This is nothing but a song and dance. Trudeau is a liar, plain and simple.

As a US citizen, who voted for Trump three times, i never thought id agree with Trudeau. \nThe US cannot win a trade war, the US versus the world. It's simple mathematics, and in the geopolitical realm, What Trump is doing is going to push countries away from US influence. \nI'm all for putting the US first, I'm all for cutting the federal government fat, and I'm all for making sure we the people come first, but I'm also smart enough to know that anytime the US has gone into isolationism, it's led to global conflict.

Trump WANTS TO WEAKEN both of our countries. He does not care if people in the US, or the world suffer. \nHe is aligned with PUTON. Pure and simple.

You need to realize what Trump's real agenda is. All he really wants is money. He wants to make himself and his rich buddies richer. His plan to do that is to cut government spending radically, and impose a sales tax to fleece American consumers. Once he's got the cash flow the way he wants, he will cut corporate tax and capital gains tax so that his companies and his investments can make a lot more money and so can his rich buddies, while still being able to pay off his lackeys in the senate and congress. That's it. It is that simple. Everything else is a distraction to make the media forget his real plan.

Hopefully, Trump gives Canada an offramp... Make it simple, Canada drops ALL tariffs on US goods, and we do the same. Canada has had significant tariffs on some US goods that go back many years. This is unacceptable.

True Americans stand with all people who are fair, honest and DEMOCRATIC in their thinking...that includes the people of Canada and Mexico. I'm not altogether certain about the Chinese but we'll see if or how this impacts them and the reaction from there. That BUM knows precisely who those tariffs will benefit and it's not the people who work so hard in order to live their lives. I'm not crazy about Free Trade either but it is what it is.... Canadian here- I hate Trudeau just as much as most Canadians, and as it seems most Republican Americans do as well. But I fully stand behind him at this hour. He might have shit the bed for most Canadians during his time as PM, but when it mattered he has stood up for Canada. Review the facts and educate yourself on the current situation between CAN and the US. I will be the first to admit, Canada has not done enough in terms of its own security and military, but these failures should not be the decay in our friendship as nations. The US DOES NOT subsidize Canada, it DOES NOT give money to Canada. In simple terms- the larger country, with the largest economy in the world (USA) buys more from its Northern brother, which produces vast amounts of natural resources which the larger southern country requires. As for the booing seen at most recent sports events in Canada, that is directed at the President, not the average American. I myself would never boo a national anthem, an anthem that millions have sacrificed to protect and defend. But I understand the pain and anger that is coming from my country. We have always been allies, friends, and to most even family. I do hope that in the future our relationship can heal and move forward but the current actions being taken by the American admistration are horrendus and upsetting to most of the world outside of the US. I wish us all the best in the future, be nice to one another, and always remember that the US and Canada have fought, spilled blood, and died alongside one another in the fight for democracy and freedom around the world.

Oh, the solution is pretty simple, as is the reverse of tariffs. Most of Canadians savings are poured directly or through investment funds into Wall Street to increase US investment. The main export of US is bonds and stocks. Let the Canadian government introduce a tax on any investment on its residents on any asset in US currency or us denominated. Immediately billions and billions of dollars ( CAD ) would return into the country. Too bad for US treasury bonds and stocks.

Canada wont go to sell in EU or China it's over seas way to long and most of the times still has to go thru the US lol it's to costly for one, and EU just wont cover all the cost, forget the logistic nightmare.
