I think most of this must apply in other parts of Canada, Ive lived in Ottawa for 10 yrs now and never met more rude people. They dont want to get to know you, they dont want you talking to them, they dont want to follow up on anything they say, over and over ive been told people would come over and they never do. even after making plans, they still no show you. frankly it's totally shame I will never understand in my lifetime how there have never been rent caps or some kind of rules where it would be forbidden to rent an apartment for more than $1,000. Landlords are jerks too; they play the 'yes, we’re forced to raise the rent' card, but in reality, they don’t necessarily have to. They’re not always obligated to raise rent from $1,000 to $2,500. Honestly, do our leaders not think that one day people are going to come after them out of anger because their lives are ruined because of them? Do they not think about that?

My daughter is nearing the end of 2 great years in Canada on an IEC (backpacker) visa from Australia. She’s loved the people, the landscape (mostly lived in BC and Alberta) , and working there…. She picked up interesting jobs, worked very hard, just about made ends meet, has been great. \n\nShe was even offered a permanent job by a major Canadian co last year (she was working for them on a one year role at the time) that would’ve paved the way for her to apply for PR…but she turned it down without a second thought….. for all the reasons you would know about \n\n- Wages aren’t great (maybe 20% less than australia), \n\n- taxes are high (incl having to pay CPP…in australia the employer pays all pension contributions, on top of wages), \n\n- groceries prices out of kilter, \n\n- rents consume most of what’s left…. \n\n- AND, even if you could save a deposit for a house, or shoebox apartment….what’s the point, could never afford it. \n\nShe’s seen nearly all her Canadian friends resigned to their fate of being perennial renters, of being perpetually skint. It’s no life. She’s sad to see it - coming from a country of perpetual optimism and opportunity, to learn over time how such a (on many levels) similar country isn’t like that, that has somehow got it all so wrong. \n\nIf you are thinking of “australia” as your answer, it’d be a fair call\n\n- Avoid Sydney if you can (a less expensive Vancouver) but rest of the place is “workable”. \n\n- Average wage in Perth is $100k (C$90k) and average house (full size…not an apt or townhouse) price is about $700k (C$630k) …so do-able, if tight to start with, for youngsters (like you..!) \n\n- I’ve been to Vancouver’s East Hastings St, and so can confirm is nowhere close to that in Oz. Are sketchy parts of all cities, but it’s definitely not community wide\n\n- are small pockets of homelessness (esp but not only indigenous community) but the governments are mostly (sort of…) “on it” \n\n- sun, sea, sand… and the sharks rarely come close to shore!

This is me a decade ago moving from Phils to Canada. I never felt at home in the country of my birth — I hated the traffic and the monsoon rains (it can rain for months). I know a lot of nationalities rave about our tropical country & beautiful beaches but it also has become unaffordable for us the citizens. We became Canadians 5 yrs ago & have grown from 4 to 6 (2 Canada born kids) & now have 2 properties. It has worked for us but it was also not easy uprooting our lives & starting over. I don’t think we will ever find our home anywhere. Previously my husband and I also lived in the US (before kids). It is truly a privilege to be here but I always feel I am sojourner, always traveling & always searching. I hope you find your peace wherever life takes you. They don't need to have results on their decision. They know tomorrow, they will do a second chance and spend time make money.

I was born here 55 years ago, I am mixed race and have been asked if I was Indian. I think that my time growing up in Canada is that Indians have had the most racism towards them. However, There are too many coming here right now. 99% of the Indians I have met with are nice and great people. With that , the shear amount of Indians that are not desirable are here. Cannot drive, rude, no understanding of customer service and take over public spaces and are litter bugs. You guys have to help transition into the western american canadian tradition. I have seen influxes of other countries come over here in my 55 years but I have never seen one group come over with these huge numbers. It is a massive displacement

The quality of medical care is comparable between the 2 countries, however Americans still have a shorter life expectancy (compared to all other developed nations, not just Canada) because co-pays, deductibles, and insurance premiums keep people from getting earlier diagnosis’ that would save their lives. \n\nI find that Americans see Canadian healthcare through an American lens, thinking that we can only go to certain doctors, cannot get second opinions, or that the medical industry isn’t competitive but none of that is true. Our healthcare allows us to go to go anywhere and to get second opinions if needed. We pay zero out of pocket and never see a bill.

I can tell you one of the major reasons. It is the fact that these immigrants from India do not want to assimilate into Canada. Instead they bring their ways with them into Canada and some of those “ways”, are not acceptable in Canada. One example of that is the whole using the bathroom on the beach. But one that hits hard for me is the insane amount of immigrants that are harvesting spawning salmon with nets, without any of the properly paperwork that is needed to fish salmon with a rod. Using a net is illegal, I know they know it because when I catch them doing this. They become quiet and all of a sudden, after hearing them just speaking English, they pretend they do not know English… I can tell you this is all true. The other thing I have seen with my eyes is shop lifting from the local grocery store. I have never seen that before, not ever in all my years living here. It would be somewhat different if they were stealing essential items and essential foods. But they are not doing that, they are stealing all the luxury items. I am a white Canadian and I am proud of it, but guess what. I am also proud of the fact that I have a doctor that came from India and his family is thriving here. It makes me proud that he chose our country try to come to, with his educational background, it also makes me proud that he and his family have taken the time to try and assimilate into our culture. When I say assimilate by the way, I do not want them or and immigrant to completely abandon their cultures, I just would prefer it if they assimilate to the point where we can have a healthy community instead of all these separate cultural areas in our towns and cities. The other thing I have to add is that the word racism is thrown around too much and too easily in our current woke cultural climate here in Canada and this is just making the immigration issues worse because it produces a culture of fear for those Canadians that would like to help educate those immigrants that need help. But they do not do so because they are afraid of being labeled a racist or some other word and having their livelihoods and overall lives ruined. I am in a position in life where I do not care if people want to say such things about me. I am also well educated and in the position to come up with well articulated arguments in my defence. My main issue with immigration that bothers me more than the rest not only affects us Canadians but also affects the immigrants as well. Ok so before mass immigration was a thing here in Canada our healthcare system that we all used to be extremely proud of the as showing too many cracks and we knew it was falling apart. You think the government would place more funding into the healthcare system. Well that has not happened and if anything they have taken more funds away from our healthcare system than any other time in our country’s history. So before the mass immigration begun we had a major issue with having way too many patients and not enough medical staff to adequately treat everyone in a timely and healthy manner. So now think about that, the healthcare system was already stressed with the current population before mass immigration. How do you think adding waves and waves of more people every year via mass immigration is affecting that system? The answer is this… if the system was stressed beforehand, it is collapsing now. I am one of the lucky few that has a family doctor right now. It takes three months the just for me to see her… If I have an emergency and have to call 911, the ambulance will take me up to the local ER and then I will be wheeled out to the waiting room, which defeats the purpose of me calling 911 for a ambulance. I have waited two days at the local ER just to see a doctor. So here is where it affects the immigrants coming in. If a Canadian that was here before you is already having major issues with the healthcare, then I can only imagine how hard it will be for a new citizen to our country, nuff said really… the local er near me had a person die in the waiting room this past January. Add to this fact that I am actually pretty sick at the moment and so are my parents and you can understand why I am upset about our failing healthcare system. The politicians do not have to worry about our such issues though because they can afford to pay to go outside of Canada and pay cold hard cash for medical treatment. That is why they do not mind removing funds from our healthcare system, it will not affect them and they get to line their pockets with more of our tax money… I honestly place most of the blame for what is going on right now on Trudeau’s government and not the immigrants. The immigrants could help make this crappy situation a lot better for both of our parties though if they tried a little harder to adapt to our ways of life here. When in Canada try to live like a Canadian, I do not think that is asking much. Again, as for racism, I believe in judging a person by their actions and not by the colour of their skin. Racism is such an antiquated way of thinking… Our skin colours maybe different, just like our cultural backgrounds, but after all is said and done we are all members of the human race. There are 2 sets of protestors: canadians who are supporting the cause of Palestine’s which is not affecting them but rather having a concern of their lives more to matter and another set of immigrants who wants to get their own work permit extended which affects them personally. Immigrants never defaced a university ground called up the police force to get detained nor did they make a widespread havoc. They wanted to get their own personal wants. While few others for the cause of public outrages destroy university and public area causing nuisance for others. Think about it, compare the difference in protests happening now and few months back.

Hi… I totally agree with just about everything you stated in all aspects of the Indian community. I’m a Canadian who happens to be living in Brampton for the past 12 years. I’ve watched Brampton go from a beautiful community to a dark dreaded place to live , and this is truly because of Indian behaviours. Mind you I have many genuinely good intelligent respectful Indian friends, but there’s the others that thinks they owe the city, province, and country. They don’t respect no one, and I mean no one. NOT EVEN THEIR OWN KIND (Indians/ Punjab). And yes as a Canadian citizen whenever I see something I do call them out on it. However; the moment you say something to them they assume that you’re cursing at them and what was ment to be a respectful comment becomes a situation where they want to argue and even get into a physical fight. Then there’s the bad, careless driving on the streets with no regards to the next person’s life. They drive like their car is the only one on the street yet always looking for someone to race with not to mention the illegal U-TURN creating major accidents. I personally experienced this when a Tractor Trailer Driver tried making a U-TURN on the city street with only 4 lanes for both direction at 4AM in the morning. This caused me to almost ran under the trailer body which would have been the end of my life. They butt into lines and interrupts as much as business conversations thinking their concerns are way more important than anyone else’s and That’s just to name a few things.\nNow on the other hand I do have VERY GOOD RESPECTFUL INDIAN FRIENDS who I will never let go of our friendship because of their genuine respectful relationship although even those close friends are now pulling themselves away from their own country people and all because of the others behaviour.\nThirdly; YES, the Canadian government invites foreign students into the country with improper sources to monitor and direct a governing body to monitor and process the activities of foreign students .\n\nI love your honesty in your stories back your video clips as proof of your country men behaviour. India is one of the fastest economy in the world they will need to be representing as in many countries in the world . I personally think Canadians gets confused thinking they are muslims and they are not. If i have to choose i would certainly prefer them instead of bringin so many muslims from muslims countries around the world because they will never adapt to other cultures. Indian people are so adaptable to other countries more that any country in the world. I don't live in Canadá or any other country. By the way is so sad that Indian people with turbans g confused with muslims and people get worry about them not knowing they following the Sikh religious wich is one of the most adaptable religions in the world similar to cristian religious. Canada's population of 40 million is not enough to drive the economy big. An MPP long time ago wanted Canada's population to be around 100 million to drive the economy. I’m sorry, but never would I move to the US for all of the reasons already given in the video. I have a good friend in Massachusetts and I keep asking him when he’s going to come home to Canada. I really think Trump is going to be President again and I think it is time for my friend and his son to come on home. I don’t even feel very comfy visiting in the US anymore…And if (when) Trump wins, and Project 2025 goes through, I don’t think it will be particularly safe for most people to be there. I am a skilled professional and I arrived in Germany a few months ago. Although I managed to find a job in my profession, the government's narrative that they want skilled workers is completely inconsistent. There is no real support for job searching, companies have no real incentives to hire foreigners, and the political parties that dominate public discourse never miss an opportunity to make you feel unwelcome, as if you were stealing something from them. If you're thinking of coming to Germany for high salaries, it's not the place. If you're thinking of coming for a career change or to advance in your career, it's not the place. If you're thinking of coming for the opportunities that the government claims to have for skilled immigrant workers, it's not the place. Honestly, I'm very disappointed with my experience, and I would wholeheartedly suggest not coming here if that's your expectation.

The Fifth Estate had a great piece on what is actually going on in India and how this people are being scammed. They think that they're talking to a recruiter for a college, when in reality, it's a travel agency. It's sick how Canadian colleges have exploited the weaknesses in the system, and the government has allowed this to happen for so long. And now, after 9 years of Trudeau, the Liberals and the NDPs are back peddling trying to repair the bridges that the helped build and break. They gave the impression that I or any other who had a concern with immigration might be possibly racist or xenophobic. Our government weaponized words to shut our voices down. No immigrant, especially those in India, should be scammed to such an extent that they are living in a country they've never been to before that is bleeding them dry. Our government wants to conceal the reality of what's going on in Canada from the rest of the world, because they want this to keep happening. High cost of living. High cost of food. No incentive to start a family. This policy making is destroying so much Canada to offer to so many.

My story is similar to yours Alina, moved to Canada at 15 y.o., lived there for 20 yrs and now moved away. It's been hard, Canada has been the place I'd call home and thinking that I may never come back to live there is a little heart wrenching. Looking forward to learning what place you picked for yourself. From my experience, it will not be easy whatever place you pick. The social connections, daily life, it will all take a long time to set up. One thing that helps is keeping in touch with the most important people in your life - whereever they may be.

Do you have any idea how expensive rent is in GTA? Are you telling me that those temporary workers took all those 50K jobs? LOL. Dont cut immigration down.....tell me how did Indian intl student makes up about more than 80% out of all international students. Why didnt the government put a cap or a stop specifically just for Indian people? I made sure i had enough funds to sustain myself here in canada for 2 years until i can get my work permit then a head to PR. Nowdays I see a lot of international Students get access or abusing goverment facilities and benefits for which not entitle for them but Canadian residence only (PR or Canadian Citizen). I never ask for Cerb when covid happen, never ask food bank my part time job can fullfill that, paid my fare for using transportation, paid my rents and utilities on time and paid my credit cards. Lastly i never complaint focus on my study and I get good high paying jobs. I am proud to contribute to Canadian Economy as an Immigrant.\n\nThe question is are they doing the same? University professors are mostly Indians that are impossible to understand according to my sons. Went to an Indian veterinarian that caused my dog to bleed from three of the four nails he cut before I could stop him and will never go to any Indian practitioner of any kind ever again. Indian at a local shop ripped me off at the checkout. Local falafel restaurant made me very ill. Later heard they don't wash so will never eat at any Indian restaurant again. They drive like they own the road and think nothing of cutting you off or running stop signs and lights. They look at you with contempt and have zero respect for females. They do not maintain the property they live in. A city house close to where I live has weeds growing out of the eves trough for the entire area around the drip line of the roof, garbage everywhere and grass/weeds to your knees. Please stay in Brampton or preferably go back to where you came from.

Hi, I'm from India live in India and never dreamt of any other country's citizenship, India is my motherland. As a teacher, I can say that students are going to Western countries because agencies from US, UK, Canada lure them for better education opportunities and better life, their parents spend all their life savings for them and live in financial difficulty here. Some of these agencies are not legal, and people get trapped in various immigration scams all over world. I can see in video the life they are living in bad condition. I think US or UK or Canada or even for the matter India should not allow atleast voting rights, to immigrants right away. If you find some of them useful loyal for betterment of country they can be allowed local citizen's rights. Rest all who are trapped or illegally immigrated should be sent where they belong to by helping them in some way.

Also from what I hear they’ve misplaced 1, million immigrants in this country apparently and considering United States is 10 times bigger that would be equal to like 10 million. Maybe they were ready for deportation who knows but they never went. They just kind of disappeared. Also there a month away from deporting 70,000 international students that think that just because they went to school here means that they have the right to permanently stay but regardless of that just letting you know that those people are probably gonna try to head south for the border.
