I know how much they get....Eritrean rufugees get 82,000 per year, in payments. This system is broken....I've seen the paperwork through a co-worker (Refugee).

The refugees get more money than seniors in pension even tho they worked in Canada and played taxes for 40-50 years. That is sad!!! People just walking across the border claming refugees status or silent seekers get money, housing, eyewear. Healthcare for free. What the f.... is wrong with people running the government .

It does work… In the end, after 10 years, the liberals won again. I don’t see any reason for them to change their ways if it brings them success in our democracy. The new immigrants make a powerful voting block and as your numbers increase, their power will also increase… And I do think Canada is a very attractive destination, given all the government subsidies… Healthcare, dental care, child care, Pharma care… Subsidized, housing… To say nothing of the special refugee and immigrant programs…

The points system is why Canadians have a good impression of immigrants. When you let in english or french speaking well or over-educated new citizens, people will have a good impression of these hardworking people. When you let in gobs of just anyone.. you end up with Brampton, Ontario, or Sweden, where foreign nationals have brought their own opinion of how life should be to a previously high trust/well functioning area. Like the opposite of gentrification. Basically slumification, a reduction in trust, an increase in crime, an increase in corruption.. Who would have thought there would one day be new Canadian citizens calling for Sharia Law in Canada? That is when immigration "jumped the shark", and the system needs fixing. And Canada already has the fix: Limit immigration to economically well off migrants who meet the points quota: ie, they are educated and speak english or french. And greatly restrict refugees... we have enough homeless and economically useless people, we do not need more.

Yep we are screwed big time, here in Moncton New Brunswick we only used to have a small number of Immigrants usually a mix of francophone students and refugees properly vetted by immigration. Jobs were available for everyone, a small example is the taxi cab drivers who were usually a mix of older semi retired Canadians, Sudanese and Syrian refugees who communicated well and tried to adapt to their new home, Canada. COVID hit and we started seeing Punjabi’s coming in unprecedented numbers, they say as students, from Brampton Ontario?Overnight all Walmart, Taxi/Truck Driving jobs, Tim Hortons, McDonalds were Punjabi jobs who do we blame? Rents are high, jobs once available are unavailable life has become hard where do we run same people voted again for the same government that has destroyed us 😢😢😢.

Canada used and earned money from international students and put so many rules them to leave. Canada doesn't want educated ppl they want refugees to run their country. Those who doesn't even have any language Proficiency. This country is run by headless ppl. They have to enrol int. Students from other countries not only India. Iran , Sudan they give easy work permit and PR. But those who did Masters studies no points.

Ive got no problem with LEGAL economic migration. Or coming as a refugee if you want to come here, work, and obey our laws then i am happy to welcome you. But if your gonna ponce our welfare programs and not assimilate into our cultures and commit crimes then we don't want you. Your not welcome. Its as simple as that

My husband and I were both immigrants to Canada, he from S. Africa, I from the UK. I never experienced any discrimination. My busband was diagnosed with late stage bone cancer at 31 years old. The medical care was so good that he lived another 6 mostly happy years. We were supported by the Ontario Health Care system with visiting nurses, even housekeepers and received every help we could possibly need, at no cost to us. I will always be grateful for the love and support we received from Canadian friends, employers and the medical professionals. What a country! I am in Europe now but feel strongly that Canada, the EU, Britain, the wonderful Ukrainians (I know quite a few refugees) and other countries of good will should work together for a better world. We are a family and families support each other in difficult times. Americans welcome when they are ready.

Before the US election, any concern about Trump's radical proposals was dismissed as falling for his hyperbole or over-reaction, that Trump was just babbling and didn't actually mean half of what he said on any given day. And this was the argument from those trying to defend his campaign. now, watching him deliver on one whackadoo plan after another.. so freaking depressing. The only bright star I have found is that there are still functioning democracies around the world. Never thought I would become a refugee of a totalitarian state. That is now in the realm of possible futures.

I am Canadian and I am envious of Americans because you have a leader who can stand for you guys, Canada’s economy has been suffering with his leadership even before Trump was elected but he is supporting /funding war , giving out tax payers to refugees he has been bringing who don’t contribute to tax. Hear him more concerned to Americans as opposed to announcing to us Canadians what is his plan for Canada to address tariff! As someone living in Canada... I actually don't feel much of the things mentioned in the video. Sure, wages are not growing as fast as it can, but as someone who managed to purchase a home *before* the bubble started to expand, I'm living steady right now.\n\nWhat is REALLY causing a large part of the social and economic issues is actually the fact that provinces are NOT expanding new towns and cities in the millions of kilometers that needs to grow. Everyone is moving into cities, including refugees and new immigrants, which is driving up local prices and demand for everything. A few years ago, there were literally news of townships outside of the major cities offering houses and land for $50 per acre if people move to those towns and live there. \n\nCanada's biggest (heh) advantage is how much land it has. It's biggest weakness is how little comparative population it has. The worst problem is the concentration of population in like 6 keys cities throughout the entire country. If more people who complain about housing or social issues were willing to move outside of the major cities, they wouldn't have those problems.
