s ridiculous.\n\nCanadians are polite? I drive a car with US plates and I’ve been told to go back to where I came from more times than I can count. You might say I must be a jerk to have that got a response but I assure you. I’m like anyone else I have my moments, but overall I’m a pretty chill person.\n\nCan’t wait to get back.

Visit visa yo right and correct thou there other channels, you could enroll for a short course at any college or university, after you can b legit to apply for a work permit.. You could give in for asylum, looks pretty a long process but also if done tactfully that's one of the most legit ways. Alot of emigrants have different sucesful stories. Still if yo in Canada you can look for work and work illegally to fend for the small probs as u pursue legit paperwork its possible 100 percent thou risky

The pregnant woman, the reason she probably moved back is because all Canadians get paid maternity leave for 1 year, and I think extended coverage you can get up to 18 months, after having a kid. It's not your full pay, but a good chunk of it. As long as you were employed for a certain time before giving birth, or reaching a certain stage in your pregnancy Im not sure EXACTLY how it works. America you get 3 months off... unpaid. Forcing most parents with no benefit from work to struggle financially just to watch their kid, or hire expensive help, and have a stranger watch and raise your 3 month old for half the time.

Lived in Upstate NY to attend graduate school. Loved the community and made life-long friends. But, when I returned to Canada, I realized I had taken on a NY brashness in dealing with others. Actually scared a young McDonald’s worker by using a common NY style demanding tone. Opps had to relearn to being a polite patient Canadian.

Sooooo.. here is my own side of the story .. i am happy he said *if you are stable*… well for most ppl in a situation like mine.. jobless here in Nigeria or living on 50k salary, no connection to get good jobs, nobody willing to help, getting a canadian visa is like winning the lottery.. its hard dere but i bet we will b able to cope nd cnt complain bcos it already is hard here too(worse)… we cn start small and grow… as for the racism honestly the tribalism here too is real.. all i am trying to say is what can they throw at us that we havnt already experienced, i mean ppl in my class… so was i happy when i got my visa some months ago? 100%.. also 100% ready for the new challenge.. long story short there are two sides to being an immigrant… please correct me if i am wrong ?

I’ve been privileged to actually live and work for long periods of time in USA, Netherlands, and China…and in a variety of locations in each country. Until recently, I’d have chosen Canada without hesitation. Canada has been rocketing into an ideological cesspool rivalling China, but so has USA and the Netherlands. As for the future…if I were middle aged (as opposed to OLD!) I would go to southeast USA Fla or Tx. Not because they are ‘better ‘ right now, but I believe USA still has a chance to sort itself out but Canada is simply too screwed up and corrupt (morally, politically, socially, & financially) to recover at least in my lifetime. I was living in northern China (Harbin) when that idiot Trudeau became PM and hoped he had a chance to improve things in general. But it is clear he (or whoever is pulling his vapid strings) has been a disaster and his current opposition shows signs of being equally awful. I believe US citizens care far more for their constitution and freedoms and more aware of the perilous situation they’re in than Canadians, many of whom still believe we have a functioning health care system. All this is coming to you from a Canadian septuagenerian, highly educated by what was (decades ago) the best educational system in the Western Hemisphere. One who benefited from a wonderful health care system before it got farmed out to private corporations and became a haven for niche specialties while starving out the family physicians who were the front line for proactive family care. Can u tell I’m cranky yet? ?? Might as well laugh about it at this point. P.S. Tyler, with all due respect, because I enjoy watching your channel, you seemed to equate “Upstate New York” with New York City in your example of Toronto not representing all of Canada. Upstate New York is that part of New York state that is everything BUT New York City and Long Island.

@14:30. There are treatments or procedures that Canadian Provincial health systems do not cover, then you have to pay full price. Example is growth lumps growing on your head under the hair. In Ontario it is not a life saving issue, so it is out of pocket. In British Columbia it is covered by their plan, just have to see how long the waiting list is. My wife went threw this.

Canada is a great country if you wanna be a dependent slave to the government. No guns, free speech is policed and your children can be taken away if you dont agree with them taking hormones and having their genitals mutilated. I went to Long Beach California for a trade show. Walking back to my hotel There was a gated community with beautiful homes and I was thinking how slummy it is across the street. All this as police cars flying by at high speed sirens blaring. I thought jokingly they were on their way to my hotel. I was born and raised in BC. This is not the same country i grew up in and its only getting worse. Luckily for me my father is American and has been living in Hawaii for the last 35 years. So that is where I am headed for a few years. If Trudeau gets the boot I may come back. But as long as he is the PM he is going to continue to destroy this country

I am a self-employed professional, I consider myself very well paid. On the down side, I have endocrinological issues which in turn cause hart and kidney problems. I've had a couple of long(ish) hospital stays in the past 18 months in addition to one major and one minor surgeries. All this to say that despite my high income, I could never afford to live South of the Canada/Us border.

In Canada even with insurance you have to upfront payment for dental visits, optometry visits and mental health visits. Also for some medications as well, doctors note, and for ambulance ride. Only thing you don’t pay upfront for with or without insurance in Canada is clinic walk in visit. But can be very long wait times sadly.

As a Canadian, I am convinced most people here have blinders on. Canada is on the brink of collapse both fiscally and morally.\n\nJust watch as our illiberal government continues to wreak havoc. It won't be long now.

Having lived in both the US and Canada, I would say our Healthcare professionals are on par with one another. There is no real difference between the quality of care you will receive in Canada versus the USA. The doctors and Healthcare professionals are equally competent and very well trained.

They are able to refer you to a work history that is BEST for the patient. There's very little bragging about how many appendectomies you did today. Doctor x gets a negotiated salary. That means there's no spedway operating rooms, unless that's the case, at the moment. I'm such a klutz, I would either die from poverty, or starve to death, to meet the payments to stay alive. You probably try the James Bond thing. Don't have any conversations with people who you REALLY don't know. Stayin alive! I would bet everything I can afford that if those interviews were done today you'd hear a very different point of view. \n\nThe cost of living here is unprecedented. Everything in Canada is double the price after inflation. A 250k apartment USD is 650k in Canada (500K USD). You may need to pay for your health care, but at least you are allowed to get care as soon as you find the money for it. This is not an option here. If you are dying, and on a wait list, there's no way out. You just need to pray your surgery will still work once your name comes up in a year, two years.. However long it takes.

This is just a guess, but it seems that the reason your ER/ doctor office wait times are shorter is that because cost only those who have serious or long-time symptoms go to get checked out. \nIn Canada, we will get checked out sooner.

Canada has high quality every thing as well. The only issue I have with our health care (in Ontario it is called O.H.I.P. - Ontario Health Insurance Plan) is that sometimes there are long waits for specialists and specialized tests. I have had a reason to be a burden on our heath care system recently. In December of last year I did some major damage to my arm (severed the vein, nerve and muscle that works the inside part of my left arm). I had an argument with my angle grinder while using a thin metal cut off blade. My angle grinder won the fight! I was in hospital for 19 days, had three surgeries, attended an out patient hand therapy clinic for 5 months, had a nurse come to my home to change my dressing twice a week for 5 months, then attended a nursing health care facility for four months, and about 5 follow up visits (so far!) with the plastic surgeon. I know what this cost me in Canada. $0.00. Any guesses what that would have cost with no medical plan in the U.S.? Me either but I know I would have that debt for a long time I'm sure!

Have the 700 to 1000 students whose immigration application for permanent resident status been deported back to india.. They need to be deported back to Punjab. The community is over representrd in Canada and not in a good. Why is 18 ,% of crime in Canada associated to just one community. The appearance of Delta and Brampton will vastly improve if you see other folks there.. Indian government should shutdown the Canadian consulate in punjab. Isn't Punjab the most backward state in Present day india.. Green revolution is long over. Dont need hear annoying Punjabi music being played loudly from cars in Brampton and Delta.

No matter what anyone thinks but a BJP Government in punjab is the necessary to sort the problems, all other parties implement policies just for appeasement not for actual ground work. Long tern policies would be bit painful but will sort most of the problems of Punjab.

Love it here in Toronto, Im lucky though i dont pay crazy high rent even though im itching to move for some odd reason. Maybe because I know I cant be here forever, I live in an old building that wont last, isnt mine and will be forced to move out when soemoen else buys it, like I was at my previouse apartment, which is my only problem, all he condo development, basically kicking out poorer people, thats why rent is high, but they're going to have to live with no sun in the city when all those towers block it. That being said the areas is just so bueatiful, it feels like its nestled in a forest, then the lake, its a great spot. Got 4 the seasons, i hear ist the most diverse city in the world racially and its climate is just as diverse going from -30 some winters to well above +30 some summers and everything in between. That being said I am getting tired of the city life and looking for a change although i think Toronto has a lot more potential and is actually underrated right now and will just get better. Maybe not more cheaper, but hopefully politicians will wise up and stop selling out for short term profits for long term problems.

Canada has become “Land of Hardship “ . Employment is hard to find to match your qualifications. There is no job security. You could be fired without proper explanation. Discrimination is always there though not openly. Specially in higher positions. Houses have become unaffordable. Food costs are rising every day. Waiting times in hospitals emergency is too long and getting worse. For surgery you have to wait months. My brother died by falling from stairs in his house while waiting for knee replacement surgery. Things are not getting better at any time. After working hard all your life when you retire your pension is not enough to live a comfortable lifestyle. With inflation your retirement becomes “hand to mouth “ life. After spending almost all my life in Canada my brother and friends in India have become much richer, happier and healthier than I am today.

Hey, be negative. I hate the positivity cult. Be honest. The world is falling apart. Let's not mince words. This is a global crisis. America has been crap for a long time, but it's sad to see Canada now going through the same, and deteriorating. Such a beautiful country. I remember being there years ago, and the energy was so much lighter, uplifting, and I always loved this about Canada in general. It was always the nicer bit of N. America....but now it's much like what the USA is experiencing with insane prices, housing crisis, drugs, crime, homelessness, etc. I don't feel this will get better anytime soon. I think we need to demand some serious changes, and they need to start with forcing down the costs of living, whether they like it or not. It's a giant scam. Anyone who knows what is really going on, and why, knows that it's not even 'the market', but it's predatory price gouging. People are charging high prices because they can, not because it's actually worth that. And no one is stopping them. Same with food, and everything else.

The people that come here thinking it is some easy life with gold paved streets you have NO IDEA. My mom came here when me and my sister were still very young. We lived in a tiny town my mom worked at a cannery and motel cleaning rooms. She worked 5 jobs before she saved enough to move to Toronto. We lived in a shelter for mothers and children in Toronto. We finally settled in affordable housing (after long waitlist). Folks be warned, it is not an easy life. The climb is challenging- it is a climb out of a pit up a mountain. The country is beautiful and peaceful but life is not easy. You have to work very hard to make a decent life for yourself.

I moved in Toronto in 2015 and been living here since then. I was really happy to move here and became a resident and citizen. It was what I wanted for a long time. Now I can’t deny the fact that I’m not feeling in alignment with this city anymore. Hustle & bustle to cover your basic physiological needs get in the way of my peace and mental health. It has even become stronger after the shutdown. I’m currently planning my solo packaging trip to South East Asia and really considering moving out of Canada in the next year.

I can't talk from a point of experience in Canada but from a point of experience in Kenya. Yes things are tough everywhere but I believe things are tuffer here in Kenya, well unless you have a good job, good business or money to invest. I have done of research about Canada, Germany, UK and even Finland. What I have learnt is that opportunities are there as opposed to Kenya. Here in Kenya it's doesn't matter if you have a skill, or papers getting a job is not easy and even harder is getting a good paying job. Most people makes less 10 CAdollars per day which today 1000 or 30 per month minimum wage in Canada is i guess 14.5 in the less expensive provinces. If you work 14 hours per \nDay which I believe possible you have about uko na 20k in ksh, pay tax of maybe 30% combined you have about 130 cad per day work for 25 days in a month you will have about 3250 net stay in most affordable place(hujaenda raha) you can get 1250 in low cost province (not Ontario or BC though here minimum wage iko juu), groceries and expenses budget 1000 per month you can save about 100k ksh pm, save in Cad for few years stay like a student on the budget but work like a donkey. Come back home in few years lets say 5 with save coins probably CAD will trading at 150 coz the hit shilling is taking mind-blowing. You will have 6m to invest any interest or forex gain use them to cover your vacation here in Kenya yes land in Diani you will have missed such weather, enda masai Mara (you deserve it), go visit your parents and most importantly find an investment opportunity you can do real estate but find ideal location but only if you have enough capital ya kujenga and then find someone professional to manage the construction not sending money to your relatives wanapiga sherehe nazo unatumiwa picha za mjengo za nyumba za wenyewe. Pia farming is underated buy a farm land in cheap area ukambani, laikipia, kajiado, taita etc at max 200k per acre 10 acres ni 2m borehole 1.5m with solar and pump. Divide the farm into 5 parts along the fence panda miti ya eucalyptus, other parts do high value perennial cash crops with less management cost like 2 acres of avocado, 2 acres of pixes oranges, lime, the other 2 plant seasonal rotational plants you can even maize, cabbages io ingine do livestock of your choice. If you want low risk investment buy government bond less stress and you are sure government can never fail to repay their local currency bonds ata ikiwa bankrupt coz they can always print more money. Now rates are very high assuming you can get 10% rates with your 6m your will earn 600k risk free income. Your vacation is over, now go back to Canada and work like a donkey because you went there to work, not a vacation.
