As an Indian myself, i highly respect the decision taken by the Canadian government since sooner or later this decision was gonna be made just like in Australia. These borders are opened to study further, and eligble people only should be considered to get permanent residency who would contribute the foreign land with good skills like Doctors, Engineers, and so forth, not just for menial jobs. For the sake of an easy citizenship, there is a huge trend to go Canada for Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis. They are not ready to upgrade their skills while studying abroad, and return home to contribute to thier own nations, while they just want to live there, yet still complain we face unemployment. Some of my nation students, unfortunately, don't even know how to speak English properly and pay a huge amount to their agents to go abroad. This is a good decision for them, but a sad decision for those who genuinely want to study in some good courses and wanna get into white-collered jobs.

When india can get its overpopulation and poverty problem under control, and migrate here without importing bad third world behaviors, then they'd have a better reception in Canada. \n \nThe blatant corruption and third world mindset that abounds in India is going to destroy Canada unless something is done to curtail it. \n \nBangladesh is less than a tenth of the land mass of Alberta and Bangladesh has 171 million people. \n \nYou cannot tell me that people who come from such conditions could ever understand or value what makes Canada different in terms of sanitation and prosperity when the experience of people in India and neighboring regions is so different. \n \nAll I ever hear from Indians is their lack of comprehension or value that lower populations has, in fact many of them have contempt for the fact that anglo westerners don't want to live in dirty and overcrowded conditions. \n \nImporting hundreds of thousands of people with that mindset is going to cause intractable problems with the host country, and you can cry racism all you want, but it doesn't change the fact that there are obvious incompatibilities between people of the overcrowded third world and first world nations.

Anyone want to talk about the environmental policies and regulations that prevent Canadians from taking advantage of their massive natural resources? Huge tracts of land are off limit to development due to environmental protection rules, there's minimal infrastructure investment (few roads, ports, etc.) outside of Toronto, and people wonder why there's a lack of affordable housing.

It appears that the huge increase of immigrants to Canada came at the expense of poor screening process by Immigration Canada. It is true that you can't demand higher education for people you expect to perform menial jobs, but no one wants these jobs especially in a country with such high living costs, and such poor outlook of social advancement. Every society on earth have a lower social segment of uneducated and poor individuals. Unfortunately a portion of these lower class Indians landed in Canada, and aren't contributing to their new country, or to India itself. As usual, they generally are single young males; a similar situation can be appreciated in Europe with Muslim and African individuals. I can't say how many times I've received calls or e-mails from scammers from India, Pakistan, Russia, Nigeria, and China. We, in the West as common citizens, are the targets of criminals around the world trying to exploit us. If landed immigrants aren't of any positive influence to Canada, they should be denied citizenship and expelled from the country.

When you try to change a country's culture, you find resistance. If you want India here, go back there. Don't turn Canada into the shithole India is. Stereotyping is always based in truth. Own the problem and fix it. Canada has always been receptive to Indians and Indians have always melded well, worked hard, bought land and businesses and have been excellent citizens. Now, we see tribal feuds in BC, illegally armed citizens, open violence and yes Brampton, the worst drivers in Canada. I have three new immigrant families as neighbors and all are polite, quiet people who just want to exists peacefully. Unfortunately, many new arrivals do no fit that mould. I am an Indian and I am disgusted to see what fellow Indians have done to Canada! They come here with their total lack of civic sense! I was born and raised in Calcutta as we navigated daily through filth and dirt on the streets - not only because of the poor on the street - but bec of everyone else who walks around and thinks nothing of throwing their garbage on the streets, spitting and blowing their noses on the streets and even in buildings - stairway landings, or peeing in the open - in public spaces or against building walls, etc.. Narcissistic, selfish drivers who cut people off, break the traffic rules, grab parking spots, etc.. They come here and make every effort to Indianize Canada - to make this into India instead of respecting this country that has generously and (ignorantly!!) allowed them in!! If they want to live their Indian culture in an 'Indian environment' - then for goodness sake - GO BACK TO INDIA and clean up that country your call your 'matri bhoomi' - your Mother!! The presenter is right - Indians (and Sri Lankans, Bangladeshis and Pakistanis too included here - all with the same mentality!) have dragged down the customer service experience in stores and restaurants. Indians are usually polite but they are not good at maintaining a high standard of customer service! Employees in Walmart, Costco, Tim Hortons (especially!), etc., are seen standing around, chatting with each other in their Indian languages instead of being professionally attentive to customers. The shopping experience is not pleasant like it was 25 years ago!! You said it yourself.......GRADUATES. They came here on student visas. They have NO right to expect to stay here. They came, they studied and now they need to go home. I am also looking. In canada there is unrganised land for sale. No buildng permits or no municipal taxes. A new trend is offgrid communuties. I see this as our future. Some comes with your own well on haf acre land. Ony fee is sharing small fee toward plowing road in winter. If you want it or do it yourself. Can be one hour near healthcare and groceries. I can go 3 months without needing shopping presently. You must love nature and homesteading on natural diet, some technical aptitude helpful for solar energy with fuel backup.

Lived in the US for 4 years and bought 5 rental properties in my home country. Now I'm retired at the age of 34. It was the best decision I have ever made. I am now building a business and want to expand to Canada for my actual retirement. Governments are lying to potential immigrants. I work with a guy who said he was told that his qualifications would be recognized when he landed and to not worry about anything. Upon arrival he applied for a job in his field and was told that his qualifications were not recognized. He was then told that he wold have to complete the equivalent of 4 years night school to receive accreditation. He wonders why he came but cant afford relocate back to his original home since it was sold and they used everything to come to a western country. He wasnt prepared for the cost of living and is now stuck in a country even he doesn't want to be in.

I left Germany after a year working.\nReason:\n15%- Even though i learnt german, but still faced discrimanation sometimes due to colour. Due to discrimanation outsiders can never go up the ladder. In the USA, You would see many Indians as CEO, but in Germany its impossible.\n25% - Work is too slow. Many people remain on leave/holiday. Not just my office, bank and other gov work are also very slow.\n20% - Too many immigrants. its no more germany. school has almost 80% non german.\n10% - Dependency on trains, and trains are often delayed. Getting driving licence takes lot of time.\n5% - Cold weather\n5% - High taxes (but we get some benefits)\n5% - People are very closed. I wanted to help and talk to neighbour, but they were so cold to interact.\n5% - Away from home, never felt like home.\n5%- Doctor appointment, sply for kids is nightmare. \n5%- Drugs, beer, smokers everywhere. No culture.\n\nOthers find difficulty in finding house, but i got easily.\nNow some positive:\n\n50% - Too much time for yourself. 1. German companies expect people to speak C1 Deutsch out of college. Which is not only unreasonable but also impossible unless a student only studied German and not their subject matter.\n2. The companies are still milking COVID and the war in Ukraine as excuses to not hire enough people while the pool of recent graduates is increasing. \n3. People with specialised degrees are unemployed. \n\nGermany doesn't need immigration for skilled labour. It needs to change it's corporate mindset and be more welcoming and understanding of the non-Germans. Sure people need to learn your language but that doesn't mean that they'll land here, eat currywurst and immidiately start speaking the local dialect. You've to be patient and give them time, which they simply don't want to give. \n\nAnd don't get me started on the meagre salary. It's insulting.
