i think deporting them is gonna be too costly and cause a lot of tension with the us and other countries, not to mention cruel for the people who managed to build a life for themselves only to have it taken away, and also might cause a recession because of the millions of jobs they used to hold being vacant suddenly.\ni think it would be a much better cheaper diplomatic and realistic move for the use to use its massive and already existing and funded military to lock down the border at essentially no added cost, and strictly deport any one who slips through after that lock down, the immigrants who are already inside aren't gonna be a problem so long as they're the last ones who ever get through. thats what i want my country the uk to do, a lockdown so no more hopefuls can get in, because as much as all the immigrants in my country don't deserve to be here, i recognise how much pain it would cause them to be deported after so long in this country. and since they're already here i say no harm in letting them stay as long as no more come.

I believe that lack of health care in the U.S. stops many Canadians from even considering moving and working in the U.S. It may take longer to get medical care and treatment in Canada, but everyone is entitled to it. About 30 yrs ago we all paid into it, at our jobs. Not anymore. I believe employers may still be paying into it, but I think now it is just paid for with our taxes. So even people that do not work or are retired, each and every person is allowed it - if you live here.\nThere is also some Dental Care provided for some Children. Very recently,free Dental care is provided for people over 65. It is very new, so I do not know a lot about it yet. Also some drugs too are free for those over 65 too.\n\nPersonally I do not even want to visit the U.S because it seems like a very dangerous place.

Our Universities are heavily subsidized and Nurses and Doctors take advantage of this, If Trudeau/Pierre wants to stop our doctors and nurses who graduate going to the USA right after school, They should make them pay back the portion of their education that the taxpayers paid for and never received any healthcare from, It should be you have to work in Canada after graduating for 5 years before moving out of Canada, and if they do, then they pay around $150,000 to break the contract compounded with interest from when they started and finished university/college. I know someone who graduated Nursing in the 1990's, She went to a convention in Toronto, Where she was quickly swayed to move the USA, Its because Nursing here is a 3yr course in the USA its a 6 month course, they aren't educated nearly as much as Canadians, A Canadian nurse can be a GP in rural areas of the USA, Also the Nurse I know within a year was made head nurse of her ward, Bypassing USA Nurses that have been working at the hospital for 10+ years, due to the extra education, This is a big problem, we are educating Nurses and Doctors for the USA and other Nations funded by Taxpayers, Sure Nurses and Doctors do also pay some, but its closer to 1/3 of the actual cost, the other 2/3rd's is taxpayer funded. Thank you for summarizing these key changes! Many problems are actually the Canadian immigration system not learning from the mistakes of the US system and now it’s suffering the same consequences. If Canada cuts down on those selected immigrations but still takes in refugees, it’s only going to make anti-immigrant sentiment worse. Selected immigrants are allowed into Canada to help alleviate Canadian issues…or at least people who come through Express Entry are less likely to become a burden. On the other hand, refugees, given their unfortunate circumstances, really need to rely on a lot of social services and resources to help them resettle. The US has eliminated pretty much all non-humanitarian immigration that’s why immigrants are so demonized there. Americans only feel the drags of refugees and asylum seekers (even though ethically we need to protect them) and there is no selected immigration to balance that out. Yet this round of Canadian policy change is heading exactly that direction.\n\nIt used to be international students in Canada are not paying a lot more tuition than Canadian students. But Canadian universities saw how much money universities in the US are making so they asked the federal government to change the policy to enable them to charge international students several times the regular tuition (whereas in countries like France, international students actually pay less than citizens). So now Canadian universities rely too much on international students to operate and it becomes an exploitative relationship even before students step foot on the campus. The new PGWP eligibility is awful because students can make contributions in every field. It might (and that's a big if) address the pressing problems, but it won't help Canada grow.\n\nI thought the new language requirement was interesting. Some Canadians who immigrated decades ago when the bar was really low still speak English poorly and now they are saying people can’t come to Canada because their language skills are not sufficient. I was born in B.C. but moved to Ontario when I was a young child. I always wanted to go back, so finally I did in retirement, settling in Kelowna, in the Okanagan. It was paradise and I loved it there. However, my husband had to move into a nursing home this year, and I was forced to sell our house, deciding to move to Calgary, Alberta. So far I like Calgary a lot. I'm used to the snow, coming from Ontario, but I miss Kelowna like crazy. At least my husband is still there, and it's only a short flight for me to go and visit him.

There's a piece missing in the puzzle. Has anyone asked where's Mexico in all of this? everyone seems to forget that they're America's southern neighbor, and they're not helping with anything to mitigate the border crisis. Mexico has to be sanctioned, because they're not actively partaking in the protection of the shared border with the US, they're allowing immigrants to cross the border unchecked, sparing themselves the trouble of dealing with them. They're throwing the ball in America's court, making immigration America's problem. Since they share the border with America, they have an obligation to combat illegal immigrantion but they're not doing that. They want to get rid of their crimnals and the poverty in their country not by enforcing the law and trying to invest in their infrastructure to enhance the living standards of their people, instead they're encouraging them to move to America to find a better life. America doesn't have to pay the price of Mexico being a failed country. I'm also an immigrant, been in Canada for 16 years, came here initially for uni. It's funny that I have no negative feelings towards immigrants from any other countries but India. And I didn't have any negative feeling toward them before I came to Canada, if anything, I only remember something positive my grandma telling me about Indian people being beautiful, that they have big beautiful eyes. After I came to Canada, over the years, based on countless personal experiences dealing with them, sadly my conclusion is 99% of them are bad, 1% are the exception. They are aggressive, rude, stinky, unhygienic, dishonest, always trying to take financial advantage of people or situations to save a few more bucks by being super annoying or cheating, extremely disrespectful and aggressive towards women!! Really nothing is appealing about them. And at a job position, 1 Indian will bring 10 Indians, 10 will bring 100, they are slowly encroaching the environment and taking over everything. Other races try to assimilate into the local culture, while the Indians are imposing theirs onto the local and other cultures. Canada feels like it's turning into a second India. It's lost its politeness, manner, rules etc. I no longer want to live here, I plan to move back to my country after a few years. And I don't really go to Tim Hortons anymore cuz the Indians are taking over all the franchises and lowered the standards of Hygiene and friendliness. I don't think I'm being racist, cuz I'm not having all these negative feelings based on their skin colour or origin. It's purely based on real life experiences in dealing with them.

I love Americans. Although that's a general statement and just like Canada, there are jerks there just like here, for the most part I get along great with them. There are pros and cons to living in Canada and the U.S., For the most part, I believe Canada is the superior country. We have a superior healthcare system, superior banking system, superior snacks, and superior safety. However, Trudeau is killing that. He's destroyed our country to the point that one more term, and it may well be expedient to move to the USA. He's destroying our economy, our values, our culture. We have the resources to top the USA in every way, but we've never had leadership to make that happen. The U.S. has a superior economy, retail, and military. Although some may argue that the USA has superior freedoms, I'm not sure I agree with that. I know I don't feel freer when I travel there. I will definitely travel to the U.S. again. I have lots of friends there who I love and would love to see. However, it will take more Trudeau for me to want to move there. Went on a work lunch with a Hindu (born in Canada) coworker and was surprised to see him actually eat steak! He mentioned that the first time he tried beef was when moved out of his parents house.
