Please don't lump the rest of the state in with those in NYC who keep voting for this insanity. The CITY voted for Cuomo and then Hochul, the rest of the state did not, but the rest of the state is so rural that the population of the city outvote the entirety of the rest of the state. That's why they pushed so hard for their sanctuary policies and providing IDs to illegal immigrants and allowing them to vote. This guarantees they keep getting reelected and increases over all state population which is used to determine how many congressional seats a state has and how many electoral votes, so more people would mean more political power.

We simply can't have the gov't itself bringing in 1M+ illegal immigrants per year, distribute them to cities across the US and provide a plethora of monetary resources to support them. That doesn't even account for everyone who was entrring the US illegally themselves!

Decriminalizing hard drugs has lead to a rise in homelessness, overdoses, and theft/prostitution to make money to support those habits. These conditions also leave populations susceptible to outbreaks of disease that US healthcare is ill-equipped to deal with. Unregulated immigration results in gangs taking control of both the illegal immigrants and the communities they settle in. Trafficked immigrants are forced to work for the gangs or their families back in their home countries will be harmed. Because of sanctuary cities, law enforcement can't go after the gangs so the other illegal immigrants have no recourse.\n\nTLDR: Regulated, legal immigration creates opportunities for both immigrants and the host country.
