How can you call us a friend you buy nothing from us you make it hard for us to sell in your country. but yet we import all your goods. Taking advantage of us is not being a friend.

This is really a long conversation about this topic.A new way of thinking in how we are feeding our selfs in house, not by import and export most of the time.. We can not have balance and still do things the old way. The old way is going to fall sooner or later. The more we understand that and adjust, the better we will do in each of our countries.

I'm in the middle east. My mom was Canadian born and my dad American. I support Canada. Trump is mad cuz he can't take over Canada as the 51st state. Canada has a secure border. The border crisis is BS.\n\nThe things that you import from the US, import from UK, Australia, France etc.\n\nThis is what the country I live has done. You find very few US products now. Most imports are coming in from the UK, Australia, France, Greece etc.

Note yourselves: he doesn't take one moment to look away from the people he`s speaking to. He`s direct, comes with the real facts (which he remembers directly from his head) and most importantly; doesn't read from any manuscript. \nThis is a prime example of a real leader in the free world.

friends dont tax friends on imported goods the media fails to realize these are retaliation tariffs from trump we didn't start the trade war they did and i hope their economy collapses because of it

Tariffs are additional taxes for consumers, importers are just collectors for the government of the import destination.

From Australia \nSome valid points made whilst also leaving out some important details.\nRe fentanyl - this stronger enforcement and detection strategy should have been In place years ago and should not have taken the threat of tariffs to take this action.

As a Canadian I was kind of disappointed in this video. A lot of things weren’t explained very well or looked into depth. I just felt like some important aspects were glazed over

AI:\nIn the short term, tariffs may bring some economic and political benefits to the U.S. However, in the long run, they could lead to higher prices, job losses in export industries, and deteriorating relations with an important trading partner. Economists, including Nobel laureates such as Paul Krugman and Joseph Stiglitz, have traditionally criticized protectionist measures for their harmful effects on the economy in the long term.

Brown people living in Western countries, never let your guard down. Never let yourself be lulled by the comfortable thought that just because you learnt english, got a PhD , worked an honest job , kept a friendly demeanour, people would automatically be nice to you. The world is full of unhappy people who would pounce at the opportunity to pull you down and the easiest way to do this is to attack your skin colour, your accent and your job. \n\nJust keep in mind that if you've been honest to yourself, you don't owe anything to anyone: not respect, not deference, not allegiance. Learn to give it right back. Learn to fight the prejudice in it's own terms. Be prepared for the consequences. And most importantly, never look at your motherland as a last resort. Leave your country for life in a foreign land with a goal to return.

I’m an American. I love our home. I love our people. I love our land. I love our principles.\n\nAnd it’s for all those reasons that I support Canada, Mexico, the European nations, and all the other sane countries around the world that are hitting back against these maniacs driving my homeland into the gutters of history.\n\nEven as a leftist, I’ve had my fair share of criticisms for Mr. Trudeau, Mr. Starmer, and Mr. Macron as well as the other leaders of the EU. But now, bygones are bygones. In Americans’ moment of need, it’s clear that three folks care more about the United States and our values than the Republicans ever will.\n\nThank you for standing on the right side of what will certainly be one of the most important moments in modern American history.

Just canceled two cybertruck pre-ordered 5years ago. I’ll buy whoever makes car in Canada.Canada produces 1.4 millions vehicles annually and, sold 1.7 millions 2024. Put tariffs (50%?) temporary on all imported vehicles now? We must use our market to protect our manufacturers , NOW! Please Mr. PM !

What Trump is doing is collecting money from these tariffs, while at the same time bringing certain industries back to the United States. These tariffs will not be permanent but will remain for a certain period to encourage companies to relocate. He runs his country like a business, he doesn’t care if there are job losses elsewhere.\n\nCanada and Mexico will have to adjust and start becoming less dependent on the United States. It will be difficult for Canada because we are a consumer country, we manufacture almost nothing. TSMC is moving to the U.S., his plan is working, and other companies will follow.\n\nHere in Canada, we import a huge amount of American products. We absolutely need to change our habits, we should not support a country that wants to see us fail.

Canada already had tariffs on certain U.S. goods before the recent trade disputes escalated in 2025. Historically, Canada has maintained tariffs on various American products to protect its domestic industries, particularly in sectors like agriculture and manufacturing. For example, under the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (USMCA), which replaced NAFTA and was signed during Donald Trump’s first term, trade between the U.S. and Canada is largely tariff-free for many goods. However, Canada has long imposed high tariffs on specific U.S. products outside of these agreements, such as dairy, poultry, and eggs, under its supply management system. These tariffs can reach up to 270% on milk, 245% on cheese, and nearly 300% on butter, designed to shield Canadian producers from foreign competition.\n\nAdditionally, Canada has applied tariffs on other U.S. goods over the years, often in response to trade disputes or to balance economic interests. For instance, before the latest round of tariffs in 2025, Canada had tariffs on thousands of product categories, though the exact scope and rates varied depending on the goods and trade agreements in place. Posts found on X also highlight sentiment that Canada has had tariffs on U.S. products like dairy and cars for decades, with some claiming rates as high as 25% on U.S. vehicles—though this may reflect specific cases rather than a blanket policy.\n\nIn contrast, the U.S. generally did not impose broad tariffs on Canadian goods until recent actions under President Trump, who introduced a 25% tariff on Canadian imports effective March 4, 2025, prompting Canada to retaliate with reciprocal 25% tariffs on CA$155 billion of U.S. goods. This retaliation built on Canada’s existing tariff framework but escalated the scale significantly. So, while Canada did have tariffs on U.S. goods beforehand, the current trade war has intensified the situation far beyond the pre-existing measures

You would think that Trump would not put blanket Tariffs on imported goods and services from UK, Canada , Australia and New Zealand as there is a common history and connection all the back in time to the UK.

Canadian imports are about 1% of America's GDP. It's not an issue. lol. Canada's exports of goods to the US is about 31% of it's GDP. Go ahead and poke the bear Justin.

Keep your Fentanyl out of America, end your tariffs on the goods you import from America and protect your North West passage from China and we won’t put tariffs against your bull shit insignificant country.

I work at an auto assembly plant in Michigan. There should be no tariffs on imported auto parts for a few years in order for the automakers to have time to set up shop in the USA. Tariffs on food and drink shouldn't exist.

Some persons were just talking about their sentiments on their personal point of view but looking at US point of view, know that the US trade deficit (Deficit exists where US import from another nation to US exceeds US export to that nation from US) with Canada exceeded 58 billion dollars in 2024; with Mexico is more than 170 billion dollars in 2024; and with China is more than 295 billions dollars in 2024. In the Philippines, Philippine entrepreneurs and the like who are exporting their products had been enjoying tax incentives (It does mean when exports live the country versus imports being received by the country then) as Philippine export earning is the one making the Philippine economy richer with money gained while import is making the money to go out of the country (going out as cost or expense) then while being revenue of another country (so that the profit of a country which is revenue less the expense is obviously what is the truth about any argument about tariff (which in a way is discriminating the deficit in becoming wider and wider to the pleasure of those who loved imported goods then).

Has anyone looked at tariffs Canada as been putting on US imports? For example milk gets an over 100% tariff F Canada let’s see how long you can hold out

Ontario and Quebec are threatening to shut down electricity exports which supplies the entire North-Eastern grid, along with oil refinery products out of Sarnia. There is also the likelihood of a 15-25% export tax on oil exports out of the mid-west, which the government will feed back to companies to help with cashflow. Ontario, as the world's largest buyer of Kentucky whiskey and California wine, have already stopped those imports and striped the shelves bare. Canadian consumers are boycotting US products faster than a Dylan Mulvaney Bud Light commercial. Snowbirds spending their money down south next winter? Nope they are going to the Caribbean instead.

Trudeau. On CNN giving a speech because no one in Canada cares to listen to him anymore. \nTrudeau, giving a masterclass in pompous posing and self importance in front of the cameras. \nTrudeau, a Zero's Hero! \nTrudeau, the 3 time blackface wearing semi-whiteboy champion of Multiculturism. \nTrudeau- Defender of Woman's rights!!- until you disagree and he throws you under the bus. Trudeau, a man's man! A ham's ham!! He is Justin Trudeau! \nTrudeau is the kind of guy that wakes up the entire family to let them know he's going to bed...

As a German citizen: our US friends make me so sad and scared at the same time. After our people were defeated, we learned (at least for many of us) where nationalism and hatred can lead and how important international cooperation is. You were our friends as the Canadians were and are. Please come to your senses dear US friends. Underneath all the bad, I hope that the Canadian-European partnership can continue to grow

I think it's important to citizens of the world outside of America to know that not all of us represent this government! I am a veteran and never would turn my back on leadership... Until this clown. I stand with Canada, and all of you who have stated as much. We who didn't vote trump in can now only stand by and watch this mistake happen! It's going to take nations to come together with us to stop this dictator from destroying everything we've fought for! I have given my life to the military as we deployed to many countries to support efforts to rebuild after disasters both natural and man made. Now I call on this nations to stand ready when we need you most! Please don't give up on those of us who still care. It's time!!!

Congratulations America, you voted for Trump and now you're going to feel the full extent of your decision. Imported good are going to increase, inflation is increasing and your markets are going DOWN. Doesn't look like your winning, does it.

What are the tariffs about? Really!!! You can't figure it out? Let me spelt out in simple syllables. Donald Dump is ONLY interested in HIS own power and wealth. No other single person or group has any importance to Dump. That includes the economy, the federal government, and individuals like Musk and Vance. Look out Musk and Vance, at his next funky, wavy, wobbly brain fart Donnie Dump might throw you under the bus, like he has done for millions of Americans who have lost their jobs and lost the benefits they deserve and some must have to continue living.\nDump Trump!!

Would the same happen to canada?? Or doesn't canada import anything from America???or does canada not export most to America???

Canada imposes high tariffs on certain U.S. imports, particularly in the dairy sector. Under the supply management system, Canada tightly controls dairy production and imposes tariffs of up to 270% on some U.S. dairy products to protect its domestic farmers. This has been a long-standing trade issue between the two countries.

-DEAR AMERICANS ..., this video is a prime example of why the USA needs to stop depending so much on other countries for so much importing and start investing in building and start manufacturing products again in the US like it used to be and keeping our farmlands IS VERY IMPORTANT also. Now you see the other side to alot of what's going on , it's important for America as a whole. If you don't understand why manufacturing/ farming/ and investing into some independence like other countries is important ....now you know!!! . Yes their are always gonna be trades and we need them also, But USA is like totally relying on other countries for everything!! We have nothing to offer of value anymore as a country or trade!! \n\n Hopefully the leaders in charge work with these trade countries and they come to fair agreements in fairness and the best intrest of Canada and USA .

As a South African. Wow what a speech. Americans have not voted well. America is so important to the world, such that we feel around the world that we should also have a vote for american president ??

All these things America gets from Canada is because they need it. America must have a shortfall if it imports. Stupidity. Now higher prices through shortage. Idiot orange comrade Trumpski.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
?? his tariff is on a tiny amount compared to what the US imports from them! These countries think they can control the US!? we stop buying from them and they go bankrupt! We can supply all we need in the US of A!

|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
I'm sorry our Canadian's fellows, this is not personal, it's just business. All this year the USA economy has been decreased because we buy (importing) more goods than selling (exporting). We are no in good shape economically to support other countries' economies. We need companies to come back to produce in the USA and those extra charges are an incentive to start producing again in the USA. After our economy is better, we can make new deals.
\nAbout Fentanyl, it is funny that he said that it was all good and after that, saying just in the last months implemented all kinds of security measures. LOL
\nHe speaks nice, but he is not a smart guy. Putting tariffs back to the USA makes it worse with Donald Trump. Donald Trump is a businessman, he can keep increasing the taxes and in the end, Canada will be hurt more than the USA. I suggest to peacefully open a negotiation with Trump, not to fight back at the same level... don't take it personally, it is just business.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
The only reason the US imports so much from Canada is because the Democrats stopped production of all the materials Canada supplies the US because of their green policies. \nBut President Trump is reopening the gas, oil, electricity and agriculture production, so they won’t need to import so much from Canada, in fact probably reducing it substantially. \nProbably what will happen now is discussions on various goods to become equal on terms of cost in both countries levelling the playing field.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Go Canada!!!! we all stand with you well done. So now Tariffs from Canada and China, next will be Europe and Australia will stop all imports from the US Hopefully, Trump will cause a recession on the world
|

I am buying and supporting Canadian and NOT buying anything imported from America. Trump is no more than a thug.
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
Canada can just turn off oil supply to the US. The US cannot refine their own oil, they need to import oil because all their refineries are set up for the type of oil that is imported, and not their own type of oil, which is low-grade
|
| 2025-03-04 | 0 |
on the other hand, US with tariffs will protect its own borders from imported cheap goods and create local produced companies and products. So, no thanks, i will take the tariffs for American prosperity.

As a Canadian Trudeau hater, he really spoke well on this. Unfortunately, this man is also importing another 20% tax on his own ppl in a month
