U.S. here....first, I and most Americans stand with Canada and Ukraine. Second, yes tRUMP made a dumb mistake. But everyone must realize that he really isn't very smart. His own cabinet members from his first term have said so. He doesn't understand things and he doesn't read. I feel pretty sure that his daddy paid for him to get into business school and paid for his degree, just as he paid a doctor to say he had bone spurs. He just isn't very bright. I think his business failings show the same thing. Whatever Canada and Mexico feel they have to do to stand up to this dictator wanna-be, so be it. I hope the MAGAt supporters here get a hard wake up call....I can't have sympathy for them.

Canada has always been crucial for US's economy and vice-versa. Only suffering and loss will come out of all this. At least Canada has Europe, Australia, and Most Asian countries. Trump has Putin and the fat tyrant from N. Korea

Americans should travel to Canada to boost tourism there. Spring is a wonderful time. Canada must be visa free country for Americans who want to move there!

10/10 Logically summarized - Trump is wacking friends & appeasing enemies. He wants to resume trade with Russia whilst apparently deteriorating trade with allies such as Canada & Europe.

Canada has known for decades that we have put too many eggs in one basket - selling our resources primarily to the USA. We've had tariffs before and worked with them. Yet we still keep selling to the USA. This time is different. In conjunction with the tariffs, we have an American administration that is flat out insulting Canada. Saying we wouldn't exist economically if it wasn't for the USA. It's at a time when the USA won't promise not to use military force to annex land (Greenland) from a decades old ally. A time when clearly Putin is calling in his chips for whatever he has over Donald Trump. Canadians have had enough. We are directing our governments, provincial and federal, to finally, finally break from the north-south trade links. We need to establish stronger east-west trade links. The resources we have are wanted by many countries if the USA does not want them. It does mean much work within Canada. We need to get our AB-BC pipeline finished as well as the new sea terminal so we can ship our crude oil and natural gas to Japan and if need be, to China. We finally need to get out pipeline to the Atlantic coast finished so we can supply the UK and EU with our products. We need to double our rail capacity for shipping potash, uranium, rare minerals to Asia or Europe. Just as Trump hopes for a golden age of American companies coming home and building new plants in the USA, this will be a golden decade for Canada to create transportation corridors to get our resources to other buyers. America will have to look elsewhere for his raw materials. And we all know what that is - RUSSIA. They've already offered their rare minerals and crude oil. This is all clearly a well thought out scenario from the people working behind Trump to dismiss America's allies and trading partners - have us turn against the USA - as the excuse to open the door to Russian imports into the USA.

I am not a Trump supporter of Trump and di not vote for him. However, I have point blank question to PM Trudeau. Why Canada is reluctant to call Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu? This is called double standard.

Gen. Wesley Clark is somebody that, i have respected for over thirty years. Even Gen. Clark has expressed his displeasure over the way the Trump administration has threatened Canada with unfair tarrif's, on US'S closest ally and neighbour. It is obvious that Putin is manipulating Trump so as to isolate the US from its traditional friends and alies, as US credibility will decline internationally. Just curious, currently (before Trump's Tariffs) how much TARIFFS does Canada pay for American goods and how much TARRIFS does America pay for Canadian goods? If Trump is increasing TARIFFS more than Canada, then that's sad.
