Today they can no longer scam as many international students to come in, tomorrow they won't be able to scam as many immigrants to choose Canada. Canada is on a path to decline with or without immigration. Most people are unaware of the problems that would show up if they suddenly stop immigration and international students, colleges and universities would go bankrupt and poverty will only get exacerbated.

Yes I would blame Indian government and immigration Agents in India and Indian immigration agents in Canada. Canada have their rules and standard which are clearly stipulated. First of all if Indian students get student visa it is supposed to be supported by a college or university where they're going to spend number of years in the college, during the period they are supposed to have declared their day to day needs Canadian Government are not responsible for students health or their food. It it is their own responsibility student can not come to Canada on visa and start working I would suggest that before they start this process from India they would be able to evaluate the honesty of immigration agents in India I do feel pity for all these illegal students who came to Canada by getting conned by Agents both in India and in Canada.

get your fact straight, its not the government. It's the fake colleges that promised them and they did not follow proper steps. It's the student fault for not following proper guidelines

No, recruiters dont deceive! Students and the agencies are fully aware of what is their ultimate goal. Enter through some unrecognized colleges and gain PR. Recrutiers have contacts with small colleges and give them business by sending students to Canada. Students are well informed in this day and age what channels to use. There are recruiting agencies in every nook and corner of India sending students for decades.

Indian students going to private colleges owned by Indians that have no merit as far as there degree are concerned. It's a scam for them to reside here. It's a scam from day 1. Go check if private college is the same as a real Canadian college. The audacity to protest in a country that allowed you to join shitty colleges skip college and work full time is some other level of non sense ….I went to US for my masters worked hard unfortunately did not get h1b picked returned back and got a high paying job that valued my US degree….these students are delusional…their degrees are crap and will not be able to find jobs in India as well.

Some of them use fake school certificates to enter the country. Others use illegal methods to obtain business loans and then shut down their businesses after receiving government funds. They have connections within the system. There are fake Indian colleges that process illegal students. My ex husband told me about one school. They get away with too many things, and sadly, those with legitimate certifications who are studying at authorized colleges and paying tuition are unfortunately affected. I'm sure there’s a process in place to ensure that not all will be deported.

Studying in Canada has always been a scam that benefitted the colleges and the students who pay great sums to avoid legal immigration lines. This has been an open secret. Besides this, how does India benefit from losing its educated people? Time for a re-think.

We are hurting for doctors, health professionals, skilled educated workers who can help with huge systemic failures since the pandemic but we can’t get them to come here ?those are the intl workers/students Canada needs to attract and can’t ???? luring low skilled intl students to scam colleges as temp fixes to our labour problems - a lot of corruption and mismanagement went into creating this mess with Indian intl students. I taught at a puppy mill college in Vancouver in 2023. I had two classes of 70 students, 67 of whom were Indians, and the only student who was actually studying was a Japanese woman, one of the three non-Indians, lol.

I hate that the provincial governments have underfunded our colleges to such a degree that those colleges depend on international students for funding ( because they charge them more). I hate that there are unscrupulous people lying to students in India to get a cut. I hate that they ended up in this position. But the international student program should not be a backdoor to citizenship. They're more than welcome to apply but they shouldn't get special treatment. I think this was brought to the forefront because of corporations abusing the TFW program.

I am Canadian. My problem is not with the Indians, it the rate of immigration is far out pacing our infrastructures to support all of them. There's a lot of greed fueling issues. Foreigners are being exploited for cheap labor and wage suppression, indian students are being pumped into colleges at inflated rates. There was a lobby group called the century initiative that really pushed for 100mil Canadians by year 2100 that seems to have been a big part of why there was such an aggressive push. It's members were affiliated with companies that stood to profit greatly from the housing crisis.\n\nIndians are not the problem. It's a fucked up system and a lag in infrastructure. I want all that come here to thrive, and it's possible. We need to come together in order to problem solve this. \nWe can lead with empathy, and revolt with innovation. Look for opportunities to begin positive feedback loops with locals. I've noticed the accent can really make or break an interaction between Indians and locals. Really focus on perfecting the language and the local manners is my first suggestion for newcomers. \nSecondly is just to get involved. When locals see foreigners joining them in efforts to improve the community we warm up to them. When prejudice divides us, we are enabling the exploitation by the ruling classes that are disconnected from our hardship.\n\nGood luck

Why is it anti India . Check the facts . Before 2018 students were genuine and if they stayed long enough they got permanent residency. Now every one who is coming here is a fraud faking documents and going to crappy colleges that have no real education and these so called students are working. Indian students never go to college in Canada and they go to work only

Universities and Colleges should be mandated to pay the local City a surcharge of $1500-$2500/yr per Foreign student to local City to pay fair share of costs of public infrastructure. Local citizens pay property tax to fund infrastructure, Universities and Colleges (Conestoga the worst offender) need to pay up.

It also takes away from from Canadians getting into Canadian colleges and universities as the international students get charged higher tuition fees. More money for the universities. Canadian students end up going over seas. I have a few friends whose kids tried getting into medical school here but were refused. They ended up in Australia, in medical school and are living there now as doctors. We could have used them here.

Immigration must differentiate between true university foreign students and the private so-called “colleges” being used for residency purposes.

All those B grade and C grade universities and colleges in Ontario offered useless diplomas to foreign student while taking billions from them. Canadians didn't benefit from it but their living standards tanked as a result.

In the last 4 years I have been nearly hit by Indian immigrant drivers who do not obey traffic laws in Ontario. I have met drivers driving the wrong way on way streets Indian, Drivers making illegal U turns and nearly hitting me Indian, drivers who change lanes in the middle of intersection Indian, every time my phone rings there is an Indian pretending to be CRA, or Amazon trying to scam money. Every fast food place is staffed by Indians who barely speak English can't be understood and fuck up the order. I have Indian customer ask me to break the law and carry more passengers than there are seat belts in my van I am tired of it I am tired having to compete against international students who come here on student visa's to study at some scam diploma mill college but not go to any classes and drive Uber. I am tired of having to play by the rules and compete with people who say fuck the rules. So don't let the door hit you fuckers on the way out.

To all the Canadian people criticizing International Students, why do your Universities push their agents in India to send pamphlets, posters, brochure and advertisement almost every day back home in India. You guys in your heart know that your universities are run by the money accumulated from the hiked fees of the international students and if they stop coming, all these so called universities and colleges will be shut down.

The only reason why foreign ‘students’ from India come to Canada is to stay in Canada. \nThey ‘study’ useless cheep colleges and most of them work ‘delivery’ jobs but, some of them also get involved in a drug trafficking and crime activities.

I did notice the quality of education was much lower in 2024 than in 2018 and 2020 in College. The teachers don't even car. All these students are very nice people, some spent a fortune coming here. There should have been limits decades ago becuase people want go back but they spent so much money that they feel stuck. $10k cad is like 3-5 years worth of income in some of these places.

70 000? The number is too low. I know a college in Ontario that imported more than 30 000 Indian students last year. We are talking about one college in one year.

the student visa was always a backdoor to permanent resident status, when the numbers were small and the students went to legitimate colleges, and then got jobs in order to apply for their PR card via employer sponsorship, nobody cared whether they stayed or not, but when the Immigration Consultants got involved, the scam was exposed when 70,000 Indian students did it all at once which has created racial resentment from Native born Canadians and those who immigrated legally which took years

No, they don’t have a right to stay in Canada. Once the Visa expires they go back to their country. So please do not portray a rosy picture of higher education as these students can not even speak English properly. Canadian government went to such a extent that they divided Indians based on religion and ethnicity in Canada, so they had Indian, Punjabi, Sikh and Hindu 4 categories for Indian people. First they have to check the courses done and certificates obtained. Most of the so called students don't attend any class. They work during daytime and listen to recorded lessons in the evening. Chatgpt is used to write answers. Most of them are 1 year course. Universities and colleges offering such courses have to be blacklisted.And the tuition fees have to be reimbursed. Students are not the ones to be blamed and punished. Those who provided such avenues are the culprits.

Yes we have our own culture and own language but we also like Canadian people and their culture. Most of Chinese students would apply to top tier university and majors only, if they didn't got in they switch to other countries like AU or UK, US or just go back to china. However a lot of indians doesn't care about the college rating or even major, they just came here to work anyway.
