They need to put a 100% tariff on all Tesla products, all products from Kentucky, Tennessee, floridumb, texass, and every other red state. They voted for this, it's what they wanted, so make it hurt hard.

As a European having lived in both Canada and the United States for prolonged times, my view is this: Canadians are basically the same as Americans but with Health Care. They have a common heritage and history and this is like a brother turning evil and hurting its siblings. Trump is smart? It seems sad that it took an action such as the one the US government had to do, to make Canada realize that we should work together as provinces and as people. Canada knew very well that our big brother in the south has been fiscally hurting since years and had been racking up enormous government, corporate and private citizen debt. If this were to continue it would pull down every single country in the world. Perhaps if the US is becoming fiscally responsible, truly eliminate fraudulent and unnecessary spending and refocus on their local economy (just like China has been doing in the last years) the rest of the world and even Canada can finally focus on their strength and local markets. After all, don't we all miss our local stores, local artisans, vibrant neighborhoods with diverse businesses and a pride in having made in our own country? May I say that this Trump era will give the whole planet a new perspective for changing our ways, reliance on others and taking the easy and greedy road!

Let us not forget, that there is also a boycott of travel to the United States which means there are billions of dollars that will not be spent on travel, on accommodation, on the purchase of goods while in the States because there is no longer vacation or travel being done by Canada. It is said that if America imposes a tarrif on Canada, then Americans will pay more for Canadian goods. Possibly electricity too. Now, if Canada mirrors the actions of the US, then Canadians will have to pay more for American goods. So we are all just hurting ourselves in a way. Don't you love modern leadership? For anyone who is curious about how our politics make everything worse for us federally, let me explain it in a short time.\n\nTrudeau as of the day of this video, March 3, 2025, is STILL the PM. He said he WOULD resign once a new leader was picked through a democratic process. Right now, he's basically just doing photo ops in Ukraine, UK and anywhere else on our dime because Parliament is prorogued and the party in power, Liberal, is having a leadership race. So, while he may resign within the week once that leadership race is done, he's still technically in charge.\n\nWhat makes that race and the PM's prorogation so bad is that we're in the middle of a crisis - several actually - caused in part directly by Trudeau and his Liberals (and the NDP supporting them). The latest would be Trump's tariffs starting today, March 4, 2025. Trudeau always disappears during a crisis, leaving us to fend for ourselves - (1) COVID, he was at the cottage using every excuse not to be accountable for anything or using unconstitutional powers to crush a protest he didn't know how to handle, (2) Chinese spies, he's ignoring our intelligence service, (3) federal worker strike, he's in NYC at some gala.... Retaliation tariffs. That's a ridiculous idea. You don't win a tariff war when you're the country that has a trade surplus. In 2023, Canada imported approximately $431.2 billion worth of goods from the United States, while the United States imported approximately $354.3 billion worth of goods from Canada. That's going to hurt Canada a whole lot more than it'll hurt us.

The reality of the situation is that while Canada’s retaliatory tariffs will hurt the US a little, Trump’s tariffs hurt Canada a lot! Right now we’re in a moment where Canadian politicians of all stripes need to placate the public’s demand for retaliation, however no matter who the next PM is, they will quickly and quietly be working to undo whatever factors led to this situation. That will mean acquiescing to Trump’s border demands among other concessions. One would be forgiven for thinking Trudeau should have just gone along with them in the first place and spared Canada the pain.
