The problem with here is also with Khalistan issue (of course not all Punjabis there want Khalistan and are absolutely chill people and people here in India, Punjabis, also don't want Khalistan, I have some close friends who are Sikh and are most Dildaar, Big-hearted, people I know). A lot of extremist groups which want, Khalistan ARE supported and protected by the Canadian government especially by Justin Trudeau and these people are committing nothing but violence and terrorism in the name of free speech. Indian government has issued many extradition requests, but the Trudeau government has done nothing about it and has protected these extremists. Over the years Indian government has warned Canadian government about this issue constantly and after years of housing these Canadian terrorists (because Canada calls them their citizens and protects them, what else can be the correct term for them and nothing like Khalistan exists) they've started to cause problems for the people already living there (like the terrorists Pakistan was housing are causing problems to them). They know they are not gonna get a Khalistan in India so where else are they gonna build it? Voila! Canada! This is the reason behind them not assimilating with the existing culture.Trudeau has even gone to lengths of calling Amit Shah (Home minister of India) and PM Modi (if you don't know what the heck are you doing here go study geopolitics a bit) unalivers of Hardeepsingh Nijjar WITHOUT any evidence (they just keep saying they have it but have shown nothing till now) and because of which Canada has worsened its relations with the Indian Government. They are even comparing India with the likes of North Korea in terms of threat. Indian Government in reply is giving Canada the same treatment it gives to Pakistan (a bit better of course, but the diplomacy has gone to sh it. And the reason why Trudeau is doing all this, yeah VOTES for sh itty domestic politics he's sacrificing long term GOOD relations with the Indian Government. Now, you may think that worsening relations with India is a good thing for Canada, yeah no, its not good because India has trade relations with Canada which may worsen due to this (yeah, great going for an economy which is already in shambles) and UK or US are not gonna do anything to India over Canada because India geopolitically has more significance than Canada (I'm not bragging, please don't misunderstand). This rant has gone to a very different tangent but yeah a lot of problems Canada is having is mainly due to their government. Any of Canadian friends (I have not reason to hate you) and Punjabi brothers/sisters (Yeah, unless you are some sh itty extremist you are a brother/sister to me) please don't take this offensively. I apologize to all the Canadians ??!!! Canada has always been a strong ally of the U.S. and a great friend!! Many Americans and Canadians have family together, dual citizenship, and travel and live back and forth in both countries. I am so sorry Trump is being awful to you.\n\nDecreasing the flow of illegal drugs and reducing fentanyl deaths in both countries would benefit Canada and the U.S. Both countries are close partners and I’m sure are already working to address this. I’m sure all Trump had to do was ask nicely and Canada would have handedly agreed to work with the U.S. amid redoubled efforts.

Mexico needs to close their southern border or pay the price, same goes for Canada and our northern border. Shut it down or pay up!

Honestly noone in their right mind would wanna stay in Canada...I use to think of Canada as a great beautiful country but then after visiting and seeing its a little India and that too very messy and unaffordable I realized mistake and came back..India is far more better than Canada cause whatver you make you can afrord a house or land and vacations too and all of that while living close to family \n\nOh also the healthcare is great in India cause in Canada you do pay high taxes for the so called FREE and still have no appointments for months so Canada is a bad place to live.

Everyone who is not successfully living a a temporary student but had a student permit should be deported. Regardless from where they come from. Canada is not for sale, these agencies should be closed and their owners penalized and payback the money taken, these expenses should come from their pockets not from tax payers who are sick of these errors.

Local here, born and raised in BC. As much as I love our country and history, I don't see myself being able to live here in the future. Real estate is the driving factor for the economy and with those housing/COL prices going up, I won't even be able to afford a split mortgage even if I had a steady 6 figure job. I don't want to leave Canada but I'm being indirectly forced to by the current Liberal government. Sure, our dollar was tanking before Trudeau enter power, but while he has been in power, it has barely changed and now is very close to reaching the same values we had in the Covid pandemic. Experts are estimating it to even go below that. It is not a good time to be a Canadian.

I’m glad… I’m from India… ok now there’s already so many scammers living inside Canada with PR and citizenship what about them…. My neighbour went to Canada in PR registering fake company… n getting fake experience certificates… there r so many Indian ppl who r loyal n trustworthy but u close doors for them… through company ppl come there with no efforts they claim 50 points n get score over 500… what about the students who really worked hard n been loyal n honest…. Two massive, now irreversible problems. \n\nForeign (Chinese) real estate acquisitions/treating homes in Canada strictly as investments. Case in point, thousands upon thousands of empty condos in greater Vancouver. Which equates to a shortage of housing for people that have lived here and paid taxes their entire life, as a Canadian. Foreign real estate speculation and land purchasing has not only been allowed, AND encouraged, new properties/condos are being marketed in China well before they are IN Vancouver! Now, it's too late to plug the leak. Thus, rampant homelessness. \n\nCompletely irresponsible immigration policy. Nobody in their right mind would deny that a multicultural country like Canada needs immigrants. Especially with the aging population. But as far as accommodating/housing these people, we're not even close to being on target. We are not only putting the horse ahead of the cart, the horse hasn't even been born yet!\n\nNeither situation will be fixed anytime soon.

The poor students who should not have been allowed in Canada in the first place. My heart goes out to them. They are the biggest losers in this situation. We shouldn’t be preparing for an influx we need to prepare to close our borders. No more asylum seekers into Canada. Our resources are for the people that pay for them not for those who come here to benefit from our better standard of living. Fix things back home and then immigrate through the proper channels. We don’t need tent cities full of asylum seekers. For those that want to let all those people in then they have to go sign up to take responsibility for them with consequences if they don’t. I would bet the lineup for that would be very short.

If they take the attitude that they will take the Palestinians today, the Lebanese tomorrow, the Iranians next week, and guess what all these empty lands with no people will become Israel. Now if you do the math they inject about 3.6 Billion dollars every year! Which makes International student one of the top 10 source of revenue for Canada! I do believe in immigration. Canada was built on immigrants and they are a huge part of Canadas identity. THat being said we need to have proper housing and infrastructure for the people we take in. To bring people into the country when we don't have jobs, housing, and overload the health care and other facilities is just bad decision making. I am against closing the doors forever but when we have room for more then we take more until that time we will have to reduce or shutdown the immigration flow.
