These days I am given a bit of hope every time I run across one of these videos and deeply hope that these kinds of people actually leave Canada and NEVER come back;\nWhile I know our country is broken, I don't go around shouting it out in a public forum. If enough of these people like you DO leave there might not be quite the housing shortage ... but when that happens most will come running back because you look for the easy and the good - instead of looking for the good and then working to make things easier - with that said this oratory of yours just just becomes redundant!

Many companies reduced their cost by cuting headcounts or lay-off more employees or just post fake hiring posts, actually they just did this for refill the vancancy more effeciently when someone quit their jobs.20% unemployment rate between 16-20 years old. We had anther ridiculous unspoken rules, if your age is over 35years, especially for females, you almost ingores by the job market or public service opportuniies therefore totally unemployment rate is a huge number that the gov chose not to tell the public. I waitnessed my downstairs small busness owners opened a small resaurant and shut down just for running it for one month There's no support or any help for the g\nIt's real hard to survive in China as a Chinese If I go back to my hometown, I also face the truth that there's no job for me as English major. Nice video...Just want to add to it that prefer to come at the right age. Around 23 - 25..This is a age where you can take risk..If nothing works out you can go back to your home country and restart..Moreover, western country is not for folks who are already rich in India.

I lived in Western Europe, Japan and at the moment, Canada. I lucked out getting a well paying job in Vancouver when I moved back a few years ago and my average tax rate is actually the exact percentage you stated in the video - 28%, which includes income tax, pension and employment insurance. I'm actually doing better in terms of quality of life now but I do miss being able to travel around Europe for cheap. (e.g., quick train ride to Paris for the weekend) Now, I take cheap flights (e.g. Flair Airlines) to Mexico instead.\n\nJust to state some data points: when I was in Europe, I paid a total average of 39% income tax on a lower salary than I have right now in Canada. Things like utilities (e.g., gas/electricity), restaurants, certain grocery items and electronics (e.g., iphone/PS5/computers) were significantly more expensive because European VAT (inclusive) is usually 20%+. \n\nI don't have the exact numbers but on average I believe I was paying 70 - 90€ ($100 - 130 CAD) just for electricity each month for a small flat, but I am now paying $30 - 50 CAD for a decent sized 1 bedroom. I believe my housing gas bill was about the same or possibly a bit more. In addition, automobile gas prices were much higher (about $2€/L on average which is $2.90 CAD/L) and I think they could go even higher right now. \n\nHowever, rent is definitely more expensive in Vancouver, but I believe that is true for many West coast cities in North America. Right now I'm paying $2300 CAD a month for a 1BR, and I split that amount with my partner. In comparison, it would have been about €1300 ($1900 CAD) for something similar in the city where I was living previously. In a more expensive city (e.g. Amsterdam) a 1BR would easily cost €1800+ ($2650 CAD).\n\nFor me, the difficulty of making friends in my late 20's stays about the same. I think it is difficult to make new friends after graduating from school, and you have to put yourself out there by joining groups and events. (e.g. Meetup or volunteering?)

Not all provinces are as expensive as BC. The old expresion of BC-bring cash . On the other side of the rockies there,s something called Chinook winds , which deposits warm air from ,yup from ,BC and it,s dry as well . Also you,d be giving up free heath care ,stable policing ,stable goverment ( no revolutions ), US included . We are Belgian, living on Vancouver Island since 2000 and I do feel you, many good points and we are certainly considering the 'leaving' option. Portugal comes to mind cause we do mis 'real' people, as you mentioned, hard to make deep, long lasting friends. Here I learned that every moment, encounter and meeting is unique and so to are the people you get to know, they vanish if you don't keep up. Back to Europe, not back to Belgium.

Who cares why you left... Canada is a great country and not so far gone to have it back on the right track. Sure everyone likes to bitch about something, it's human to complain when your having a bad day,week, or month. Even in the darkest times humans find the ray of sunshine and start to chase it knowing that it will be better in the future. To make a video that you had to leave ...who cares, your mom or family or friends. Did you think about the thousands of Canadians who went to war to fight for what you have today? This is a very thoughtful and balanced review. As a retired Canadian who had a good job for most of my life, I'm saddened by the decline in almost all areas of life, lifestyle and and people's aspirations in this country. This decline actually seems quite rapid, I would say from 2015 onwards. Housing in major centres was expensive, but it has skyrocketed in the past decade. There has been a decline in many institutions: 1. health-care, especially noticeable since the pandemic that coincided with many boomer medical staff retiring, but also by our sclerotic institutions refusing to enable foreign-trained doctors to work here. Many foreign-trained doctors in the Vancouver area are doing jobs way below their qualifications while many people cannot even get a family doctor. Crazy. Econonically, there seems to have been no plan at all from the government as we exited the pandemic. At least the US had a plan, to 'build back better'. Our government just floats along as if everything is fine, when the decline is very visible especially to older Canadians. We have admitted 1/2 a million people a year from overseas, so our economy should reflect this and show an upswing. But no, we're in a 'technical recession' as of December and probably a real recession as of last week. I have never voted Conservative in my life, but Trudeau is a flaky dimwit with a famous name who has no clue what he is doing. A fool, in fact. He's mismanaged our foreign relations beyond belief, and nothing has improved domestically. When Pierre Poilievre says 'Canada is broken', I believe it. We deserve much better leadership; in Canada's case, the rot does come from the top. Justin the entitled idiot is much more like his mother than his father.\n\nLong rant. As around 8-10 years ago, I embarked on a similar journey, leaving North America for the Middle East, Far East, and South East Asia in search of a country with Islamic values and environment. However, I eventually returned back due to witnessing too much hypocrisy and lawlessness in those places. Unfortunately, there isn't a single country in the world that can be considered a true Islamic country. If you've found something that fits the criteria, please feel free to share. Honestly, I can't claim it's 100%, but during Dr. Mahathir's time, Malaysia seemed around 60-70%. The main challenge was the language; learning Malay is essential to fit in better. English is widely spoken and understood, but proficiency in Malay enhances the experience. As for Turkey, UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, they fall short at the 20-30% level. May Allah SWT bless you, your family, and guide you to find the best fit that meets your religious needs.

I was an immigrant child coming from Uzbekistan to USA. I got married and had 3 kids, we built our family in the US, but left 7 years ago, and moved back to Uzbekistan. I was very reluctant at first, but Alhamdulillah it was the best decision for our family! \n\nIt was actually very hard to adjust to the culture here for me because I’d become very Americanized and indoctrinated with feminism ?. One of the sweetest videos I've come across on Canada. No negativity or hate-mongering, just facts as it is in the simplest of ways. I've been living here for almost 3 years now- and I'm used to being alone, but I still find the void maybe its seeing your own people back home. I'd say it's quite a struggle to live here and you start to accept it as a norm. But I love motorcycling and I am overwhelmed by the natural beauty- did some amazing rides in summer, but unfortunately winters are here now. While I have three years on my OWP, I'd use that time to gain more experience, travel across the beautiful landscapes and head back home. I don't see myself settling in here- not my kind of life. I am very adaptive and have come up on my own in life from a very tough childhood- I love Canada for what it is, but then it's just not for me.

While much of the content of this video is correct, much of it strikes me as opinionated without sources to back up what is being said. For example, I have not seen any evidence that suggests that municipal gouvernements are intentionally preventing the construction of new homes in an effort to prevent the values of older homes from dropping. This is a really good video, I've travelled around a lot and now that I'm back this seems more heightened.\n\nlike now that I'm here, it seems like this is more true than before. After that I also selected principal applicant and relationship of my mom to the applicant. However, after that when I click 'save and continue' it does not take me to the fee page but it takes me back to the group table and asks me to select principal applicant again. This has happened 10 times now and I don't know how to proceed to the fee payment page. Is this a common error or do I need to wait for sometime?

what has been shared in this video is nothing that people are not aware of. Everybody knows that you have to do all the work yourself,no maids, cooks, etc. like India.These facts have been there for years, nothing new about them. If people want to got there for further education, it is different, but then Canada is not all that good as far as higher education is concerned, there are better countries to choose from with better weather conditions and better lifestyle and high class education. Who would want to live in a cold and inhospitable country, payig through your nose. Here in India, if we fall sick even with just cough / cold, we can go to the nearest doctor and get medicines, sometimes we can even just ask the pharmaists to help us to choose some medicines for pharmasist here are half doctors.\nEven our standard of living has become so good, that we don't even feel like shifting to a new country. We have metros, good buses both AC as well as non AC, good trains, good resturaunts, hotels, what is it that we don't have here?\nIt is always better living as a first class citizen in our own country, than living like second class citizen elsewhere. The attraction and the charm of living abroad is no longer there.\nOur country has improved so much and so fast in the last 10 years, we have good bathrooms in schools and other public places, which was not there previously. Only drawback in our country is the traffic and infrastructure, which will also become better, but will take time, because of our country's population.\nIn fact you will find servants and watchmen all coming to work in a bikes or scooters, which was unthinkable some years back. I think your video and the Leaky Bucket study have not addressed the first and major concern why immigrants are leaving. We moved here for our kid's future, the Future of Canada lays on generations to come. When we see the evil behind the sexual education that's being pushed we can see clearly evil intentions behind it. \nWe move from thousands of km to come here, wanting sustainable economic growth, but then we're being hit with a much venomous ill intentionally motives.\nNothing stands a chance against our kid's education, even it it meant to go back.

Chorkor i was blessed to have come across this video... it really moved me..back in 2019 started by going to Ghana.. i left Nigeria through benin republic to togo lome then aflao to Accra....was in Ghana for about 1yr..came to Nigeria. 2020 i was aspiring for Germany but due to covid everything was still. Then 2021 i applied for masters program in Warsaw Poland. But i was duped for about 4euro. By the person who wanted to help me pay my sch fee..i still didn't give up 2022 i applied for ireland visiting visa was denied... but this your video is giving me hope...as we speak now my home country is hell..people have almost ran away ???

My spouse is my sponsor and intend paying my tuition fee, what will be my home tie since I'm moving with my family? Though my husband is not staying for long just to follow us there so that we can be fully settled before going back to work? We have landed properties and building. Can I use that as home tie or use my extended family since?

Yikes! Born and raised in Syracuse, NY and after college spent 16 years in Los Angeles until finally moving back to NY last year. Any comparison between Toronto and L.A. I simply won't stand for.....and I really mean that because you have less gun violence, seems like more cultures get along there, plus it looks cleaner. I'd consider moving to Buffalo just to be within an hour of Toronto to take weekend trips. After seeing how the rents up there are close to SF or NYC, def can't move there anymore. There's an appeal Canada has in terms of safety and perhaps better quality of life than the U.S. but frustrating to see housing crisis is even worse up there! I'd hate to see Toronto start to remind people of anything remotely close to California. Def sounds like you need a new PM asap.
