we needed it , too many companies in my trade use the LMIA program soooo much and now it's getting hard to find a job in my industry as it's full of immigrants, building is slowing a bit and now way too many here wanting the same jobs, plus all the labour pimps pay them less and are able to undercut us ruining wage growth

Part of the problem is our politicians becoming so corrupt working With your countrymen getting your kickbacks from a temporary foreign worker program. a temp work a program that's been going on for over 30 years so I hardly think it's temporary don't you? they don't realize how pissed off their constituents are. And trust me and once we actually figure out the level of your corrupting our institutions you're going to pay for what you've done because there's obviously been some type of conspiracy going on everyone knows it. when there are so many coincidences that there's no longer a rationale to judge it coincidence There's little point in US pretending that everything is hunky-dory and hey it must be just simply a misunderstanding no it's you guys sabotaging Canada and other parts of the West. How quickly companies like Nortel were totally destroyed and then we have a weird quickest tendency of something like Huawei. With obviously knock off the products that took a hell a lot of research and development for companies like Nortel who actually did the work to make. Let's see how well they're actually able to innovate when they actually no longer have access to the cookie jar. It pisses me off like we've done so much on this planet to actually push Humanity forward into a much more modern era where would be nice to travel to the Stars mind you like Country like we are nothing but Scoundrels and we had nothing but yeah. The nonsense in Canada started with Brian Mulroney, free-trading away Canada with his brown envelopes. They then flood our land with others who have little respect for our land or culture at times.We cannot grow bananas or tea in snow. WE are a resource based land and we need to treat our own fairly and first.

USA should give them green cards immediately. Do not try to fight the inevitable or waste any money on deporting them. Train them immediately in a skilled trade that America needs and let them work.

It's just really sad for the babies & children that get pushed into it by their parents. No child should die or drown because of pushbacks. Think EU needs a new system, either a centre outside of Europe where you can only apply there, and others are sent there or send back to their country. Countries that don't allow it, will be out of trade, business and no more international help until they take those back. Time to prevent, and not kill.

The problem is not just the tenants. Part of the problem is creation of a speculative housing market where housing a basic human need is primarily constructed for stock market like trading speculation rather than providing shelter for people. If you already own a house or condo that you are already living in why should you be allowed to personally buy multiple housing properties. My opinion is that if you are not a real estate developer or the government you should be limited to owning only one extra real estate property with the only extra exception being a recreational cottage

We desperately need skilled trades people, doctors, nurses ect.. I’d be thrilled to have immigrants if those were the jobs they were filling. They would be an asset to our country

I arrived in 2012 originally from Australia. I’m now a citizen and I learned a trade here too. I’m on a decent wage and I can’t keep up and can’t imagine I’ll ever own my own home here. We’re not against immigration but it needs to be slowed dramatically by about 90% for a few years. I’m being forced back to Australia to seek financial help from my family to hopefully purchase a property back there. The Canadian dream is dead and there’s also to many Indians here.

What happened to the point system?! We need 1000x more skilled trades coming in, but all we get are subpar security guards and Tim Hortons workers.

My grandparents on my mom's side came over from Scotland after WW2. They bought one of the cheap plots that were available then, but then my grandfather BUILT their house. He was a tradesman (dual carpentry/electrician certified). Lots of that house is still original, with occasionally new paint, and looks new.\n\nFast forward 75 years and we're importing Business Majors and IT specialists to cities that need construction workers and trades people. The houses being built start falling apart before you finalize the paper work. If you DO have the skills and desire to build something yourself, there's a lengthy approval process ahead of you just to get started.\n\nHope you didn't come here with a medical degree, or a specialized certification. That's another long process to be approved to work here. Doesn't matter if you came from rural China or you worked in the US at a major hospital. \n\nLawyers, lobbyists, politicians, and landlords have destroyed the Canadian dream, and we're all sick and tired of it. I have a lot of sympathy for immigrants sold a lie, who come here and end up homeless or worse, but we can't stop what's happening abroad. We can only change what we do here.

We brought in immigrants because we needed skilled labour. The immigrants came and worked at Fast Food establishments instead. Canada didn't address the skilled labour shortage how they should have, INVEST IN CANADIANS. Education is far too expensive for the essential trades and sectors and health care especially is no longer desirable because they're treated poorly and overworked. They should have fixed the issue at its core. Instead they brought in people they didn't properly vet. We also didn't have the resources to bring in so many people (housing, jobs, healthcare, education) so some (especially in BC/ ON) have turned to crime and gangs.

I am all for immigration if it is adding a benefit. Right now the government is using immigration to juice up gdp numbers, the trade off is weaker gdp per capita, lower living standards and higher unemployment = more gov spending and less productivity. Need to focus more on quality and it would be nice to see more diversity in the targets.

As a Filipino watching the economy of USA from afar, I think that no other politician has shown significant concern to help its economy except for Trump. He's pretty bold and not scared to voice out issues that make the democrats uncomfortable. It is not for me to decide who others will vote. However, I see a leader in Trump and he's not afraid to fight back. It's only a matter of time for the Chinese to create its own microchips that are of novelty and prestige. Their economy is of course stagnant as of the moment because many foreign companies pulled out from China. Nevertheless, do you think it's going to be forever? They will cope and soon establish theirs given their population and government financial backing. Trump was right to put trade war against them to regulate foreign trade as it did with Japan. All countries will suffer when the dollar loses the international prestige. It is fastly losing it's international reputation as of these days. If this won't halt, imagine a future where the Chinese RMB will be the basis of international trade. You don't know the real plan of the Silk Road guys. Americans are conquerors and we have adjusted with their ways already. And, the Chinese are conquerors as well. Their goal is to really surpass the USA. The rise of China has benefited every ASEAN member, but greatly the former than the latter. We can adjust with their ways. However, America and Europe may not be that ready to adjust their ways for them should they surpass USA. The USA has become complacent and too liberal where individual rights, although important, have gone too far-fetched. This has created entitled individuals who think they own the world. Now, look at the Chinese. While most young Americans are busy dancing in TikTok and the likes of wasting time for entertainment, most young Chinese are studying hard and upskilling. Let's remember that America became great because of its inventions and extremely the nuclear power. Without great minds, minds that are feebled by drugs and misguided philosophies, a society will crumble. USA can use its weapons and influences against other countries, but can it hold the progress of it's rival economy for the rest of the years? You guys need a leader who is competitive and won't back down from a fight. As of these days, given only two political candidates to choose for presidency, I dare say that Trump has a higher bidding for the goodness of USA. Of course he wasn't able to accomplish his plan before after you guys impeached him. How the hell can a leader complete its plan after being halted unprecedentedly amid his administration? Kamala Harris looks promising but not convincing. Aura, although unquantifiable, do speak something. Choose your leader and it will choose your fate. Let's hear what the two sides will share this upcoming debate. If I'm American, whoever wins that debate, wins my heart. As easy as that. You see, if someone can be defeated so easily in his or her country through debate, do you think that whoever that someone who wins will be able to compete globally? We need to halt trade with Canada until they change their policy;. They need us much more than we need them.; Canada has turned out to be an enemy.

What would the impact be if we quit allowing transportation from New York into other states. Like shut it down. If New York allows illegal immigrants into its state the rest of the states need to reject trade and transport coming from New York.

I have some comments about some of the things in the video. Including Olivia Chow in the video when talking about housing affordability with local government policies I don't think is right to inlcude her as she only got elected last year and has to deal with all the decisions and issues from the past Toronto mayor. It's similar to blaming Biden for the economic issues of the US when a lot of the reasons for the downturn economy in the US during his first term was the impact of the economic policies that Trump put in place, it takes time. In terms of the carbon tax, I think its a valid criticism with the compounding issues canadians are facing, but also take into consideration that the provincial governments also have some play with this, as they have the ability to go for the standard carbon tax or implement a cap and trade. A lot of conservative governments like to complain about the federal government about this, but they are also to blame for some of the lack of affordability for political points. As well for the banking fees, we do have a smaller selection of banks, but there are some options that Canadians can have that do not include fees (Simplii, Tangerine). Everything else in the video I agree on, I also think personally that all political parties need a shake up in leadership.

The biggest impact on the declining economic productivity coincides with the Trump administrations trade war against Canada. They ripped up the previous trade agreement, and tabled a new one that attempted to devour Canadian industry. No one ever talks about this, and it's unfortunate. That coupled with the pandemic, resulted in a one-two punch to the Canadian economy. On top of that the amount of investment into automation in the energy sector over the past 10 years has reduced the demand for labour. And now with the ever expanding encroachment of AI on nearly every industry, the Canadian economy is facing an uphill battle. Many think that a prime minister is the main reason, when it's not. Canada is at the whim of US economic policy, which I fear is going to get even worse when Trump returns to office. A transition to Conservatives at the Federal level may lighten the load on a few things like Carbon Tax, and Income Tax (maybe), but they won't be the party to introduce limitations and regulations on investors that are responsible for driving up housing prices, by treating the housing market like it's a stock exchange. \nI will applaud Trudeau on winning over the EV battery plant, for pulling us out of bombing Syria and Iraq, for legalizing Marijuana, and for including Dental Care in health coverage (albeit limited...), but some of his decisions should have been better thought through, like the capital gains tax, and should only be targeting investors that have more than 3 properties. While he increased the budget for the Military, he's spent his first two terms ignoring it and that's severely hampered our readiness, and equipment. And while I do think we needed to boost immigration to stave off economic disaster, the current level that its at is problematic, and many bad faith actors are taking advantage of it and enriching themselves like the diploma mills.

I live in rural Nova Scotia which is mostly untouched by mass immigration. When I travel to places like Toronto on the other hand, it is a stark reality. Immigration used to be the family that moved here because the dad had a trade or profession that was in demand, thus contributing to the economy. Within a generation, they are fairly well integrated into Canadian society. With mass immigration, you create enclaves where immigrants never integrate but instead exist in parallel societies. Rather than leaving the old hatreds and feuds from the old country there, they import it here and it continues. Immigration by and large is beneficial to any nation, especially when you are the recipient of the “best and the brightest”, ie. selective immigration like we used to do. Immigrants were accepted based on a matrix of traits such as education, trade or skill etc that were needed in this country. Bringing in millions of people without doing anything to improve your transportation infrastructure, housing, social services etc is just simply irresponsible. Even if we shut the door to immigration for years until we can catch up, it still would take decades. This is unsustainable.

My dad was an immigrant, and we need skilled trades immigrants. Anything other than that is a drain on taxpayers. Bringing immigrants in to change the vote is wrong. Criminal immigrants need to be deported with their families.

We don't need any more people from anyhwere on Earth. We need more money spent on present day Canadians for grants for trades training with much less red tape.

Back in the late 70s and 80s into the early 90s, retail jobs were an excellent supplement income for a family and or single person because it was worth it - today, not so much.

People who apply to come to Canada as legal immigrants , have to go through a strict points system.that can take years . Plus medical and security checks. New immigrants dont integrate in Canada or Canadian life. The priviledge of going to school is for study not PR. Its not a back door immigration program. You dont go to any other country and make demands or protest. Few if any go in the needed trades so time to go home. The numbers are unsustainable and its killing communities with housing and jobs as well as limited resources like healthcare and education. Governments and post secondary have failed Canadians who have had enough of paying the price and need borders closed. Clearly somewhere along the line these students are coming with false promises and expectations. With housing crisis if Colleges and Universities cant house all those they bring over on campus and provide the housing then higher caps to meet who they can house. Failure to do so close them down. Most communities are in emergency state for homelessness so of course no sympathy or tolerance for protests. Schools are for study only not a back door.

It seems to me that thirty years ago it was Canadian youth who were saying they couldn’t get a job because they didn’t have the experience. We should have a glut of carpenters and plumbers and electricians but instead these industries are experiencing a short supply of skilled workers. Perhaps, given a chance, these temporary workers will learn the trades that are only expected to be in great demand with the need to house so many new Canadians.

Our education systems from kindergarten through to postsecondary education and spending it on the Canadians that were here. We've turned our post-secondary institutions in Canada into diploma Mills where you know your VA and your you know postgraduate degrees or you know they're worthless. However the government and the education system grew into a very profitable industry grinding out worthless degree after worthless degree for foreign students who thought when they got these degrees with 50% of Canadians have. People have to realize that post-secondary education is a big business so they're going to sell you a dream that's going to cost you a lot of money what I suggest is when YouTubers want to do something on Canada do some proper research let people know that we really do have quality post-secondary education system but you have to look at when you graduate those jobs going to be there to pay that large salary does White collar jobs are disappearing almost gone I purchase an app for my company with small company about 10 employees this inexpensive app alone has taken my office staff from 7: to 2: I have a 10 Red seal tradesman tradeswomen these 10 highly skilled trades people earn between 125 and 145,000 a year in gross salary and I need five more of these highly skilled people and I can't find them cuz everybody's running in to get a useless postgraduate degree. What's happening in Canada's economy and the economies around the world it's all the same the US economy's doing quite well and talked to last couple of weeks friends that have invested their and families have been there long-term at present the United States is building a war economy so there's money pouring into that effort it does have a booming you know Hi-Tech boom as well however the tech boom is offshore with American companies and it's taking place in a part of the world that no one would think it would take place so if your graduate in the tech industry go online do a little research you'll find out where it is the USA is building a huge chip factories I think they just poured in 70 or 80 billion dollars we're in a transitioning economy don't get discouraged put your head into it do your homework find out where these new jobs are coming from which jobs are not going to be here. Traditional White collar you know middle management upper management jobs they've been gone for years everyone's think of themselves as an independent contractor. Also if you're a millennial or was a gen z person there's going to be a massive transfer of wealth over the next 20 to 30 years as baby boomers simply die off and then you guys are going to inherit their money I live in any one of the g7 economies I just got to find your niece with your qualifications and get in there and innovate because there's not one g7 country that significantly doing better than anyone else another interesting part of the world is East Africa I'm retiring there in 5 years I've already done my homework I've already got partners I've already started to train up people there in East Africa Canada and those parts of the world they have East Africa's great basic infrastructure so now that they've got their first level base of infrastructure a second economy is built off at the service that basic infrastructure that basic infrastructure allows for that second layer a bigger layer of investment you know and that's where the real money is for mid-level investors and you know highly educated Young westerners have got 10 years into their respective careers and these are also very beautiful countries you know so you can if you got family in Canada family in Europe India Asia you know you can start building networks collaborate on projects you know in these you know emerging economies you know mid-level economies but that's you know a good 20-year grind to get good at your career and build your confidence to go into these places and get these things done also you know it's a great life adventure but never expect just because you have an advanced degree that the door even come knocking down your door to employ you if you're going to wait for the opportunity to come to you you're going to be waiting forever you got to take your advanced degrees get out there and hustle and work hard man Canada's doing fine about four or five years it's you know it's going to take off next level and it's going to boom for 40 years and it's never going to get any cheaper in g7 countries Amy's emerging economies his pockets around the world they're starting to come up to in the window to get into these emerging economies with your advanced degrees it's closing if you don't make it if you don't start looking at it in the next 5 years your degrees are going to be gone useless and if you do decide to put your career in these emerging economies like Asia South America Central America Africa do it for the right reasons not just for money we don't want to make the same mistakes as like the industrial Revolution where a few people get rich and the people in that country you know don't get anything have respect for these countries employ their people and you have to get into these places before all the big corporations get set up there cuz they're they're going there Canada's a great place as a great time free medical system and I urge anybody that's feeling down or depressed in Canada you know to go get some therapy join some clubs talk to people don't get down and mostly don't you know don't give up on yourself you guys made it through you know Elite post-secondary education system and if you can if you can do that I mean you can you can do anything a lot of hard work ahead truly best of luck to all you guys

It is a government inspired crisis this time. The Treasury have to sell Bonds to cover the trade imbalance and the government spending imbalance. In order to sell them they have to raise interest rates and the old long-term, low risk, low interest, AAA investments (including Treasury Bonds), held by the banks (often due to government regulatory policy), become next to worthless. It’s very sad and sick. What’s happening to people in Canada? It shouldn’t be happening they have to clean it up. I understand people fall in their lives but they gotta realize they need to not give up on life. That’s what happens now. With all the migrants they’re bringing in majority of them Are OK but they gotta bring in people that wanna work learn a trade and work for the lives. This should stop immigration for now.
