Wait a second, just a few weeks ago CNN was saying that Canada had outfoxed the US/Trump and they were not doing anything more than what they had decided to do well before Trump's election when it comes to stopping illegal immigration and the transport of fentanyl into the US? Now they are trying to convince us that Canada is very understanding and accommodating of US needs and is doing a lot!!!! Fake News Network! True Americans should stand with United States of America and not Canada. LOL

I'm not going to speak on the issue of immigration at the Canadian border because there simply is none. Yes, there are illegals from Canada, but almost 100% of them are from overstaying visas rather than crossing the border unlawfully. So let's talk about fentanyl. \n\nMost fentanyl in the US originates from China, often in precursor form, and is then processed in Mexico before being smuggled into the states. But it's typically trafficked in small, high potency quantities, often hidden in legitimate shipments or through mail, and only on very rare occasions is it being brought in by individuals crossing the border. It has _never_ been documented to have shipped in as part of large scale commercial imports, so a 25% tariff on legal trade with Canada and Mexico doesn’t directly target the black market supply chain at all.\n\nIf we take Trump’s reasoning at face value, the argument seems to be that he wants to exert economic pressure on Mexico and Canada as a means of having them crack down harder on drug trafficking networks. But the issue is that fentanyl simply isn’t coming in through mass import channels, so all this looks like is a punitive measure without a clear mechanism to actually achieve its stated goal. And the implications? Drastically higher costs for consumers in the US, Canada, and Mexico, with absolutely nothing to show for it.

It irritates me that Trump attacks canada for fentanyl and illegal immigration when its the other boarder that is the vast majority supplier. My godson's parents, who he loves and respects and helps financially, are undocumented immigrants here in the US for 30 yrs. He lives in a community of undocumented folks. He and his brother voted for Trump. His whole family understands the consequences of so many people being here illegally. They all understand that being here illegally is a way for our government and the elite to use and abuse people much more easily. When you have as large of a percentage of the population who aren't protected by their citizenship and the laws and who can't access the full benefits of citizenship and who are always scared of being caught and will take less pay, people can be used and abused more easily.
