We are angry - with those people who ignorantly voted for Trump and those people who chose not to vote. Not the people who chose to vote democratically to remain a democratic country. We are clear that his real agenda is to use this trade war to attempt to coerce us into becoming the 51st state. For MANY reasons, we will not EVER become part of Trump’s America. We will collectively fight in any way possible, even though we know it will be tough, to prevent it. We also know that there is a bigger picture in that it’s clear that Trump is aligned with Putin in the push to destroy democracy globally in favour of an authoritarian world order that benefits only the ultra rich. Canada, the Ukraine, Greenland and Panama are stepping stones to that end goal.

It's not the Anericans doing this, it's Trump & his cowardly flunkie Republican stooges. Many of us Americans despise Trump!

Many, many US citizens are with you and support Canada. Trump is creating this tariff war in a unilateral fashion. We do not support it, we don’t want it and our economy doesn’t demand it. These are foolish decisions made by an unscrupulous businessman turned politician.

Be proud Canada and Mexico because so many of us Americans support you and know you got to do what you got to do. All because of this Fu ken Jackass idiot in the White House. Stand up, Be Proud and resist this Donkey and his spineless republican administration.

The significance that PM Trudeau addressed him as Donald go over so many heads. It is greatly appreciated that the PM also acknowledged that Americans will be hurt by this as well, especially those of us who didn’t vote for Trump.

Somewhat right but not exactly right. According to Trump admin, Trump is actually trying to stop the circumvention of Chinese goods and Chinese drugs coming from Canada. Trudeau promised Trump to work on the drug issue, but I guess he did not if we are seeing the significant import tax on Canada now. And come on Trudeau, you dislike Trump and aren't exactly his friend. You talked back on him on many international stages. Anyways, I wish you two get along eventually and hope the same for US and Canada.

Many, if not most Canadians, have family and friends in the US. We are more than trade partners and allies. Canadians are not fighting against US citizens. We are fighting with most of you against this tyranny. We will not let those few psychopaths divide the love and friendship between Canadians and US citizens, as it’s obvious that’s what they are trying to do

Why can’t we have a real leader like this! Instead we have a belligerent egomaniac Russian asset as president. He shouldn’t have even had 10% of the vote. Y’al knew better but didn’t vote better because of many superficial reasons, among them, sexism and racism. Now all of us Americans are losing. I’d love to see the day when we as Americans can come together as ONE & stand up against people like Trump that are harming all Americans. United we stand. Divided, ALL of us fall. Some of y’al thought it wouldn’t impact you even if his policies impacted others (and not you) so you didn’t care and voted for public enemy #1 despite all the warnings given. Now here we are. I really truly hope that America has a whole will look at ourselves in the mirror at what we’ve allowed to be, and change our ways by coming together as one country that wants to see Americans do well and be good and be able to take care of their families, regardless of race or sex, or gender, immigration status or any of the superficial barriers.

Greetings from California! I stand with all of our friends in Canada, Mexico and China! I did not vote for this catastrophe but am definitely feeling the pain of these horrendous tariffs. My heart is with our friends up North and I hope you understand that many of us here in the US did not want this. We are plagued with a complete nut case for a President who was given the ultimate power of house and Senate majority plus the Supreme Court so there is no fix for the nightmare in the near future. All I can say is I am sorry for what we all have to endure now.

I was very disappointed with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. While I have always been pressed by his superior leadership record and skills especially with his spectacular response to the impending tariffs by travelling to UK and Europe and talking about trading with Europe and East Asian countries.\nWhat a disappointment when he called Putin a murderous dictator. Justin, let’s look at the record of your friends in the West. USA has over decades bombed and killed millions of Muslims in Arab countries. Today the murders continue to go one without a peep from you or your western leader friends. In the last week the US has bypassed Congress to ship billions of dollars of bombs to Israel so Israel can with these US bombs cleanse Gaza. So Israel can steal the Palestinian lands so Trump can built a resort and hotels in these stolen Palestinian lands.\nSo what about Ukraine? Same story, different tactic. NATO with your consent poked the Russian bear for decades before Russia, whose warnings about NATO expansion went unheeded. Russia had no choice but to fight a proxy war with Ukraine as US kept on shipping dollars and weapons to Ukraine ‘to weaken Russia’. When you won the election, Justin, I thought that a younger Canadian whose father was one of the most independent thinking leader, that you would take a history lesson and realize that the US foreign policy over decades has been the cause for so much complicity in so many countries around the world. Listen to Jeffrey Sachs and get your thoughts sorted out.\nListen to Ilan Pappe to know how the country you hug and kiss has murdered and stole Palestinian lands for over 7 decades. I have not once heard from you that Israel should be called out.

My indigenous American background has tought me better than this and we stand with Canada, UK, Mexico and Europe. Remind me again why Trudeau was forced to resign? Even NY Times investigative journalists recently explained how NAFTA worked against US interests and killed so much of our industry decades ago; almost the opposite of what was intended. Trade needs to be reformed across the board. It's also insulting the way other world leaders are now speaking directly to the American Public and lying to them as if they have our best interest in mind. World leaders are elected to defend the interests of their own people, many times they just look out for their own personal interest, but they are definitely not looking out for American interest. It is up to us. The world stage is a complicated transaction of this for that. That's life. Have you all forgot playing United Nations in high school? Trade needs to be renegotiated from significantly benefiting every other country but USA. Trump is trying to do that.

Go back and listen to Trump on tariffs. If a country is fair with America, America will be fair with them. Americans do not realize how many tariffs we pay as a country. There are also countries that do not allow us to sell in their countries although they sell to America.\n\nFor years Canada has allowed a steady flow of illegals and drugs into our country. I am a US citizen and I am terrified about everything that is happening in this country. I am horrified that there are so many hateful and greedy people in this country that allowed this orange moron to hold office not once, but twice. I will never understand how he is being allowed to get away with the things he is doing, so many of which are illegal. Where are the US leaders who will stand up to him? He is nothing but a bratty toddler having a tantrum, determined to destroy as much as he can, as fast as he can.. How do so many people not see this?!!!

I served alongside Canadian military when I served in the US military. They were very tough, honorable, and outstanding professionals. I have friends and family from Canada, and they love America. This trade war is so sad and so devastating for so many Americans and Canadians. These tariffs are so stupid, it's beyond reason. Trump is treating America's best friends and allies like enemies! The US seems hell bent on destroying itself. So many people are going to lose their jobs as the US economy goes into freefall. If Trump imposes higher tariffs on Europe too, we'll respond in exactly the same way as Canada.

Don’t be fooled, Trudeau has made the opposition in Canada much more popular with his “good talk/ opposite results. The Dems lost for this exact reason in the US America will be strong either way.
