You’ve been in an English speaking country for awhile. So why do you need to communicate via Spanish? You should’ve learned the language by now. Very well done! In Canada we are not really patriotic, we love being canadian but we ca speak more freely against it then in the US. We are more free in general because of the global safety. The culture is not only related to money. And lastly we are more aware or interested in the rest of the world. That being sais the last 4 years had destroyed the american brand, so I hope that Canadian way of living will rub off on the US so it would create a more stable and better world.

Correction: Canada uses European floor scheme more than us. Cricket and Rugby are more popular in Canada than USA though rugby is more popular than cricket in Canada. Also their accent is a mix of American and British like Australian English but the rhoticity is one of the similarities to US English. Also Aluminium and ise spelling is acceptable in Canada

French Canadians are native people of Canada and not just recent immigrants. French Canadians, especially Québécois, are a part of Canadian culture but their culture is also very different. Its the same situation with African Americans in the US.

I think a difference that is not often enough scrutinized is how radically different the population distribution is. Most canadians live in large cities like the greater areas of Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver and Calgary that make much over 50% of the population, Whereas the vast majority of Americans live in medium cities, Canada is all about very large cities and small ones; and its culture is also driven by that. There is no equivalent of christian small town culture here on the scale that it exists in the US.

Ah...a LOT of Canadian dudes leave their family for weeks, even months to make money up North! Why is this made to seem so horrible and dramatic...Like, it cost us 15, 000 dollars ourselves to move to Sacramento with my husband's job with the Hard Rock Cafe Corp....we were living at the poverty line there...my husband was never home...my Visa was cancelled after 911. Gratefully, I was able to just boot it back home to Canada I detested living in the U. S , and only went along to support my American born husband, anyway. I’m a dual citizen of US and Canada. For me a big cultural difference is that Americans are raised thinking they’re the greatest country in the world and Canadians take pride in being peacekeepers and our multicultural mosaic (rather than melting pot).

US Americans moving into Canada and bringing racism with them? Where did this 'Canada is a happy, respectful and welcoming country' stereotype came from? I've seen a lot of racists videos from this country...Canadians are just like US Americans but in a passive agressive way.

Okay. A lot of people here have no clue how the immigration system works both in the US and in Canada. “He should just have come here legally”. Well, most of the time a legal path to emigrating to the US/Canada just does not exist, and its getting more and more impossible to be granted asylum. In the US you can’t just apply for a work visa, you can’t just apply for a green card. You got to be eligible to apply for it. For a work visa you need a job offer first, you need proof of income and most of the time the employer will have to prove they couldn’t find an American to take the position. To get a green card you either have to get married to an American, invest at least $500,000 or try applying for asylum (which is almost impossible to get nowadays). ALSO to apply for asylum you need to be either inside the US or at a US port of entry. Try to be less “patriotic” and more empathetic. People flee their countries because of war, violence, cartels, gangs, terrorism, etc. They are desperate and want to protect their families and have a better life. If you were in their shoes and staying in your home country put your family in great harm you would have done the same thing. People need to stop judging, stop being selfish and start leading with empathy.

The US is the 4th largest country, China is 3rd. Canadians know geography, Americans don't.

So here is a taste of the flood that happens in the US. \nPersonally, I blame media and government in Latin American countries. I think Canada’s proximity to the USA desensitized us to its problems. Canadians have a long history of defining themselves by the fact that they are NOT American but that doesn’t shield us from the fact that we have some growing to do. To me the biggest problem of people of African origin is not racism. Infact if you called a child who knows colours very well and ask that child to mention the skin colours of that panel there will be brown, pink and barge. Back to my point, people of African origin have failed to be honest with themselves thats the biggest problem. The biggest problem to solve is the family problem. African men and women majority have failed to raise up responsible children because half of the time they are absent from home. Don't tell me they are absent because they have to look for money to feed children. Let us tell our children to stay away from gangs, be at home latest by 6 pm, start recording high grades at school meaning they will be spending much time with books, wait to have sex until they are legally married, start opening businesses and build corporations like Indians and Chinese do. Then this racism issue will just disappear on its own. As long as people of African origin continue to possess the mentality that other races owe them a good life, the problem of racism won't end. I live in Africa and am an African but I see my brothers and sisters North America or Europe majority live very careless lives. Yesterday I was listening to BBC news a chief police officer of African Origin saying on average there were about 65,000 murders within the African Americans community annually. Where is racism in all this. Can't we be ashamed of ourselves. When last did you hear of such statistics in Asian communities in America or Europe. I agreed with Prime Minister about systematic racism but in my view thats not a priority for the African communities. Number 1 is raise responsible children and not weapon fleaks. Number 2 raise responsible children. Number 3 raise a responsible family then we can sincerely address this racism issue because if there are no trouble makers from our homes but only graduates, business owners, responsible youths who do not abuse substances then if we are treated unfairly it can be vividly seen that someone is discriminating against our race.

No offens but the original people of North American are brown people and we all came from Africa and as time pass and people moved doesn't mean you can forget the people that call this land home and you ripped away and stole my people from Africa to do your labor without paying us so next time you tell someone to go back to there Countries why don't you listen to your own advise. That's why Reparation is SO IMPORTANT for Afro American descendants of North American Slavery, so that we can buy or rent to people that exactly want us there or buy a home in the neighbor of our choice. The Black economics is under the poverty line and the United States of American owe us REPARATION FOR THE ATROCITIES THEY HAVE AFFLICTED UPON US. This is one of the ways Black people can survive.

I was arrested with my then partner, because we matched the description of Native Americans in a brown pickup truck, yes I still to this day have “armed robbery” charges on my record 34 years later. Just last year my granddaughter and I were in Target, when I noticed a guy following us around, I asked ‘ “why are you following us around” no answer, but filled us until we were done shopping and left the store, he followed us right out the front door!

This happens all around the world, in the USA the Cubans are well known within Hispanic community that they (Cubans) once they get the LPR (Green Card) they leave the US and go back to Cuba for more time the immigration law allows to be out of the country as a LPR (six months) meanwhile they claim SSA without have a real presence in the country, without work record, then relatives get the welfare benefits (money) and send it to Cuba this way this well educated citizens pay their expenses without working also happens with South Americans.\nThis is a real problem that it looks like the government do nothing to fix it.

I have no problem with skin color or race. I do have a problem when I go to the doctor's office and cannot understand half of what the doctor is saying to me. I do have a problem when I call for technical service and cannot understand half of what the technician is saying. This is frustrating. If people with another first language want to work for American companies where communication is a big part of the job, I only wish they would speak more fluently. I had this very situation this morning. Called for service, could not understand through heavy accent. He was getting very frustrated with me. If I went to another country it would be up to me to learn to speak that language. I dealt with this in the hospital...and in this setting it can be critical. I spoke to the Chief of Residency because of a potentially harmful situation and was told the residents all meet their requirements for English. well, whoopdido...that did not help either of us when a patient was going south.

American here. The way Canada spells colour and centre is technically the correct way. Rather than color and center. Because that’s the way the language was invented. Us Americans changed it for no reason.

At least two more differences between the US and Canada (I'm a Montrealer myself with American-born parents):\n\n1) When going to the different parts of Canada, they feel that much more different from each other (in the buildings, highway signs, etc.) than the different parts of the US. For example, British Columbia feels like a foreign country compared to not just Quebec (the most obviously different province in Canada) but also compared to Nova Scotia or Manitoba, whereas Washington state or Minnesota is less different than Pennsylvania or Massachusetts.\n\n2) Native Americans (or First Nations, as they're called in Canada) make up a way higher proportion of the Canadian than American population, though less so percentage-wise in Montreal or Toronto or even Quebec City, and they are thus much more in the consciousness of the average Canadian than the average American.

There’s really only 3 big cities in Canada, Toronto Montreal and Vancouver. Which are completely different than all of Canada. Toronto is very similar to London England. Whereas Montreal is really similar to Paris. Not so much in architecture, but in terms of people, life, style, slang. Lots of people in Toronto listen to toronto artist and UK artist as well whereas Montreal residents listen to their Montreal artist and French artist from France. Most of the similarities here are actually not like any American cities. America to us seems really “white” there’s not lot of diversity there either. Toronto is so diverse, People from literally everywhere its so nice to see. Our Prime Minister also a lot better looool

Canada? We speak like Americans but look, we say ''EH'' at the end of our phrases. That makes us sound Canadian. If you think that adding a stupid word at the end of a phrase is creating an accent, its an insult for all the countries that have spend centuries to develop an actual accent that makes them sound different from the others. I was born and raised in the US but I have been going to Canada for my entire life. I live here now because of college and I love the US a little more because that was home. But where I live in Toronto, is pretty diverse. Canadians are nicer but so are Americans but are more racist down south. Canada's government is led by a real leader but the States is led by an idiotic annoying orange.
