I am so glad that this is getting talked about now. I have to pay for school this September and I still don't have a job. I have been applying to places for over a year at this point and I have heard absolutely nothing from any of them. I always suspect its because companies would rather pay 50% of a full salary to an immigrant as opposed to a full salary for a Canadian citizen, and to be fair, I don't blame them. If I didn't wanna lose money, I'd do it too, which is why its a completely ridiculous way to operate things! Once I get older, I'm getting out of Canada. As much as I love our culture, that we should be protecting by the way, I can't stand to be here, maybe the northern US would suit me more? Idk

Everything about the video is so true and apt. I have been in Canada since 2014, and I have seen drastic changes in the country.\nBut I see you guys talk about protest in the first part of the video, but you did not really tell why they are protesting. \nA lot of students are protesting because they either want free education or they want the universities to make the exams easier for them.\nStudents are being deported because they got to Canada through a fake letter of acceptance. There is no bizarre reason for their deportation.\nStudents are not getting PR because the programs get full. It's not all students. You nailed the Indian pandemic in Canada. Ontario is being over run by Indians. It’s unbelievable. Everywhere you go, there is not one crevice that doesn’t have a brown person in it. As a person who works full time in a minimum wage job. It baffles me how my friend who is unemployed gets way more benefits and money than me. Thinking of just going on welfare soon.

i work full time and i am still broken and rent...... i pay 39% of my income to tax, not including gst, carbon tax and other taxes.... i need money..... no matter how much i work , i end up getting the similar amount of money...

Can someone explain why young Canadian citizens are on unemployment insurance and can’t find jobs. My peers who’ve lived in the same city their whole life are getting jobs stolen by immigrants. How are we supposed to start a career. We’re being forced into working physically demanding jobs despite having a full Canadian education. The government is forcing girls into healthcare and men into construction.

It's terrible. My little town had barely any immigrants at all. Now there are Indians everywhere. Also a massive increase in black population all of a sudden. Did Toronto get full? These students are from very wealthy families who often have housemaids and servants to do domestic chores and who can afford to pay ridiculous student tuition for a second-rate Canadian post-secondary education. There are top Indian schools where it costs maybe 1/8th the cost and the education is very, very good (e.g. Indian Institutes of Technology) and certainly better than what they are getting in these second-rate diploma mills in Ontario. Moreover, there are very good tech jobs in India in cities like Bangalore. What these students are really after is Canadian citizenship, through a pathway that does not require strong qualifications. They were promised that by Indian immigration consultants. With Canadian citizenship, it is much easier to travel and live in the US, where many of them want to go (and some are even now entering illegally). \nA second reason is that these younger adults want to live independently from their parents. Many of them arriving in Canada are living on their own or with other students, for the first time in their lives, and are enjoying a lot more freedom from Indian social norms such as not being able to date people of a different religion or sexual orientation, or to marry the person of their choice instead of having parents involved. Three or four generations ago, when a lot of immigrants came after WWII, those from India were coming to large research universities or engineering firms and had a job or full fee waiver or university fellowship waiting for them. They were much more qualified and went on to be doctors, professors, business people and other professionals. This is what largely composed the Indian diaspora in Canada, until this wave of students brought along by the current government which admitted over 200K Indian students -- per year.

I’m a Canadian nurse and I lived in the US for 10 years during my career. I did it when I was young to gain work experience and travel with friends. It gave me a lot of insight in how it feels to live in both countries. I’ve been a nurse and patient in both counties so I also know how it feels to work, live and be a resident in both. \n\nI cannot articulate enough how it has confirmed to me how fortunate I am to be Canadian. The perks to living in the US were very superficial and frivolous things that matter very little in the broad scheme of things,….which I see as more restaurant chains, cheaper restaurant food, more shopping options, etc. As a young person when I lived there,…those things seemed amazing but matter far less as I get older. \n\nWhen I lived there, I paid a fraction of the income taxes that I paid in Canada but it’s only short term gain for long term pain. The cost of health care, the amounts of gov funded benefits (disability, EI, pension, etc) in the US makes it well worth paying taxes to offset these things as in Canada. I have had cancer 3 times in 5 years and I’ve not paid a cent for treatment, scans, surgery, etc in Canada. My employer held my job for 2 years and I received long term disability of 70% of my yearly wages and my employer paid my full pension and benefits as I was off of work. After 2 years, my cancer returned and was deemed incurable so I will continue to receive this pay and benefits until I’m 65 and can retire as I can no longer work. I have no financial worries as I battle cancer. \n\nTo contrast,…my US employer was a world reknowned hospital that had excellent pay and benefits. Had I been working there when I was diagnosed with cancer, I would only have gotten full pay for 6 weeks until my sick time and vacation time was used up. Then I was eligible for a fraction of my income for 3 months, which would not be enough to live on. I would not have had my pension paid. After that, I’d receive no more pay and my employer would hold my job without pay for 6 months and then I’d be let go. My cancer required nearly 2 years off of work so after 5 months of this minimal pay, I’d have no income, no job and no benefits with a new pre existing condition to ensure that I’d have a snowballs chance in hell of getting future coverage. Meanwhile during that 5 months of some pay, I’d still need to pay huge costs of treatment despite having insurance but that would disappear after I was let go from my job. I’d have to return to work during my treatment just to afford to continue it. I have many US friends that had a similar cancer that worked throughout to cover basic cancer care while I was able to recuperate without working or fearing being unable to pay. There is nothing comparable to this when you are sick. It is everything!\n\nSadly, many of my American friends are very ill informed on how health care works in other countries and don’t see the shortcomings in their own. Ironically though, they are willing to argue it without proper information so I often find that bizarre. While lived there I felt as though I was in a bubble where the only news that I saw was US news. I saw no info or minimal about Canada in my whole time there,…aside from falsehoods about health care to scare people away from seeking change. “Canadians are all dying while waiting”, “they are all coming to the US for care”, “they pay 80% income tax” etc. All propaganda,…some from politicians or those that should know better. It was truthfully mind boggling to me how educated people could know so little about the world. It almost felt as though they heard so much propaganda about how terrible other places were while only having knowledge of the US, that it ensured that things would stay the same without anyone wanting beneficial changes to dysfunctional policies (like health care, cost of meds, lack of gun regulations, etc). It’s very bizarre.

As an immigrant and now a proud Canadian citizen I firmly believe that Canadians comes first. Full stop. This whole issue falls not just on these students but also on the feds who abused the international education route to bring in more people and make it lenient so they get more votes and keep winning elections but it backfired. This happened in the UK about 10 years ago. All these fake immigration consultancies and mediocre colleges should be shut down so these folks don't throw all their money into this hoping to get a PR. Most of these students can't even form a sentence in English. Yet somehow they get here. We have a massive hole in our immigration system. I hope this changes if and when Pierre takes over.

When you have an extra 451,000 people flooding in per year that require jobs in a very sparsely populated country you’re going to run into housing and job shortages, which increase demands, increasing prices and therefore increasing homeless because people can’t afford living and they can’t get a job because a requirement for being an immigrant is full time employment.

First hand knowledge here, while enjoying a day at a park, a Hindu/Paki or whatever they were numbering about 50 having a picnic/family get together, age ranging from 1-80 with 20 or so full grown men. Canadian companies are the problem as well. They pretend they can't find Canadians to work (been experiencing this since 1976) and then hire temporary foreign workers, and the illegal immigrants. The Canadian business owners then get Canadian government grants and subsidies from 50% to 70% to cover the temporary workers wages and more than likely when they hire illegal immigrants as well, along with kick backs for providing housing. Canadian companies also pay those workers under the table, especially in the hospitality industry, and lay off Canadians and keep the temporary foreign workers and pay them under the table. Now if the Canadian government would offer grants and subsidies when Canadian companies hire Canadians, more Canadians would have full time jobs with livable wages. The Canadian government has to stop allowing foreign entities from buying Canadian businesses as they only have to hire 1 Canadian. After that the foreign entities who bought Canadian businesses are allowed to bring in as many of their workers as they want. That has to be stopped as well.

They need to go home…..I was born in PEI and lived here all my life….it is so sad what has happened on our little island…media has people believing that no one here wants to work so we need these immigrants…..that is not true….i know many young people from here that can’t get a job…there are no doctors, apartments are all full, and our cost of living is through the roof…..our premier is so busy filling his pockets and doesn’t give a hoot about us……thank you True North for reporting this

I'll tell you the Indian's secret to how they mass migrated so easy. ( I don't mean this in any sort of negative way. ) This was told to me by a friend I work with who's entire family came to Canada from India. So what his family did and many, many others did was... In India they all pool all there $ to 1 family member, that family member gets his full citizenship to Canada then moves here. Soon as possible he will buy a business, then they start brining family members over 1 by 1 through work visas and they all work on getting there citizenships, they all work together and purchase a house. Once they get that house, one family member stays there and the rest buy another and they all work to pay it off, then just keep repeating until all the family members have there own house. meanwhile they are all still working together at there business and start bringing close friends from India via work visas then it all just repeats over and over.

Not only is it it impossible to live here, there are no resources unless the government gets something from it. As an indigenous child who grew up in foster care my whole life, there was no indigenous foster care homes for me to go to and therefore my culture has become traumatic for me. My OWN culture has major trauma related to it and my foster care agency would NOT help me unless I moved to the reservation after I aged out the THEIR system, which was not applicable because they were the ones who traumatized me. When I turned 19, I was expected to have it all figured out, I was not allowed to remain in my foster home afterwards without massive paper work and thank god my foster mom cared about me because without her, I would be on the streets with nothing but a garbage full of clothes. I moved out on my own with the help of that family and my agency said they would help with things if I asked. As of the economy now, I did ask them. I asked them for any help at all and my social worker LITERALLY ghosted me and stood me up, even at my plea for help. You would think this is just my case but there are hundreds of cases like mine with even worse endings and what Canada has done with this information is nothing. Foster Care in Canada for indigenous youth is the 2000’s way of Residential Schools and I am EXTREMELY lucky to NOT be homeless and dead. Many of my friends in similar situations are dead or homeless and I have no hope for Canada, it’s an extremely depressing reality.

i am from hamilton and we are still very diverse here. yes brampton is quiet loaded with indians. i think what has failed is the requirements for immigration has dropped. i mean we use to have highly educated people come in but now the standards have dropped. so anyone with low standards can come walk in. pubjabi votes for jagmeet or trudeau and they are the group with highest crimes in india the state of punjab and there is a big drug and drinking culture that comes here. the minute our standards grow up with immigration requirements then we will get more educated bunch coming in. when we have greedy power hungry people run the country this is what happens. now people are fed up. the other day i was at freshco and some white guys started to lecture me and he openly admitted he is a racist. i pulled out my camera and started to record. he backed off but he could have done anything. he rude and stupid. i was also quiet upset. people were not like this and were more accepting. i can understand his frustration but he said openly he was racist and called me Fxxxxxxx indian etc... this is out of line. i also gave him a mouth full. i told him i have been here 35 years and his mood changed but its quiet disappointing how people react. its not safe or respectful. not sure where we are headed in canada.

Born and raised in Canada. The rising cost of living is just depressing and I’ve basically given up on starting a family because of it here in Vancouver. I know that in order to move out of my parents house, I’d have to get a full time job, eat instant noodles only, and have at least five roommates in order to continue living here. Minimum wage in BC is $16/hr changing to $17/hr but living wage is at least $26/hr last I checked. It’s so sad because I love it here but it seems just seems impossible to be hopeful .

I am not a Canadian. I came to Canada in 2015. It is a good place to live with lots of opportunities if you are ready to work hard. If they can why others cant. No need to blame others. spend your time in education. You will be able to get good jobs. work hard and Full fill your dreams. good food, nice car, home ,vacation etc.

All state driven economies with large state workers employment that keeps growing year by year that go to vote 100% for their paycheck as others do not go to vote because everyone is corrupt etc look exactly like this. At first everything booms and shines, money are flowing for everyone as the governement starts bribing the citizens, but after a while everything goes down and the only ones that keep the wealth is the state sector which, in turns, starts to act like full time lobbyists for the corporations although paid with the general public taxes! Competitivity starts to shrink, everyone dreams at working for the state, public deficit grows year by year, the country borrows more and more money from the markets and submits to lenders and their economic views...you get to work in the private sector more for less, you are told to retire later, public services like school, medicine etc decline the better the paid state workers that do the jobs are...and add to that a general policy toward mass immigration of all nations with no checks regarding abilities or skills that gets citizenship pretty fast to add votes for the same elite that captured the state and everything becomes unbearable!
