I am an Asian American I support Canada and the EU or NATO countries to fight against the evil empire that invaded Ukraine. I believe Putin is the mastermind behind the trade war because he wants to stir up the fights to separate the allies to be weakened. Putin wanted revenge for the fall of the Soviet union. Now his tactics seemed to be working.

Unfortunately you have a real estate developer running the USA, so Greenland can be purchased, Gaza can become a riviera, Gulf of Mexico can be renamed, Ukraine can be arm twisted into handing over its minerals and Canada can become the 51st state so that it can be plundered of all its land and resources. Donald thinks he is intelligent and everyone else is stupid.

I feel like Canada is more upset about this than the US. Tells you everything you need to know. They are dependent on the US. Digging their own grave

This. Canada president needs to shut up. We don't need anything from you. You are just scared that we aren't there to protect you any more.

Millions of Americans and especially those of us in blue states do NOT support Donald and his fascist party. We are with you Canada and the rest of the free world

Canada has issues, for sure. But a lot of them stem from the issues the whole world is going through. The fallout of neoliberalism and the crashout of the USA. To say Canada has an everything criss because stuff is kind of expensive and our businesses are lacking as the US right below us fully descends into fascism is pretty ridiculous.

Only a response to this aggression. What can you expect? Ucrania never started the war, neither did Canada.

Europe has just announced an 800 billion Euro defence plan; I bet they’d be very interested in Canada’s critical minerals. Canadians will not forget this; this has damaged our relationship with the U.S. and it may never recover. We cannot forget that Americans voted this man back into power knowing who and what he is; they somehow believed that he was magically going to lower the cost of eggs, end a war and save the economy. Canadians will never trust that Americans won’t again elect someone so stupid and pathetically unfit to lead their country; we have to start cutting the trade ties now so that we will never be this vulnerable again. I do agree with Dumpty that we need to pull our weight militarily, so we need to invest in our security and we also need to align ourselves with Europe since Dumpty is clearly aligning the U.S. with Russia.

Well Justin, after listening to you smug listing of all the measures you’ve taken to reduce fentanyl traffic as well as “other” traffic and implemented US requests for cleaning up border issues. I ask: “Had the US not made these requests, would you have done the neighbourly thing and cared enough for your neighbour to have monitored what criminals in your country were up to? It appears you had to be reminded of your duties inherent in the ‘office of being a good neighbour’.\nYou are STILL weak and the mouthpiece of ‘controlling interests’ in Europe who in the end will toss you out on the street like some sucked dry orange and forget your fawning presence ever existed. Man up and at least try to leave an honourable legacy for Canadians. The BOC will then be able to fulfil its mission of printing its own money without bringing Canada into the slave-pit of European Banksters.

Why doesn't America have a responsible leader like Canada? Are we going to let our Country be run by Grifters and Greedy Con men? Take action TODAY! Americans make the choices. Not Insane fools by the name of Trump.

The problem here isn't temporary. Tariffs may or may not be. But when Canada, Mexico, and other countries build alternate trade infrastructure and strike deals that exclude America, this becomes near irreversible and will hurt America's economy well after Trumps term. And that's just trade and economy.\n\nThen there are many relationships worldwide which are already affected, and world leaders are poised to move on without America - leaving it isolated. The US is the most powerful country in the world and can survive alone, but even so, no country flourishes without international partnerships that both parties can rely on. Like Putin, nobody can rely on Trumps word.\n\nHe is destroying everything. And the American public are largely sitting back and watching it. \n\nWake up before it's too late.

This is exactly what a failed politicain who has already resigned needs. A crisis. Justin is using this to his advantage. What ever happens he is a bad decision for Canada.

If we compare Trump’s tariff policies with the approach taken during Smooth-Hawley Tariff Act (1930), there are striking similarities and key differences in terms of economic impact and global consequences. Here’s a comparison:\n\nSimilarities:\n\t1.\tProtectionist Goals:\n\t•\tBoth Trump’s tariffs and the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act were implemented to protect domestic industries by imposing heavy tariffs on foreign goods.\n\t•\tSmoot-Hawley raised tariffs on over 20,000 imported goods, while Trump has imposed significant tariffs on China, Canada, Mexico, and the EU.\n\t2.\tRetaliation by Other Nations:\n\t•\tAfter the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act, U.S. trading partners retaliated with their own tariffs, leading to a massive decline in U.S. exports.\n\t•\tTrump’s tariffs are already facing retaliation from Canada, Mexico, China, and the EU, which could slow down global trade.\n\t3.\tMarket Instability & Economic Risk:\n\t•\tThe Smoot-Hawley tariffs are widely believed to have exacerbated the Great Depression by restricting global trade and worsening economic conditions.\n\t•\tTrump’s tariffs are triggering stock market declines, price inflation, and global trade tensions, raising fears of a potential recession.

Why he is still in office? he is the worest thing that happened in canada. dems and turd incentivized illegals for the last few years.

Canada thank you for being the bigger person in all of this, I pray America wakes up one day and just admits they were wrong and sold a false bag of goods by Trump ( for those who were to oblivious to see it)
|

We are reasonable, than why are we being absolutely destroyed by our politicians for the last 10 years? Thats not reasonable.\n\nThe reason they so outspoken now, is because they know it will make it even worse than what they did, and will continue to do..\n\nIf this tarrif thing never happened would be business as usual, and the Canadian Politicians would just keep making Canada even more expensive, now they have someone to blame for the absolute horrible position they put Canada long before this issue.

Saying attacking Canada is being done to keep the US safe sounds mightily like putin saying he had to attack Ukraine to keep Russia safe.

A great Canadian leadership and a proper honest speech. We need this leadership in Italy as well. I wonder if Trump really understood this speech instead of acting with arrogance. Lately, l don't get him. First Gaza, then Greenland, Ukraine, and now Canada?

Well done Canada from your brothers and sisters across the pond. Naturally this is the only reciprocal response to such tariffs by adding ones of your own so I am not sure what Trump aims to gain from this.

It's not always true Canada doesn't stand with a murderer. A convited murderer of former Bangladesh President along with most of his family members has been sheltered in Canada. Despite repeated requests from BD government to extradite him Canadian government especially Mr. Trudeau didn't bother to take any action. It's like kind of cherry picking!
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Anyone on the planet would give anything to have a neighbour like Canada. Justin Trudeau, the world is witnessing how you have risen up to a bully and protected your country and your people. America is run by a goon, and Russia is happy about it.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
As an American the citizens don't really have a choice on what trump decides to do. If you want to match his 25% tariffs I think you should. We qlso don't want to help putin hurt others. We want to work with Canada our allies. I don't personally know anyone that doesn't agree with this but that doesnt meant they do not exost.

The United States has given Canada less than $35.1 million in financial aid in any fiscal year since at least 2001. <<<<<<< MAYBE WE SHOULD TAKE THIS AWAY

Hello from Texas? Thank you Canada for standing up to Trump and not being a coward like the representatives in US Congress!
|

I don't like Trudeau. I don't like what he did to Canada in advancing a ridiculous far left agenda however I also don't believe the tariffs employed by Trump were the correct thing to do. Mexico and China, yes. Canada, no!
