Im about ready to dip from the U.S.
2025-03-04 0
I as a Canadian I'm concerned. But in reality I'm more sad for the Half of America who aren't on Trumps side. From what I've seen, it's almost the brink of civil war. \nWhen has Russia ever been a U.S ally??? Has history been forgotten already???

I genuinely wonder what a balance sheet would like before tariffs between what Canada gains from U.S. vs U.S. benefiting from Canada. I’m neutral because I don’t know enough. But I feel like that would be a good place to start before putting the last few months at the forefront.

Many people do not understand how tariffs impact the importation of goods and services. Canada lacks the infrastructure to produce the minerals required for electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing. Additionally, Canada does not possess the same international influence as the United States, particularly in military matters. As a result, Canadians may face more significant challenges, as their economy relies more on U.S. trade than the United States' reliance on Canada. Overall, Canada has a less developed economy and limited global influence.

Canada's president can give a concise speech without ever using teleprompters. Maybe the U.S. can become a province of Canada.

Trump's going to bankrupt the U.S. just as he has many of his businesses. As an American, I can't wait to move up to Canada. I'm absolutely embarrassed to be a born and raised American citizen. I'm embarrassed and ashamed by many other fellow citizens and by the choices the current government is making. I'm also continually perplexed and ashamed by the continued mistakes our country continues to make every damn year and decade.

I agree with Trudeau. Everything the U.S. has done it has done to itself and the U.S. government is to blame for putting its own citizens at risk and jeopardizing the security of Americans by marginalizing domestic civilians to the role of consumer to the point that families get torn apart and homes get wrecked. Mark my words this U.S. government is a home-wrecker, not your faithful government servant that worked in the best interest of Americans alike from the Atlantic to the pacific coast.

Thank you, Prime Minister Trudeau, for your steadfast leadership in these challenging times. Your clear and decisive response to the unjustified U.S. tariffs demonstrates a commitment to protecting Canadian interests and upholding the integrity of your nation's economy. \n\nIt's reassuring to witness a leader who can speak sense and stand firm against unwarranted actions. \n\nYour dedication to maintaining strong international relationships while addressing internal challenges reflects true statesmanship. Canada is fortunate to have such principled guidance as we navigate these complexities together. #IStandWithCanada

So sorry, Canada, dear neighbor!\nAs a U.S. citizen, I am saddened and ashamed of the cruelty, unfairness, and untruthfulness of our present administration.
2025-03-04 0
So for everyone fawning over Trudeau's ability to be articulate, that is impressive to you only because the U.S. has had a piece of steamed broccoli named Biden as a figure head for the last 4 years.\nI can't say I understand Trump's strategy with respect to Canada, but I absolutely know that Trump is no Socialist like Trudeau is. I am happy to wait and see how this shakes out because Trump has been right on so, so many things. No one is perfect, not Trump and not Trudeau. Maybe it's not about drugs. Maybe Canada could offer to go back to respecting individual liberties and free speech in return for the elimination of U.S. tariffs. Sounds like something Trump would agree to.

Im a Vet. Im still Team U.S point blank. Dont worry about us, we will be fine.

As a U.S citizen that voted for the current President, I stand by our President ? percent. He is the one Americans voted for by the millions to be our leader.

canada just good in talking ..70% of us money goes to canada..without u.s canada will not survive..trump is right..

Is Canada allowing any refugees from the U.S.??? I’m not joking. My whole family lives in red states like Indiana, Texas, and Kentucky (okay Ky is more purple I guess but definitely leans red despite the amazing blue Governor). We all want to move. It’s only 5 people but 3 of them are elderly. Is there any hope for us?
2025-03-04 0
Unfortunately Trump supporters won't listen to a word of this. Trump is just trying to weaken the Canadian economy so they're more willing to join us. Trying to strong arm every country surrounding the U.S. I want you to know that most Americans are against this shit.

Europe has just announced an 800 billion Euro defence plan; I bet they’d be very interested in Canada’s critical minerals. Canadians will not forget this; this has damaged our relationship with the U.S. and it may never recover. We cannot forget that Americans voted this man back into power knowing who and what he is; they somehow believed that he was magically going to lower the cost of eggs, end a war and save the economy. Canadians will never trust that Americans won’t again elect someone so stupid and pathetically unfit to lead their country; we have to start cutting the trade ties now so that we will never be this vulnerable again. I do agree with Dumpty that we need to pull our weight militarily, so we need to invest in our security and we also need to align ourselves with Europe since Dumpty is clearly aligning the U.S. with Russia.

I'm a U.S. citizen and I'm with Canada on this! Way to alienate our friends, Trump!
2025-03-04 0
the U.S is not a trustworthy ally anymore. The U.S has always had the best and smartest people in the world, but sadly U.S citizens chose to elect a dumb person as it's leader and now they all have to pay the price... really sad.

Just cancel my Hoilday in the U.S I’am from Ireland ?? \nI stand with Canada ? stay strong ? I will go to Canada ? instead \nThanks for the invite ?

Trump went against the trade deal that he made with Canada and Mexico when he renegotiated the existing deal during his first term. Trump called his deal with them beautiful and perfect. Trump does not keep the deals he makes to other countries or to the Americans who voted for him. \n\nTrump's final push in his campaign was to cut costs for Americans at the checkout, chuckling at the strange sound of the word 'groceries' to him. He has never worried about or dealt with buying groceries. The moment he got back into office, he said that lower prices wasn't happening and that the American people would suffer. \n\nThen he and Republicans began cuts in jobs and government services to Americans as well as others in the world, so that no one can trust Trump --- and in the case of others in the world, it reflects so bad on the U.S. and against any trust in the U.S. anymore. No president has ever done so much damage at home and abroad so quickly. \n\nTrump is the Deceiver and the Destroyer. Trump doesn't care if his voters figure it out. They are no longer needed.

If we compare Trump’s tariff policies with the approach taken during Smooth-Hawley Tariff Act (1930), there are striking similarities and key differences in terms of economic impact and global consequences. Here’s a comparison:\n\nSimilarities:\n\t1.\tProtectionist Goals:\n\t•\tBoth Trump’s tariffs and the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act were implemented to protect domestic industries by imposing heavy tariffs on foreign goods.\n\t•\tSmoot-Hawley raised tariffs on over 20,000 imported goods, while Trump has imposed significant tariffs on China, Canada, Mexico, and the EU.\n\t2.\tRetaliation by Other Nations:\n\t•\tAfter the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act, U.S. trading partners retaliated with their own tariffs, leading to a massive decline in U.S. exports.\n\t•\tTrump’s tariffs are already facing retaliation from Canada, Mexico, China, and the EU, which could slow down global trade.\n\t3.\tMarket Instability & Economic Risk:\n\t•\tThe Smoot-Hawley tariffs are widely believed to have exacerbated the Great Depression by restricting global trade and worsening economic conditions.\n\t•\tTrump’s tariffs are triggering stock market declines, price inflation, and global trade tensions, raising fears of a potential recession.

Canada annex the U.S.

U.S. Army Vet here. I stand with Canada and the American people.

As a UK citizen living in Canada, I’ve seen how much the U.S. has damaged its relationship with Canada, and I don’t think things will ever be the same. I don’t even blame Trump—I blame the American people for electing a corrupt criminal.\n\nThe reality is, Americans are going to feel the consequences far more than Canadians. You’re the only NATO country without universal healthcare, your education system ranks among the worst in the developed world, worker protections are almost nonexistent, social security is severely lacking, and now, thanks to your election choice, you’ll be paying at least 25% more for groceries under a leader who’s steering the country toward authoritarianism.\n\nIt’s embarrassing. The world no longer revolves around America, and people are tired of its self-centered, individualistic mindset. It’s time to wake up.

Trudeau,PLEASE be our president for u.s.
2025-03-04 0
Canada has a population of 40 million while the U.S. has 330 million. Take a wild guess why Canada has a trade surplus with the United States.
2025-03-04 0
Canada is not merely a friend to the U.S. It is family.\n\nAs a U.S. American, I side with and support my sibling – the Canadian people, and their government – in this needless, stupid attack by the U.S. President against them and his own people.
2025-03-04 0
Canada is a drop in the ocean that is the U.S Economy. the U.S will not feel the affects of reciprocal tarrifs like canadians will. This is about pride of a single man. Rather than co-operate with Trump, Trudeau has signed a death warrant on his own country's economy.

Canadian PM a TRUE Gentleman with 'spine'; U.S President a a 'spineless' self-serving and crimminally convicted felon!\nPeriod/
2025-03-04 0
It's the U.S. right to isolate. But I am doubtful if this makes the U.S. great again.
2025-03-04 0
Here is another approach to Trumps tariff. Any country like Canada, China and Mexico etc etc. All these countries can tell Trump shove it. Stop importing goods into the U.S. find other countries that can and replace the U.S. and watch America and Republicans literally collapse. Just a thought Tariff means customer will pay more for sure.

As American I want Canada to turn off the power because the U.S needs to learn a lesson

When Putin is finished with Ukraine, he is coming for the U.S. We will have no allies left to defend us. Just as he wants it. Trump is Putin's puppet.
2025-03-04 0
Stop saying the U.S. It's Donald Trump. This didn't happen under Biden, or Clinton or Obama. NAFTA. Trump is the FAULT.

The U.S. has an infant for a leader and the world has a dangerous idiot who wants to be Stalin.

Russia in the future : we will not stand back and watch our ally The United States to be in turmoil from all the protest and people going against Democracy. Trump won fair and square, and we will be sending our armed forces to help the U.S control this situation.

Once in history, there were very wealthy, mighty, and prosperous powers: Egypt, Rome, Greece, and Macedonia. They collapsed one day or step by step and never fully recovered. What remains of them today are the Pyramids, the Coliseum, the Acropolis, and some minor relics in Macedonia. The same fate awaits any superpower sooner or later. While the U.S. and Russia aren’t empires in the traditional sense, they dominate the world stage today. But history has shown time and again—no power stays on top forever.

Putin managed to take the U.S. without ever firing shot! All thanks to weak, weak, dementia Don! Ukraine has managed to stave off Russian violence and military action for more than 3 years! The U.S. has turned their backs on their allies and licks the boots of a dictator! The gloves are off! Elbows Up, Canada! ❤️???✊️❤️?? ???

Pretty obvious.... give russia ukraine and let the u.s .have Canada... bullies want the world.

Stop calling it U.S tariffs. Call it Trump tariffs. The U.S. people does not support this.
2025-03-04 0
If you dont want it make it fair trade, not a deficit to the u.s. for your trade,

No one likes Trudeau not even most of his own people go away already you ruined Canada . Get a common sense PRIME minister that can bring back Canada to its glory a respectful SUPPORTER from the U.S.
2025-03-04 0
Who cares? Seriously Of course he's upset. Canada relies heavily on the U.S., with about 75% of its exports going to America, making us a major contributor to their GDP. Instead of making other countries richer, we should focus on manufacturing and building here at home. This would keep more money circulating in the U.S., boosting economic growth and strengthening our own GDP. A stronger domestic economy means more jobs, higher wages, and greater financial stability for Americans. Regardless of who’s president, we need fair trade policies that benefit the U.S. just as much as our partners.

Trump is a bully. He knows that Canada is vulnerable. Trump wants the Auto industry in Canada moved to the U.S.. This will increase the cost of vehicles in the U.S. Trump does not care. If he can harm Canada he will be pleased. He wants to control Canada.. Canada is guilty of not arranging an alternative to the Keystone pipeline. The U.S. refineries need the Canadian heavy oil. If Canada had created pipelines to Vancouver they would be in a better position but as it is Trump wins.

Canada has been mooching off the U.S. for years, time to take responsibility and make your own money, no free handouts anymore ??? #merica

Now I believe he is a Russian asset… for real.. too bad the U S military can’t remove him….everyone is now emasculated. Success for Russian intel…they were able to infiltrate U.S. at highest level.

As tensions rise in Eastern Europe, the importance of steadfast leadership within NATO has never been clearer. France and Germany, long considered the backbone of the alliance, have stepped up with decisive action, reinforcing NATO’s eastern flank with strategic troop deployments and economic resilience. French President Émile Laurent and German Chancellor Anna Weber have demonstrated a commitment to European security, bolstering defense spending, coordinating joint military exercises, and ensuring the alliance remains united against growing threats. Their leadership has reassured smaller NATO members that Europe’s security remains a priority, even as transatlantic relations waver.\nAcross the Atlantic, however, Washington’s indecisiveness and political gridlock have left NATO partners questioning America’s long-term commitment. While previous U.S. administrations led with clear strategic vision, the current White House has struggled to project strength, often sending mixed signals on critical global issues. Despite these challenges, European leadership has proven that NATO’s stability does not rest solely on American shoulders. France and Germany’s firm diplomacy and strategic coordination have kept the alliance on course, ensuring that collective defense remains ironclad, even in the absence of strong guidance from the United States.

Trudeau can either kiss Uncle Sams ring or Uncle Sam's ass. It's up to him. I say raise it another 25%. If Canadian leadership is so great they dont need trade with the U.S. right? So fk off. Lets see how well you do?
