I'm glad they're starting to pay attention to the northern border. For too long have they ignored the Canadian border with the false assumption that nobody dangerous comes through that border.

Take them directly to the airport and give them a one way ticket to their home country. And inform them that they have lost any right to migrate legally back to America. All VISA applications will be denied in the future. Get the message out that America WILL gladly accept applications and grant VISAs to those that have applied legally to enter, live and work in America.

Just like you have to protect your southern boarder the USA needs to have accountability at the northern border. So what’s with the double standard. It’s not all on Canada. As a Canadian I’m glad that we are doing something about this. But as the southern border was closed we have a lot more people coming to Canada illegally trying to get to the states or staying here. We have our own housing shortage that needs to be addressed for existing Canadians who are struggling. I'm glad we are taking a pause and redifining the structure of how and who we receive into Canada. Until we sort out the housing crisis, which is in every major city, there simply aren't enough homes to help those in need and address newcomers who aren't financially self sufficient. If those immigrating to another country, they should provide their new country with their own financial means of support, or be of a profession that is in demand, the sooner they get jobs and pay into the system, the better.
