No surprise there, \n\nCanada is NOT attractive to migrants anymore due to multiple reasons.\n\nSoon a 1 bedroom apartment will probably cost 5000$/month for rent in the Major Cities making it impossible to settle here for newcomers.\n\nThe healthcare system has serious problems due to a lack of Doctors and Nurses who left for better paying jobs in US or Europe.\n\nIf you need immediate Specialist care you will probably have to pay hundreds of dollars just to see someone in the Private sector because the Public Health System has huge waiting lists and is understaffed.\n\nYou won’t be able to get a Government Family Doctor because the remaining ones have thousands of patients already so they’re swamped.\n\nYou can wait even 10 years for a Family Doctor and still won’t get one.\n\nYou can’t be bumped up on waiting lists for Doctors or Specialists even if you are in a critical condition because you aren’t a Celebrity / Politician / Millionaire.\n\nOnly those with a lot of money, status, power get immediate medical attention in case of an emergency.\n\nMost of the traditional medical costs like and eye exam, treating an ingrown toe nail, Physiatrie treatment are NOT covered by the Provinces anymore so you will have to pay out of pocket hundreds of dollars again.\n\nSome Provinces are already copying the US healthcare system which is 100% Private and for profit so don’t be surprised if you you’re gonna have to pay even for an infusion.\n\nThe minimum wage is only 15$/hour in most provinces when in reality you need at least 40$/hour to survive the ridiculous cost of living.\n\nYour typical salary will go 45% to taxes and 45% to rent leaving almost nothing for food / bills / gas / insurance etc. \n\nYou will struggle to make ends meet and possibly starve a week or two every month just to say that you’re “Canadian” \n\nThat is the sad reality but Canada is in a deep hole right now.\n\nUK is in a similar situation too.

This is not the same Canada, we came to, it has changed and believe me changed for worse. Every place is crowded still liberals say we need more immigrants. I want to ask them what incentives liberals are offering for new parents, on top of that planned inflation by government is making life of common Canadians bizarred. If someone protests then govt brings policies like SOGI123 to make sure every Canadian becomes gay or lesbian, they are inducing puberty blockers in young children to suppress natural growth. What future you expect when country in such stupid hands? There is no doubt why the citizenship application number went down, no wonder who wants to come and stay in uncertainty, May it social or political. Worse conditions for seniors whose pensions are not able to cope up with rising inflation… sad!

Speaking as someone living in South Vancouver, here are two rules I live by:\n\n1) Never leave your bike outside for extended periods of time. Especially closer to a downtown area because it will get stolen. If thieves can't get through your lock, they'll just strip the bike everything that isn't locked down. It's actually very common to see just a bike frame locked to something while missing every other part. \n\n2) Don't go to downtown Vancouver as it's drug city. It's the one downtown area in metro Vancouver that I say has zero redeeming factors. All the other neighbouring cities are nice, with Richmond in my opinion being the best of the bunch, but downtown Vancouver? It's the closest experience to Seattle in Canada that you'll find.

Many people who have commented with negative sentiments are not really aware how it's elsewhere especially in poor countries. If someone is looking a basic life, definitely you can manage a job , basic amenities and lot of safety. If someone is looking good quality life with decent savings , that's possible provided if he or she take additional degree and start working in intermediate roles regardless of the business. Having certain specific religious background could help since this society gives lot of importance to your religious background, whether you believe it or not. I am not saying society is intolerant but admin is highly biased. Income tax is there in almost all OECDs, if you are still not liking it , well, you know who to elect next time .

Lived here since 1966. It’s not “ Toronto the Good”. I’m lucky I got into the market in the 70s. I wouldn’t recommend moving here for all the reasons you say. Taxes are high, rents are high, crime and homelessness are high. Not a place I’d recommend for someone starting out to move here. I’ll stay here because I live in a lovely neighbourhood and know all my neighbours. It’s home.

I have visited the United States many, many MANY, MANY times over the years. I've loved every single visit. The people are warm and lovely....some of your scenery and historic things were more than a joy to behold Would I ever want to move there ? Not even for a second. In fact, sadly, my husband won't even go back for a visit anymore. This is sad to me, but I understand where he is coming from. \nWas sad to say good-bye to our dearest friends who moved to the US, because the job pay and promotion was impossible to say no to. They lasted 2 months and settled for less pay and no promotion to come back home. They found it so weird, that all the new friends they made, thought they were freaks because they didn't own guns. The final straw was when they learned these people were packing when they came to summer barbeques. That was the final straw, and they high-tailed it home. \nIn recent times, a country run by someone I see as a loose cannon, psychopath...makes it a most emphatic NO.

We had anther ridiculous unspoken rules, if your age is over 35years, especially for females, you almost ingores by the job market or public service opportuniies therefore totally unemployment rate is a huge number that the gov chose not to tell the public. I waitnessed my downstairs small busness owners opened a small resaurant and shut down just for running it for one month There's no support or any help for the g\nIt's real hard to survive in China as a Chinese If I go back to my hometown, I also face the truth that there's no job for me as English major. Watching your video as an ordinary people, it's difficult to immigrant to those English speaking big countries\nTo be honest to say, I try to tell myself relax and everything will be rightMy hair is losing and turns to gray each month need to die.....\nI just want to change the situation that I want to use my efforts to make a living

I’m trying hard to understand. I thought when someone goes to a different country to live they accept what that country is about. I’m sad to hear these people say they’re leaving because Canada has some elements that are offensive to them. I though Islam was about acceptance.

but to be honest guys, Muslim countries do the same or worse to non Muslims. In Saudi, every woman has to wear a hijab regardless of their religion. In my view Muslims seems a bit slefish and intolerant in that they want to be accommodated in other societies but non Muslim societies are not very accommodating. Says someone who stayed in a Muslim country. We were not allowed to have church meetings on campus.

Word of caution, in regards to climate , too hot is worse than too cold.....if you end up somewhere without air-conditioning , it is going to be much worse then having access to heating in winter.....been there , so I know :) Another comment, try to separate religion from politics,. If you were born in Canada, you might not be fully aware of the difference between democratic and non-democratic societies. Religion only is not enough to make you happy, and having two girls and willing to risk their rights, require at least a conversation with someone that knows more about it. I have my own experiences and it seems to me that you idealize societies in which these rights are non-existent . You are right, Canada has become a very different country than it was when I first got here, but is still far cry from where you are planning to go. Beware of things that people are not saying , and have your due diligence done for the sake of your children.

I'm using someone account. As male and business men in Canada since 1977 the problem is that British origin culture or its people, they want to turn anyone into slave. You ask for price and people say NO!!! Then they ask you> are you any good<? I mean, I done 250 homes in Vancouver BC and they still have doubts. In my case they started to block my incoming business calls, because people I know for 30 years and I met in person in restaurants or while shopping, they just complained to me saying> I wanted to give you contract and I needed your reasonable services and tell me> why you are not unswerving my incoming cell phone calls? I mean, I sit in Starbucks in good reception zone and having two of cellphones and there is nothing....Maybe the other providers will not want to cross connect phone call to a Fido?

But he seems to be saying that they screamed at him. So that may not be full story. You record someone on their worst moments and use it against them to build up a case? Thats reactive abuse. I think there's clearly more to the story

I think every immigrant is a seeker , I'm from India , people move to metro cities like Mumbai or delhi for better life , then they move further if they get better opportunities so some have made it to Canada or other countries what so ever ,if someone would say some bad points about the country then there would be some judging asking questions like if we don't like it here , why don't you come back .... What i think if a person gets opportunity and is seeking to grow for a job or anything must just keep seeking to the best place to settle.

American expat in Germany here. The tax/salary problem is the same here. \n\nEvery cool place has been overrun with people seeking to move there. I say this as someone doing exactly that, so please don’t think this is “anti immigrant” or anything like that; my spouse is an immigrant. The same thing has happened to cities where everyone from the home country tries to move there from the “uncool” suburbs. \n\nSlowly, then suddenly all at once, the affordable housing vanishes, any government appointment is impossible to get, jobs get scarce, and taxes go up. \n\nBig respect to immigrants, newcomers, and to weary, crowded, overtaxed locals alike. There is just no way to preserve any desirable place when x-million people move there.

As someone who emigrated here a decade ago, the biggest issue was the amount of time it took to see it pay off. Not recognizing prior professional experiences is a big downer! I had to relearn a few new skills over 4 years time just to get the words on the CV to say I was enough.

As someone from the US, here’s what I will say- you can find a small community or a community within a large city that will fit your needs if you look hard enough. HOWEVER, outside of that community, our larger government will never be the right fit for you, for the same reason you’ve “outgrown”Canada. “We” rarely invest in our own country and citizens, and always have “our” hands and money in other country’s affairs where they don’t belong and aren’t welcome. The government is unbelievably corrupt, out of touch, and is more focused on getting one side to hate the other side than actually making “no-brainer” steps that we all agree on to make things better for everyone. If you’re looking for a place to land for a little while I’d say a place with a Muslim community is fine, but long term your money won’t be going to places that aligns with your morals and values.

May Allah Subhaanahu Wa Taala protect you guys, may He make this hijra easy for you, may He grant you what you seek, may He make you and your chilren from the ones He loves, Aameen! I am from Pakistan and can't ever imagine leaving my country to go live in foreign lands. Alhamdullilah, I feel very safe here. It is a Muslim country, alhamdullilah, although there is a major class of citizen coming up here who'd like it to be more 'open minded' like the West. May Allah protect us from that day. I would suggest that you move to Saudi Arabia, preferably into or around Makkah or Madinah. I believe that these two are the best cities in the world for Muslims. Imagine saying your five daily prayers in Masjid-e-Haraam or Masjid-e-Nabawi! You kids could study there and grow up speaking and understanding Arabic like Arabs. Imagine the understanding and appreciation they'd have of the Quran and Hadith moreover, they'd be able to reap benefits from the work of all major scholars. InshaaAllah. BUT, on the other hand, you guys are Allah's workers there in Canada. You could do dawah, spread Allah's word (you're doing that beautifully already). You'd be doing what the messengers of Allah did. Think of it this way, if you leave, there'll be one less family supporting Palestine and the Islamic way of life in Canada. Maybe, Allah wants someone like you to represent Him there. Allahu Aalam. There's this beautiful piece of Urdu poetry by Syed Sadiq Hussain, it goes something like this ' Tundi-e-baad-e mukhalif se na ghabraa ae uqaab --- Yeh to chalti hai tujhay ooncha uranay ke liye!' translation:- Do not fear the strength of the head-winds (opposing wind) O' eagle -- it but blows only to help you soar higher! All I'm saying is that there's another way of looking at your dilemma. You guys are like a small, bright light in a dark night and can help lost travelers reach safety. Cheesy, I know. I was born and raised here, and at 40yo I would say that leaving has been on my mind for the past 5+ years and will be the likely scenario for me once my grandparents are no longer around. If it weren't for them, I would have left years ago. The two primary drivers for me are job opportunities and the government. One thing I will correct is the wages you presented. The vast majority of Canadians, regardless of whether they were born here or not, do NOT make 6 figures and even the high 5 figures is not as common as people like to think. I have been turned down for work because of being over-qualified more times than not and now struggle on less than 50K/yr with 2 jobs. Just trying to get a part time gig to supplement is a problem despite my decades of experience. As someone who is single, one income just does not cut it here no matter how frugal or minimalist your life is. I can't imagine what its like for those with families. Plain and simple, this country, like many, is failing.

Toronto resident here. Cost of living has become more expensive. I share an apartment with my someone and we are paying about $3,000 per month with few amenities. It requires both our incomes to be able to afford to live here and we're just getting by. I have lived in the core of the city since 2005 but was born and raised in the GTA and have never lived anywhere else. Since about 2015, costs have gone way up and now they are just plain unaffordable. I live close to Sherbourne and Queen and while I see a lot of homelessness, I do not really see much violence. The area south of Queen is much more gentrified and I am never walking in fear, no matter what time of day or night. The Transit system has been under construction for over a decade and it just doesn't seem to end. More and more historic buildings are being converted to condos and I see tons of construction everywhere. Traffic has become nightmarish with too many cars and not enough roads. We are considering a move to Montreal because of the rental costs are about $1000 per month lower, though neither of us is francophone. I am not sure how the powers that be will be addressing the housing crisis moving forward. It's a huge challenge and I may not be around to see the outcome. Having said this, it's going to be really tough to say goodbye to this city.

The thing I will say about housing as someone who lives in Manitoba— housing in Canada is not all built equal. 1 million dollars is a standard house in Ontario, but pretty damn nice if you live in Manitoba, especially if outside of Winnipeg. I find the misinformation when comparing our ( Canadian) heath care system to yours is is huge. Firstly there is NO copay-NONE for anything. Secondly there is NO limit on cost of surgery or treatments-NONE. Sometimes there are new drugs that are very expensive and not yet covered but that is it. I have lived in the US for the winter for he past 13 years and the concept of no copay with our system just seems to be beyond their grasp. For the life of me I cannot understand why the US citizens do not want universal health care like ALL of the rest of the developed nations of the world. When someone says they have health care in the US that all comes with possibly thousands in copay fees.

Heard on average it cost around $25000 just to have a child in the US. NO thank you going into debt just to have a kid. Here in Canada free no matter what. Also rather be free then availability.
