Picking a trade war with Canada, Mexico, China and major economics is a very bad idea. It will not bring anybody to the negotiation table to get a better deal. It will drive them away from US partnership and they form alliances, new trade routes and partnerships, de-dollarization, etc. Just think why does a country needs USD when they cannot trade with US. BRICS have overtaken G7 in the overall GDP. So, In the end, US will be left alone with limited trading partners. US people will need to pay for tax + tariffs which will put them in a downward spiral.

I am Canadian, and I want to speak to the USA, as a concerned citizen who valued the relationship that we once had between our two countries: please realize that we do NOT want to declare this as any form of “attack”, that these are solely defensive measures against your current administration’s lack of respect towards us as a people and as a country. \n\nPlease rest assured that we KNOW that not all of you voted for Trump, that there are those of you who realize what your current president is truly doing and do not support it. This is NOT about fentanyl. This NOT about money and how much each country was giving whom. We had a respectable trade deal that we were following, previously signed by Trump. We have always had a positive relationship together, business-wise and friendship-wise. Please also realize that, once your administration is no longer in control of our narratives in such a destructive manner, or it gets replaced by one that reverses this destructive policy, we will definitely reconsider our former relationship and we will work towards rebuilding it. \n\nIt is unfortunate for both sides here. We are aware of that. But “Canada Strong” is our way to remain forever a sovereign and free nation. Nothing more, nothing less. Always remember that.

If this trade war does not finally wake up MAGA, we might as well start breaking the US into individual countries with each having its own trade agreements. NO United States, NO President, No Trump or Elon, and No two-party system.

Fentanyl seizures going “into” the US from Canada is now so low is almost non-existent. Meanwhile Canada just seized 8.5 tonnes of cocaine going “from” the US into Canada just this week. Canada suffers way more illegal drugs and guns coming across the US border than the US has across the Canadian border. This is all the dumbest trade war declaration in history.

The US are initiating fights with allies instead of standing up to our enemies. Your preseident is only looking out for himself and his legacy, not the US citizens. Basic economic theory teaches you that anything that prevents free trade leads to a poorer outcome for society. It makes sense that you don't want this as you have been ripping us off for many years. All we want is free trade. What we have gotten is lopsided trade. FAFO. The USA has a strong leader now. We have plenty of options to fulfill our needs. A little bit of extra cost is worth it to bring our industry and jobs back here and rebalance our trade agreements. From the USA: Why is it right for Canada to tariff us more than we tariff them? Trump pointed out that there was a 200 billion a year tariff deficit for the USA. Some say that number is inflated and the real number is somewhere around the 70 billion mark in Canada's favor. No one disagrees that the US has a huge tariff deficit with Canada. So, the USA is just leveling the playing field. It's time to truly have level trade with the rest of the world, not just Canada. No more free lunch from the US to the world. We want free and fair trade, but for that to happen we must tariff other countries goods at exactly the same level they tariff our goods.

This trade war is only going to bring True Americans, Canadians and Mexicans closer together in solidarity against the Trump Regime.
