It’s crazy the way people forget that Canada doesn’t end at the end of Quebec. I hate to break it to you, but there are still affordable places to live in this country, They’re just mostly not in the urban centres of Ontario, Quebec, BC or Alberta. If you actually choose to acknowledge the existence of the other six provinces, you can have a pretty good life in this country! with that being said, I also have a good friend who’s making $100k a year fresh out of university in downtown Calgary. Everyone saying salaries are too low, there are no opportunities in this country, I’m curious to know what opportunities we’ve actually lost? Just because they aren’t being afforded to you doesn’t mean they don’t exist, maybe this should spur some self-reflection. You do have to work hard to succeed after all! \n\nLife is hard, always has been. If you actually talk to your parents instead of trusting what others on the internet say, who also weren’t alive during that time, you might realize that things really aren’t that different now. Despite what the internet will tell you, a minimum wage job was not enough to afford a house and a car 40 years ago. Shockingly, a minimum wage job doesn’t pay enough to get you a house and a car now either! Crazy how that works

It’s not just housing and health care. Every aspect of life is in crisis. It is okay if one has a government job else it’s challenging to survive in job market and we are competing with so many students. If you don’t have credit you don’t have a credit rating you’re a bad person. There’s something fundamentally wrong with this. I moved to Canada as a child with my parents 41 years ago. It isn't just inflation and cost of living that is the problem. It's the dramatically increasing racism and discrimination, even against people who have been living in this country longer than the racists discriminating against them. Seriously? This is not the Canada that I came to as a child, grew up in, or have lived and worked in for many decades. I made the mistake of working around the world for a short time and picking up an accent that wasn't even mine originally. I had a Canadian accent before finishing elementary school. To come back to be asked to go home or 'we don't want your sort here' is not just simple racism, but hatred that makes me regret ever having agreed to taking on Canadian citizenship. My kids and grandchildren have Canadian accents and were Canadians from birth. But should they leave and return to the same crap??? What disgusts me more is that the PM dares to include immigrants with refugees, under the banner that 30% of the population are immigrants. Under the law, refugees are temporary migrants and usually nothing more. To bundle immigrants who came to Canada through legal means of applications, brought hundreds of millions dollars into Canada with them of their own hard-earned money from their own countries, to have it taxed out of them, and their families deliberately put into poverty so Canada can fulfil its 19th century-PM Macdonald immigration policy of, and I quote from a Canadian federal government website, quoting PM Macdonald directly, about breeding out the Indigeneous people, is beyond sick! The refugees get a free ride at the expense of hard-working Canadians, 90% of whom came from immigrant stock! What happens when Trudeau says these deceitful lies about legal immigrants is that the racism and discrimination increases dramatically. I have been left in agony in hospital due to evil racist Canadians who thought that my accent meant that I had just flown in yesterday and what right did I have to be there? Police refused to charge a neighbor whose son was threatening the life of my grandchild because the neighbor works for the CRA! Other people have the same complaints. Democracy? I have been honored to have known, still know, and will know in the future, many good, hard-working, caring and decent Canadians, but Mr. Trudeau, can you explain to me, how many of those were actually of immigrant stock and how many have forgotten where their families came from? Canada used to be a good country, but when a person has to keep explaining where they got their job experience from and if they have any Canadian experience for every time that they look for a job in their lifetime in Canada, something is very wrong with Canada. Most jobs in Canada are blue collar and very few are white collar, yet Canada still continues to deceive the world into believing otherwise. Canada is a great vast and beautiful land, but only a small percentage of it has any infrastructure, roads, or homes sufficient to house what is a decreasing fraction of society. Refugees take preference over immigrants and citizens alike. The lie about the homeless is getting bigger. Most homeless Canadians today are veterans, elderly, disabled, mentally ill, poor, and professionals and trades people, yet Canada brings in countless professionals, claiming that their education and experience will get them into the professions that they are coming from. It's all a scam! Canadian education is not the best and yet people with better educations and job experience are being forced to spend all their money to go back to university or college to get jobs that they rarely will be hired for. Canada is not short of doctors, just short of professionals who hire professionals without using discrimination, hatred and racism for their HR kit! Many taxi drivers are doctors, engineers, and so on. So, please stop lying to the world and tell the truth. And no doubt this entry will be taken down because it offends a Canadian who doesn't want the world to know the truth.

TLDR; I am an person from a wartorn, oppressive country, and I unfortunately do not have many options to choose from other than Canada to have a chance for a better life.\n\nLet me tell you from the perspective of a person whose dream is to come to Canada: I know all this already, I know things are going terribly and the cost of living has gone up significantly. But the unfortunate thing is, the country I am from, is currently in turmoil. I do not fit in there as a person and hate the culture. Its incredibly corrupt with no growth. I am more western, and open minded, and my original country is a strict Islamic country. I do not fit there at all.\n\nI know Canada has all these problems, but its my only choice for a better future, I dont want to go to US because I dont wanna die, also, EU wont accept me unless I am from EU myself or speak their language which is a catch 22. Australia is also becoming a shithole. That leaves Canada and NZ. NZ doesnt have that good of job prospects and limited scope and I love Canada, always have. The weather and everything that comes with it.\n\nYes its not perfect, but I think its more about knowing that I can go back to a place, that is not dangerous for me and my future family, where I will get good care if I am stable job wise. Once I am in Canada, I will probably buy my own land and use that to have a trailer home there since they are still cheap, save my money, and probably retire in Philippines. \n\nI dont believe everyone else should do that and yes I know trailer's costs depreciates with time, unlike a house, but I dont care about that. I dont think of houses as investment and I never will nor I will participate in that practice. Everyone has a right for home.

I live in Nova Scotia and most of our population is practically now Indian population it was never like that say 8 years ago,im fine with anyone from any country living here for sure but it must not be bad for them because they have moved here in droves,practically every business is filled with indians all working in them and including where i work,ill tell ya there dedicated workers and work hard and i get it they need the hours to get there Canadian citizenship?So is there a long time perk of being indian and moving to Canada,Nova Scotia perhaps that i dont know about?Because us Canadians that have lived here all there lives are definitely not getting any perks or barebones living for godsake.

Getting ill causing a month long stay in the ICU left me homeless as living paycheck to paycheck causes once the cheques stop , I was placed in a Toronto homeless shelter 3 years ago and I can tell you that African refugees enter a shelter and no more than 3 weeks later are housed usually 5 at a time all Getting a fully paid market value 1 bedroom apartment average price $2,600 monthly that with a monthly welfare cheque and free food dental medical prescriptions clothing WIN WIN WIN the Canadian born homeless shelter residents get put on a 38,000 name waiting list for Ontario's drug infested housing ghettos the Africans are being housed under a kept secret program called COHB secret from us Canadian homeless that is and I've witnessed this now at 5 different shelters I've been in, having befriended one of the African migrants who is a little unstable drinking alcohol and smoking pot so he hasn't been housed but he has shown me the paper work that has been housing his fellow illegal immigrants and I say illegal because they all came as visitors only to claim asylum as soon as they land he also told me they all borrow the money for their plane tickets from a gang who once they land and start instantly getting welfare have to send half the proceeds back to this gang in Africa for the next two years , in this shelter donated clothing comes in everyday and two African shelter residents fold and sort the clothing taking all the name brand clothes what they didn't hand out to the other Africans they walk to the post office and ship it back to Africa I'm not making this shit up after we complained to staff which also happen to be made up from the Africans themselves yes they've hired wolves to watch over the other wolves so they now aren't walking out the front door everyday with garbage bags full of clothes at least not in front of our eyes DON'T CALL ME RACIST I know that's the go to word when this insanity is made public , what do you think is the first thing these Africans do when they walk into their free apartment? Canada cannot make its own money. So what does it do? It has to figure out unethical ways to bring in money. This is done by bringing in immigrants. There is multiple birds with one Stone hit here. Meaning gives immigrants the lie of a better life. So they take all their money that they have in their nation. And they bring it here. That's free money that Canada did not have to work for and now other nations have lost. then they lied to them and tell them that they can get anything they want. For me to get a franchise here while owning other businesses was IMPOSSIBLE 5 yrs ago. But these guys with no credentials are getting it right away. I wasn't allowed to modify my house or rent by law. And they are now allowing all of that. My mother had an international driver's license from France and she had to go through hoops to get her licence here. They are handing things over with no screening to these people which is cause instability and chaos. No structure. They let them bring their huge money here and put into franchises with no credentials. Bank loans free approval no questions asked. Meanwhile, most of those franchises will never make any money. Then they will take that money also, and put it into homes. Rent etc, and this is the part where they basically drain the immigrant money in an instant and put it into Canada economy. Now that you have all these immigrants buying all these businesses. Now you need slave work, so you start Bringing it more immigrants to work those slave jobs. Because in the 1990s, all the way up to 2010. You were encouraging Education. During that time Education was the money Maker. So you kept pushing that. Billions went to universities. Telling people that they'll have a better future. That was the lie of that time. Now you want the same people to work min wage jobs. Now immigration is a bigger Money maker. They say they're bringing in these guys Because they want to work these jobs that a canadians don't want to work. That's because you just made those fake jobs by creating more immigrants to come here have franchises that need minimum wage jobs. But you also promised the rest of us that if we worked hard enough, we will get better jobs. So why would we want to resort to minimum wage jobs on top of you ruining the market for housing inflation taxes etc? How could we even afford while working Minimum wage jobs. First of all you took 3 years to do this extremely limited investigation that doesn't even begin scratch the surface. Your interviews are selective and show only a certain problems. If you truly investigated, you would have looked at government programs at ALL LEVELS of government. The rules and restrictions that are applied like, healthcare, CPP, Disabilities both mental and physical, welfare, and the host of other programs that for most part create and maintain poverty and are nothing more that government fraud and covered up at all government levels. As a one time homeless and then advocate for homelessness, I can tell you first hand that money destined for these programs is often gobbled up by faux do goods who actually pocket this funds for themselves.

I am permanent resident and I tell you they would rather hired immigrant that don’t speak up when they get mistreat than a Canadian who knew their right. Canada by itself is very WELCOMING, the problem is that you dive into the trap, there only ONE way to do this right, GIVE TO ALL IMMIGRANTS TIME BUFFER, like 1-2 year, don't destroy them from the start, it`s like I call friends to my home, I will say hey please feel free like in your house, but then ill throw them dirt to a face and ask them hey please be clean in my house go find place where to wash up and don't use my towel. I'm one of them.\n\nI landed in October of 2022 as a skilled immigrant, and stayed for a month before returning home to finish off some work commitments.\n\nI haven't returned since, and I don't think I will. I have a decent house, good career prospects/business opportunities back home, and I can take a vacation abroad or travel domestically for fairly cheap multiple times a year. \n\nFree/subsidised government healthcare isn't the best (not the worst either) but we also have private hospitals/clinics that are relatively affordable and fairly quick to access. \n\nFurthermore many other immigrants I know living there are telling me that they are planning on leaving as well.\n\nThe cost of living in major Canadian cities is no joke. I feel for the people born there who don't have other options.

International students promised that they got enough money to pay for their tuition fees and accommodation before getting university offer letter. It is funny they can work 40 hours just like the full time workers. Why did they tell that they got sufficient money to the University and Immigration and they wil focus on their study only till their study is completed? Well. There are thousands of permanent residents from Canada who got stranded around the world in the pandemic. The travel restrictions Canada put in place for permanent residents are far out of line. I was at the airport the last week before airports got closed. I had even my return ticket printed out, checked online in. At the airport, I was told, with some other PR’s that as a PR we were not allowed to board the plane! Seriously? What country does this? For myself, I couldn’t return to Canada for 1.5 years! Panic in the first couple of weeks. Calling the Canadian embassy every week. Even asking if Canada had a way to extend the Permanent residency visa at the embassy available. No. If you are longer than 2 years away from Canada, you CANNOT RENEW YOUR PERMANENT RESIDENCY CARD! Well. Lucky me, I didn’t had to work. After 14 years of working and living in Canada, I just had enough from a country that is telling none Canadians that we are people of 2nd class. And no. I am not from India. I’m from Germany and we cannot have a 2nd passport like other countries. I just got rid of everything in Canada. I stayed in Panama. Renewed last year my German passport. Got a “lifetime” residency visa in Panama. Don’t have to be worried about heating costs anymore. It is warm year around. Maybe it was a good thing that Canada gave me the “2nd class human” feeling. That’s when you figure out in times of emergency what countries do for immigrants. Canada was one of a handful countries in the pandemic who blocked permanent residence card owners from returning!

You should tell us how many Indian immigrants actually went back to India . Not many . I have seen 20% interest rate here and you think 5% interest rate is high . Indian community is the richest immigrant community in North America . People move to United States and move back to Canada which is normal . 17.5% left Canada but 82.5% are still here , what does that tell you ? There is housing shortage and that will be solved in time . A lot of these problems are caused due to covid shutdown and excessive immigrants coming from India . Question should be asked why so many leaving India ? In 2021 and 2022 , about 900000 Indian immigrants came to Canada and 2023 will likely be close to half a million . We Indian may not like cold weather but we are very comfortable in inside house . So far this year I only had to shovel snow twice and not for months . There is no shortage of job opportunities but One need to be flexible of courier . Canada still tops in most standards and consistently in top 10 among all countries of the world .

I was just forced by my husband to come here in 2010. I never plan to live abroad but I went for the sake of the kids and dont want regret. My husband is mentally ill even before we got married(family took advantage of me when they saw I was an independent widow that time). Upon arriving here, nothing was prepared,no beds no nothing just the social housing and he was already orienting me to get food from food bank and simply convinced me to follow here for the child benefits,free education and healthcare. Let me just mention, the family of my husband is claiming they were rich and prominent in the Philippines. Fast forward....14 years after, he didnt get a house for us....I just ran after him for child support....he didnt finish the divorce process that I ask him to do upon arrival....now, that its time for him to pay tution fee for college, he is mad! He is so desperate that he brainwashed one of his sons to blame me and make me feel like the whole thing is my fault! My son almost killed me last time bec his dad getting sympathy and ranting that he has no money. This is the biggest regret of my life......I believe if my sons are educated and grew up in the Philippines, they are more happy and was able to tap all their talents and intelligence. I am done here! And for people telling me that the money we earn here we dont get in the Philippines....sorry, my peace of mind and dignity has no price tag. I am not materialistic too. Respect to humanity is all we need!

Who on Earth would want to live here? We are such a depressing and failing culture and society. We have placed ourselves in a situation where nothing properly can grow here. Canada will get far more depressing over the next decades. I tell people all the time don't come here, you'll pay more than money for coming here. And I tell people, who are able, to leave. Find a better place to call home. Canada can't be home to people. Not with how we are easily dislodged, displaced and how everything around us is on fire and burning down. \n\nDon't come to Canada unless you're suicidal and want to die, or you happen to be super rich and you can make it. \n\nCanada will be losing many many Canadians in the future. Whether it's people leaving the country, whether it's people returning to their old countries, or whether it's people killing themselves off desperately trying to find solutions to problems. \n\nPlease don't come here people. \n\nCanada is a horrible place to live. And if I could leave here, I would. But alas I'm a very poor Canadian. So that leaves me with options of suicide later in life, at least Canada is getting programs together for that and the options become more accessible every passing year. If we are going to make a country filled with shit, we at least need to give options to people to leave instead of holding them to a slave system that goes nowhere.

Canada has become so corrupt. It's also known Canada has become a haven for money laundering and all kinds of schemes like that. These colleges have turned into diploma mills. Their diplomas have no real value anymore. They are churned out solely because of money and it's flooding the market as well. \nHow is this allowed? \nCan you imagine how many Canadian Citizens are DYING because they have to fight against millions of new International students and new coming immigrants each year for a hospital spot.\nWait times at ER as exploded. Tons of new cases where Canadians died waiting for emergency help. This is criminal. \n\nThis is also very bad for the long term Indians that came to Canada many years ago and their kids born in Canada. They are starting to get stigmatized because all Canadians see is insane amount of Indians that barely speak English (that would be the immigrants not the students) and with a housing crisis and it affects Canadians. I have a friend living outside Hamilton, her husband died not being able to see the specialists he needed in a timely fashion. Her Daughter had a life threatening disease, she lived close enough to NY to take her daughter there for treatment that saved her life. She’ll tell you straight to your face that Thank God for US Doctors!!! Or her daughter would be dead as well.

When you are there please inform all muslims, especially the ones who are thinking to emigrate to any western country, that they should stay where they are. It will also be a very good thing if you can persuade other muslim in west to move back to their respective country. May I suggest one of the MENA countries. They are very religous there and you wouldn't be harassed by any Christins, jews , hindus or other religions. They simply don't exist there. You don't have to bother about elections and other western nonsens. Just pray 5 times a day and on Friday ,go to the mosque and the iman will tell you everthing you need to know.

Some times i watch videos on differents experiences others migrants experiencing here Canada and we re on same boat. That s why i also made choice to move out in Colombia on the beach for my retirement.Then im here giving some advise. As immigrant myself, African from Gabon, we experiencing same realities of the West since 10 years now. At some point, i can say there s something broken in this country since last 6-8 years. As you making decision to leave Canada on the reasons you expressed, it is very important for you not be wrong chosing the wrong place again. You need to think about it seriously. Straight, can tell you 100% United states is worse than Canada as Muslim family to live in. You need to read all suggestions given in this Video. As a lot people suggested you in the comments, i totally agree with em that Malaysia, is the Top one based of the reasons you explained why you leaving Canada. Maybe Turkey and UAE as second choice. A big part..........at least here in Vancouver why the healthcare system is broken here is due to the ongoing opioid crisis. The downtown eastside where many of the homeless and drug addicts live is known as the vortex because it sucks in all 1st responders across the lower mainland. Yet when someone who lives somewhere else in the city needs an ambulance you are screwed. Last year I had to wait over 8 hours for an ambulance........I live less then 10 minutes away from the nearest hospital. Because I couldn't move I had to sit there while my roommate had to call 9-11 over a dozen times to get me an ambulance. Doctors are even telling people to take a cab to the hospital if they can walk, because it's faster. \n\nAnd even when I finally got to emergency I had to wait hours to get looked at. The doctor didn't see me for almost 6 hours while i'm lying there screaming in pain. And this was on a Tuesday night, not even a weekend.

You will probably come running back to Canada . Time will tell .

I left Canada in 1990 and in multiple times back visiting I saw the quality of life declining. But most there didn’t notice much like the frog in the pan of water you keep heating up. Now it’s apparent to everyone and yet Canadians are so deluded by their media they can’t figure it out and think everywhere is like there or worse. When I tell them they are living in a ?hole they don’t believe me. So it keeps getting worse.

I often feel so very isolated in myself in MY way of life here in Canada (which doesn’t happen to be as a Muslim). After all, we are the “cultural melting pot,” and so many people of different cultures have come here and tried to make a life work for them. Canada is seen as “a land of dreams” by many, but it depends on what our dreams are, for real. For instance, what were many immigrants hoping for when they fled Europe after World War II? This family is telling us what they dream for their family, and Canada is not a good fit for what they value.
