If your not an immigrant it maybe difficult for you to understand this but the immigrants who did it correctly and spent 10-15 years in line believe in fairness and opportunity the RIGHT way! Our current system is broken and it needs to be fixed, that's a bipartisan issue. Educate yourselves about what's actually happening with asylum seekers before making uninformed comments about topics you don't fully understand.

Ask your ancestors ...old and new is the same, all came illegally. The answer is simple, fix the broken immigration system. But do not take it against those immigrants who same with your ancestors, came to America in the quest for a better life!

The thing is his maga people think that they are free of his deporting orders and like all Americans will be the ones paying the millions of dollars it will take to do that. What they apparently don't know is that time and again historically Republicans have blocked any legislation to fix our broken immigration system. They don't want to fix it because employers like having cheap labor & that they can threaten to call ICE when undomented workers complain of unsafe working conditions or low wages or no benefits.

It’s not only the illegals . We need to stop importing doctors and IT workers from India and giving them the best jobs and pay, while our kids have to pay a fortune and get in debt for life for going to colleges for the same jobs and then having to lose their jobs to these ppl, most of which speak a broken English . My very nice neighborhood is flooded with them it’s so bad I can’t walk to 7/11 to buy milk after dark, my cars been broken into my bicycles stolen, my barbecue stolen etc. All on camera over the past 2 years and police just said it could be anyone on the camera… this is in Del Mar California.

Every time someone breaks the law it costs money for the government to investigate, prosecute and punish. When millions have broken the law it is not going to be free of cost. Prevention is better than cure. Let us cure this one and prevent it from happening again by protecting the border.

The only people in the United States who are not immigrants or descendants of immigrants are Native American Indians. So it's the height of hypocrisy and arrogance for these people to whine against immigrants. We also have a law that justly provides safe harbor for immigrants seeking refugee protection because they are fleeing their country of origin due to persecution, violence, victimization, etc. It is morally correct to receive them here without any mistreatment or demonization. It is prejudicial, inhumane, and unlawful to turn them away or deport them. Is the administrative system and process inefficient or faulty? YES, obviously. That's not an excuse to be derelict in our duty. Our obligation is to fix whatever is lacking or broken in our system, so that it functions properly, fairly, and rapidly, for anyone seeking either asylum, or ordinary immigration processing and approval.

Quit using the term Undocumented Immigrants. The correct Term is Illegal Aliens who have broken Immigration Laws by entering the Country illegally which is a is Criminal Act. I blame Both sides for using that Term and not Revising the Laws to Deal with the Problems. Immigration Laws need to be Revised and Enforced Period. Quit kicking the Can down the Road. None of these nice people know how fucked the immigration system has become since 9/11… they all enjoyed a normal and sane process before then. The system is now totally and utterly broken.

This isn't just a white or black thing it's an out of control immigration system where people use loopholes in the system to gain residency. This anti-immigration isn't isolated in fact most immigrants who's lived in Canada all their lives have expressed deep concern that the government is letting in too many from one nation and the lopsided admittance is part of the concern. The metrics of the majority of new immigrants come from the Middle East and India how can anyone not notice the concern that many have been expressing for a decade. Canadians aren't against immigrants it's that we didn't expect to just let anyone in without actually knowing how to speak English or have etiquette and follow laws. Many have concerns that many of the new comers can't even speak English yet they have license to drive and how do we get around most bend the rules or the law. Myself I've notice a skyrocketing scam scheme and how can you not equate that to the rise in our broken immigration policy. The last time I heard you had to have certain criteria to be considered to immigrate and why is that some countries like from the South Pacific you need to know English have money in the bank and a skill or degree on a list of acceptable qualifications. So many who can't even read or write English have jobs, drive a car, then to make matters worse have housing yet we have a crisis? Most Canadians see the pattern and most are educated enough to know there is something to be said, loopholes and when they find it they abuse the system.

Didn't anybody see the commercial on T.V. that the Government of Ontario has put out ? When your're leading everything looks fine , when you're the opposition everything is broken . Which is it ?

This is disheartening... this means that my husband will never be able to live with us. My children will grow up without their father, and for some reason, Canadians are OK with Canadian children growing up in a broken home. It's going to take 35 months, for my husband to be able to immigrate to this country. That's 2 1/2 year that my kids won't have a dad, our son especially is suffering. He has a serious disease, is often hospitalized, and I'm a married woman living as a single mother. Now I'll need to rely on the government for more financial support, and my 6 year old is actually depressed because his dad is years away from being with him. I work full time, have a great home, and a side business. But now I'll need to depend on meds and disability support to take care of my child, when he has an ablebodied father that can support us, especially when our child is in one of his regular hospitalization. You all are cruel.

As a 52 year old born and raised in Canada, I absolutely despise this country and can't wait to move back to USA once and for all! This is no longer Canada and by 2300 China and India will have carved out a 'New' Canada. It all started after Expo 86....the flood gates of immigration were broken wide open and now the country is on the verge of social and economic collapse. Hard to believe this is the highest-paid Government in the world as it is by far the worst run country in the G20

I once came across colleague who arrived on study permit, went to construction jobs while on the permit, took advantage of favouring exchange rate in his home country, send all his savings there, bought a 4 acre land and gets healthy crops there enough for his family to live a lavish life making enough to retire at 30. When his study permit and associated work permit expired and he didn't qualify for PR in Canada as per point system, applied for asylum stating political unrest back home. His asylum was accepted. We who think they are poor are fools. He was only 27 and said he will retire at 30. But I doubt he will ever go back to his home country.? Canada is his gold mine. He was from Bangladesh. Trust me Indians dont go that far. There is no political instability in India and if to the contrary Indians are claiming asylum the system is truly broken.

Former Liberals Immigration minister Sean Fraser broke our immigration. Now 13k international students , ( probably 95 percent from India ) applied asylum status. Charity starts at home before you start bringing in all these foreign workers why don't you fix what's broken in your backyard like the homelessness here ,it's not the poor people here that are starting the problems it's the foreigners I've experienced it as an elderly person I can't even get a crappy job at Tim Hortons because those are all outsourced to foreign workers. Because they don't have to pay them benefits the government is completely screwed and doesn't care about its own people. In India if your kid finish grade 12 and got Ilets score 4 to all way 7 then they talk to the agent who talked to the Canadian colleges ! If u can’t pay for your kids study , then you find them spouse who has money and pay for everything only on one condition, he or she can get them to Canada on open work permit ! There was lots of broken relationships because of disputes over money and getting immigration in Canada ! This going on for long time , I guess government didn’t realize that !

Don't blame the people... and blame your government policy. Government should brings those people who can help shape a better country instead of those refugees. The problem that I have seen is that - We accepted far more refugees than the genuine individuals. We chased investors/skills people away and we pay for those refugees with no background check and they lived on our finance system. Canada should look after their citizen first before dumping money into warfare(F35), Ukraine (a war can't never be won)...more dialogue instead of sanctions, lower the taxes so we all can live and pay affordable taxes. Better health care system where one don't have to put on a waiting list for a family doctor, waiting 8 mos or 3 years for a specialist. The system now is broken and will take years to be fixed.
