Tenants like this one are abusing the backlogs, landlords like this one want pitty when they are clearly MAKING INCOME on these rentals but are NOT paying taxes on those earnings yet, everyone else has to pay taxes on what little they earn. PLUS, there are landlords such as mine that has decided to take away my basement after renting the WHOLE house so he can build another unit so he can make more money but all he's offered is to keep my rent at the same price, no increase. I have to put up with losing space, parking, dealing with deathly noise for who knows how long just so he can make more money????? He should have made a clear contract around this plan he had to add another unit when he rented it to me. Sadly, landlords have become very greedy, I don't know where they get so much money to buy multiple homes but most families in Canada today can't afford the outrageous downpayments being asked to own a home!!!! I don't necessarily feel sorry for landlords. NOW pay taxes on your income from these homes and you have more of a right to complain I say.

Worked for a company who was 89 percent single mothers or house wives. With in a year of a Indian person buying into the company we were all replaced by students and Indians on work visas. I am a skilled worker (an engineer), I graduated from a master's in Germany and speak fluent german. Housing is one of the negative points I can mention. Another one is the waiting times for a document work at Ausländerbehörde. Here in Stuttgart it is the worst as far as I see. \nAnother thing I dont like is to pay so much to the health insurance and at the end you even cannot get an appointment when you have a tooth ache for instance. \nAnother rather cultural difficulty is that you cannot find a place in the society, Germans do not make friends and when you only make friends with expats then it does not feel you are a part of the society. At least from my understanding.\n\nPositively enough, I have not yet faced racism in my daily life etc. \n\nI would be thinking to leave Germany one day maybe, but for another german speaking country probably.

I am really frustrated that Americans seem to be ignoring this situation. Trump has cheated, and both he and Musk present a troubling example. It's hard to take America seriously when they are compared to Kamala. The election was compromised, and Trump is one of the worst offenders. If this continues, America will lose all its global respect. It's disheartening to see how Trump has managed to undermine 250 years of progress in such a short time, and the responsibility lies with those who voted for someone like him—a figure who has incited chaos and division. I'm an immigrant looking to get my PR, I have qualifications from one of the top universities in the world, experience as an international consultant and most important I do respect the Canadian culture and follow the rules. However, even for me it is uncertain what is going to happen? and/or if the government will make more changes and kick us out hahaha. I do believe that immigration has poured a lot of money into Canadian's pockets and most of them are not considering that, some of that money is going to go to another country who is willing to manage immigration with a better approach and provide a more certain perspective to new immigrants. The government allowed many bad actors (locals and foreigners) to take advantage of the system and those who are going to pay the bill are new immigrants due to political elections, and that is just sad. We will see who are they going to blame for mismanagement of public resources and the possible crash of several industries, that are currently relaying on foreign money, once there are no new immigrants to blame. I agree with most of the new rules regarding immigration, but I strongly disagree with the political approach of how the government is blaming immigrants for their lack of proper management. I still believe Canada is a great country no matter the outcome of my personal immigration process, wish you all the best of luck!

In trying to solve one problem (avoiding a recession), another problem was created (too many too quickly). I pray the government makes decisions not only to make those who complain happy but also what’s best for the good of Canada and Canadians. Time will tell.

Thank you for summarizing these key changes! Many problems are actually the Canadian immigration system not learning from the mistakes of the US system and now it’s suffering the same consequences. If Canada cuts down on those selected immigrations but still takes in refugees, it’s only going to make anti-immigrant sentiment worse. Selected immigrants are allowed into Canada to help alleviate Canadian issues…or at least people who come through Express Entry are less likely to become a burden. On the other hand, refugees, given their unfortunate circumstances, really need to rely on a lot of social services and resources to help them resettle. The US has eliminated pretty much all non-humanitarian immigration that’s why immigrants are so demonized there. Americans only feel the drags of refugees and asylum seekers (even though ethically we need to protect them) and there is no selected immigration to balance that out. Yet this round of Canadian policy change is heading exactly that direction.\n\nIt used to be international students in Canada are not paying a lot more tuition than Canadian students. But Canadian universities saw how much money universities in the US are making so they asked the federal government to change the policy to enable them to charge international students several times the regular tuition (whereas in countries like France, international students actually pay less than citizens). So now Canadian universities rely too much on international students to operate and it becomes an exploitative relationship even before students step foot on the campus. The new PGWP eligibility is awful because students can make contributions in every field. It might (and that's a big if) address the pressing problems, but it won't help Canada grow.\n\nI thought the new language requirement was interesting. Some Canadians who immigrated decades ago when the bar was really low still speak English poorly and now they are saying people can’t come to Canada because their language skills are not sufficient. Another point about language is if you apply through Express Entry now, even if you scored the highest language score, given how competitive the pool is, you still won’t get selected. So it’s a given that you need to be fluent in one of the languages at least to get an invitation. Express Entry also selects only the top people, I saw the head of The Institute for Canadian Citizenship in interviews talking about those top-tier people only expect the best treatment/lifestyle when they come to Canada. That's why many of them leave after seeing these Canadian problems play out. But I believe a good Canadian life is not about living in a high rise in Vancouver and Toronto, driving an expensive car, or buying luxury items...it's about the communities, nature and middle-class comfort. So the system is giving PRs to the wrong kind of people (just like mismatched people when hiring that don't align with company values).\n\nThis brings me to the last frustrating issue. There were so many people who attended “fake” universities and bought “fake” jobs to earn points to get an Express Entry invitation. And it's clear that the government wasn't proactively catching these abuses. They are taking up spots from those who try to earn the points fair and square. If I understand correctly, Canada doesn’t send these people away if they are found out (since some of them were scammed). So they still take up immigration quotas.\n\nI have wanted to move to Canada for a long time. I have visited Canada many times, hiking trails through the coastline and fjords, climbing mountains and glaciers. I lived in Montreal for two months to improve my French and I was told by my homestay family that I was the first student they had who didn’t complain about the cold (I wish the winter never ends so I can skate or xc ski in the parks year-round). I have probably seen more Canada than many Canadians and I love every bit of it. But the opportunity for me to even get a shot to move there is pretty much nonexistent now. The Ford EV one of my friends drive was made in Mexico. Another friend told me that her refrigerator and tv was made in Mexico as well. So, I think the general population is (including myself) a little ignorant about where the household items we use everyday come from. It's not just avocados, tomatoes, beer, and tequila and immigrants arriving from the southern border. As for Canada, we import most of our gas from there, as well as, precious metals. I suppose that if we are struggling financially now, what is coming our way might be a little worse for some people. I have friends that say that prices going up does not affect their budget at all. Family helps each other out, those Indians would do anything to keep a family member from living in the streets. This would put their family in shame in their community. Canadians have something to learn from the Indians. By the way their religion disapproves of alcohol & drugs so they don’t have that problem. As someone who formerly worked with the DHS, and by extent, ICE, the real headache that comes with deporting someone is verifying a derpotee's nationality/country of origin, and getting said country to also verify the deportee's nationality. Information one with nothing to lose will most likely not give up willingly. Contrary to popular belief, you can't just take any illegal and throw them over the Mexican border (unless you're actually Mexican by Nationality.). If they're from any country that doesn't border the US, i.e Mexico or Canada, they must be repatriated to their countries via charter flights. Which is another diplomatic headache unto itself.

You have to understand what western civilization is first. \nThe west is made of many different cultures who over the centuries of fighting one another have integrated with the end goal of peaceful coexistence with each other . In comparison the mass and rapid influxes of non-westerners over only the last 60 years is causing the real problem of parallel societies with no incentive for new comers to adapt. The blame clearly is on the governments policy’s to over look such a fundamental human condition. \nThe average QI in India is 75 while Canadians are 100 IQ ,so they probably could use a lesson here on how to get along in a culture that will voluntarily adapt to them as proven by history but they also need voluntary do so too

I've been replaced 4 times by foreigners. I worked at Amazon and the entire huge warehouse of hundreds of people was only East Indians with only me and 3 other white people. I worked at Ballard and the entire production floor could not speak English at a elementary school level and was replaced by a guy from Iran who had never been to Canada and was in the country for 1 month. All the shift mangers were from Iran and my section was only Iranians, East Indians and Chinese. I was the top production worker by far doing the work of 4 other workers proven by the actual numbers in an attempt to keep my job but still got removed of course to make way for more Iranians because it was obviously a way to bring their people here. Zero locals were in the entire production floor. I can not have the dignity to own my own home and never will be able to even though I grew up here went to collage and university and worked hard. Rent is beyond insane and they raise it the maximum legal amount every year which is huge. All my life I had to bow down to foreigners. The locals have lost their homes and can not buy another house or could never buy one and never will be able to. All are slaves to foreigners who think they are superior and treat them like garbage. The foreigners get help from the government somehow and get loans they never should be able to get because they have crooked contacts in the Chinese owned financial institutions. They then build 5 to 10 unbelievably horrible illegal suites and that is where most of the locals now have to live in. The neighbourhoods went from a very low population of Chinese and East Indians to insanely high levels such as 98 percent. There is no sense in complaining to any government body because the Chinese and East Indians have infiltrated those key positions and always side with their own kind. The legacy news/media is fully aware but are owned by foreigners and never will talk about these issues. Canada has for sure been invaded and taken over and is lost. No one is bringing it to light and worst is no one is trying to fight it. Any attempts you are labeled as a horrible racist.

And going after employers does that job even faster. my dil is mexican and is here legally. last march my son called me very early one morning with the news that his brother in law had been randomly murdered the night before. he was also in this country legally. as is my Dil's younger sister who lives with them. They also recently took in one of her younger sister's high school friends who was pregnant. they kept the girl safe with them until she gave birth. when I visited last may, I brought multiple baby gifts for the girl. when I have posted this before. there were many hateful comments that my son's brother-in law was probably killed by another illegal. Actually he was here in the country legally, as is my daughter-in-law. my DIL works hard doing payroll at a portland contracting company. she is here legally. at this point I can't wrap my mind around the hate that is thrown on people from other countries. most of us have ancesters that came from other places. I know that I do.

Anyone reading this that is planning on crossing the border. I'm gonna be frank with ya. Aside from the fact that you probably shouldn't be trying to circumvent our laws just to avoid a situation you don't like in the USA right now... you also shouldn't be trying to cross our border in what is becoming our winter season. \n\nThere are plenty who try, and many do meet a grim fate due to the elements they are just not prepared for. And even if you think you can do it, or prepare enough to do it, you still shouldn't. There isn't much you can do when you have fallen into one of the many sloughs that hide beneath the snow and ice during winter, waiting to make you a popsicle. And if you get out of that, you still have to somehow get warm again. But let's say you avoid that, what then? Well, we have these really cold biting winds that make the -30 temps feel like -40 or worse. But you came prepared, so let's say you can handle that for a bit. Well, you sweat. You will get damp, then wet, over time. Then your fancy clothing doesn't do much for you anymore. Ya dig?\n\nOh but wait, there's more. So we have this wildlife eh', and it likes to do this thing that wild life does... and it eats you. Coyotes are one such kind of wildlife. Bears are another. Both are prolific in certain areas, all the way down to the border in some cases. \n\nGranted, coyotes usually aren't a huge problem for us up here, but that's cause we know how to deal with them usually. Bears are another issue, that even we have problems with at times. You'll probably run into a black bear if you run into one. Grizzlies tend to be further north and to the west. You're gone too far somehow if you find Polar bears. \n\nThere are other critters to mention, but they're more active in the summer, like rattle snakes. (Yes, we have them)\n\nOkay, so you got past the border, and you actually somehow managed to survive the winter temps in your trek to some sort of civilization. Now you have to somehow find a place to live. This is of course assuming you decided to try to bypass all our border security of course. You could go to an embassy and declare asylum I guess. But right now, you're more likely to be given a ticket back to where you came from initially. So that's not something in the game plan for you. What then?\n\nWelcome to being homeless. Oh, and you're still having to deal with our winter temperatures. \n\nSuffice to say, right now is not a good time to be trying to ignore our laws just to do whatever you want. Consider this a fair warning, as this about all the F's I have to give over it all in regards to your safety. I just am dismayed that some of you mouth breathers are going to get your kids harmed because of it all as well.
