I don't think Trudeau and Trump feel the same way about each other as they did 7 years ago. Seven years ago was a different energy and now its a new energy between them. I'm pretty sure that the govt have done an immigration freeze before. Many applications were just halted and nothing happened for several months. This was a decade or so ago.\nBut yes if Stephen Harper was stupid enough to increase the immigration numbers then we know who to blame - the Conservatives!! \nSO DO NOT VOTE for the Conservatives. They just want money - Taxes. That is all. They will probably also increase the numbers again for more new taxes. \nRemember Conservatives = Trump. These people act like Trump. Greedy for Power and Money. This also means Doug Ford as well!! \nTrudeau should also have cut back these numbers ASAP during and after the Pandemic. Someone did not advise him very well at all. \nI do agree that Trudeau needs to do another freeze and not accept any new applications for at least 6 to 12 months, in order to process those applications already in the system.\nTrudeau then needs to severely cut the incoming numbers back to 200K like they used to be. And then keep it to that level!!

We have exactly the same problem here in the UK. Politicians talk tough on immigration but when they get in power and see the books, they open the borders.\n\nWhat do i mean by the books. Some people say come in legally, but he can't seek asylum just because he wanted to protect his family or want a better life for his children. It doesn't work that way. He has to have documentations or proof that his life or family's life is in DANGER. That is why he can't come in legally because he will not be approve on just those conditions, surprisingly even in Canada. Scare a bunch of people to go to Canada who may not have otherwise checked in in the US, only to deport them. Makes no sense if that court program in the US had a success rate of over 95% of people showing up to immigration court. I feel lucky to have been born where I've been born. Just imagine we heard this immigrant's sad story regarding just wanting a better life for his family.
