I am a UK citizen. I find it strange that Indian nationals claim to be 'proud' of their country, yet they all want to move elsewhere (UK, US, Canada, Australia etc). If their country is so great, then why do they want to keep going to other countries? And then there's the bureaucracy for those who want to visit destinations such as India. If India wants to impose endless paperwork and procedures to other countries, then it should expect the same. India was the one that started the childish tit-for-tat behaviour when the UK and Canada were restricting visa applications during the pandemic, so therefore India banned e-visa applications from Canadians and UK citizens. If India wants to behave like this, then why can't other nations? The UK is full of Indians who come here and don't want to integrate to our way of life etc, hence it's better for everyone if they just stayed in India.

It is already the case when its difficult to get a visa, imagine the situation if its made easier.\n4) Most of the Indian tourists fall under the mass category, they are not like the heavy spending Chinese tourists. We are not the most well behaved, so till we start getting more affluent, we wont be in as much demand.

The only economic parameter that matters is per capita. India currently ranks 122nd in the world based in per capita (that too purchasing power included). India can be the largest economy in the world with a hopeless per capita. One day The Adanis, Ambanis and a few others will be worth 25 trillion USD themselves and India could be the largest economy in the world; yet 95% of its population will rank lower than 120th in the world. Nationalistic emotion can cloud one's judgement.
