Im Canadian and while the tariffs are gonna suck, I completely understand why Trump is doing it. Our government is an absolute clown show and what's worse is now the politicians and corporate media here have spun this whole thing as Trumps fault and alot of Canadians are falling for it buying into this whole US vs Canada BS. Like this all coulda been avoided if our politicians would've actually fixed the border YEARS ago, instead of legalizing heroin, making a gender neutral national anthem and making it illegal to misgender someone. \n \nHonestly I'm so embarrassed to be Canadian these days that being the 51st state is pretty appealing. I support gun rights, low taxes, deporting illegals, love proper BBQ and work for a paycheck. So if anyone in a red state is hiring, I'm happy to relocate..

If not doing so already why doesn't ICE have checkpoints where ALL buses and taxis are stopped and their passengers check for their immigrant status. It all boils down to Trudeau and Canada's lax tourist laws. The core problem is not migrants crossing the Canadian border into the US illegally... It's the number of migrants being imported into Canada by its pink-socked tyrant and his Progressive cohorts.\n\nThe simple fact is that Canada is in desperate need of a mass deportation process that would make anything President Trump is planning pale in comparison. This was always going to occur. Shut down the southern border and people will try to get in through the north. As I understand it, we don't have the same deportation laws with Canada as we do with Mexico. This needs to be dealt with and Canada needs to step up. I live in a norther border state and my younger brother died of fentanyl. I am fed up with it. I love Canada and remembering crossing the border without even a passport as a kid, but this is no longer acceptable.

Sounds strange. Why would they cross border to go to NY? Canada's more liberal than the US, I'd guess they'd not deport anyone.

Complete BS, these people flew into NYC from Nigeria and other parts of Africa. Mayor Bill de Blasio would then put them in a Taxi or Bus and send them to Roxem Rd. an illegal border where they walk into Quebec. Then when Canada is about to deport them they run back to Roxem Rd. where they walk back into NYC. where they are protected by the City.

To be fair, most of those migrants went into Canada through the US border in the first place. I do find it odd that they'd be now flooding into the US. What a stupid time for them to do it. I hope Trump truly deports them so they don't go into either country and only back to their homeland.

I like Firstpost because she usually says it like it is. But this time she’s way too biased and went straight to play victim. Doesn’t she know how in places like Australia and Canada thousands of Indian people on temporary visas have taken to the streets to protest that these countries want to “deport” them when their visas are expired and they decided to overstay their welcome? Also, Indians used to be pretty quiet and kept to themselves… At least where I live! But lately they’re more and more unruly, and act like they own the place. We just can't build a wall for the whole huge Canadian border. Also, they are still crossing over the Mexican border state of the art wall/fence with ladders. The ONLY solution is to have a huge border patrol force that will be guaranteed to catch and arrest all illegal aliens. Then, the illegal aliens will be either instantly deported after paying a significantly large fine to the US Treasury OR if they cannot or won't pay the fine, sentenced to a dentention camp for a set length of time as a punishment, maybe one year of hard labor and minimalistic amenities-that is, NO MORE EBT cards, no more lux hotels. Once their detention sentence is completed, they will be quickly and efficiently deported to either their own country of origin or Canada or Mexico. IF it's done right, I don't think there will be many repeat offenders.
