They knew the rules before they applied to come here on a TEMPORARY visa. Now that their visa has expired or is about to expire, they want to change the laws to accommodate them.\n\nJust like India has laws regarding immigration, so does Canada. Go back, apply for the proper visa and when Canada is ready to grow and our infrastructure could handle the influx in people, then we will accept you.

If you come to Canada ?? on a temporary visas and marry, you should leave Canada to pick up your papers. If you marry you shoukd get a temporary work permit fir 2 or 3 years to makevsure the marriage is kegit and the sponsorung spouse has to sign off on it to make it permanent.

As a Chinese immigrant, I have to say that Canada needs to evaluate the quality of new immigrants. For the past 20years, large amount of Chinese immigrated to Canada, 50% of them are wealthy, and brought millions billions of dollars to Canada, especially a lot of rich students who are willing to consume and pay taxes. The other 50% are not that wealthy, but they are working hard while not breaking the rules. Most importantly, they don’t take shit on the beach, and they are afraid to break laws!

See in another perspective, if Canada improves their high speed trains and buses, more people will visit more places, dying mining cities will revive etc. If you can reach within one to two hours from far cities, people working in Toronto will look for far places to live. Regarding Brampton, our councillors don't know what is needed for this City. Go and check Kennedy Road from Queen Street to Steel. There is no development. No university in Brampton. Easy to complain. But there is lot development needed in Brampton.

Not so acurate information. During the college time students can work only 20h/week. Unless it has changed. \n\nAlso, it’s IMPOSSIBLE to get permanent residency before graduation because you need Canadian experience (full time) for at least 1 year in specialized areas. \n\nOnly if you successfully complete your program you get the full time work visa per 3y. In this time it’s going to be possible TO APPLY for permanent residence. \n\nBut not only that. Canadian experience give you extra points in the immigration program, but also a Bachelor’s degree, or a master degree, work experience in your back country, English level, and age. \n\nI don’t know for certain countries if the rules are different, but as long as I know, it’s the same for everybody. \n\nWhen I came as an international student, I had to prove the college was paid, also show I had enough money to support myself for 1y without work. Also, the program at college that costs $4000/semester for a Canadian student, it costs $8-10.000 for an international student. \n\nMy work visa (during college) allowed me 20h per week working only. \n\nTo get my study visa approved I had to show intermediate English, money, work experience, Bachelor’s degree (I have also a master’s), and explain why I wanted to study in Canada and why that program was related to my current career. \n\nTalking about jobs; I have worked as a housekeeper in a hospital (on weekends). I am sad about everything that is happening now. \n\nSad for Canadians and the new generation of students coming with improper planning. Some can't even speak decent English. Some are not interested in studying and getting local degrees. No solid long term plans. \n\nSome of them have no respect for local culture as you mentioned. Rude and unruly behaviour has become a common site in some areas. It is expected that most Canadians will come to detest all that. It's only natural. I can't stand it so how would they, who have never been exposed to that? \n\nDuring Covid, govt let students work FT, they let them come without asking for proof of sufficient funds to support themselves. Because of that, many people brought their families and the spouses were allowed to work as temporary workers. \n\nAll this was to be a temporary arrangement but people moved in droves without considering the possibility of things changing. They figured that between two jobs, however small, a family could survive. Sadly, not true. We already have a crisis at home and this made things even worse for the locals. There are low income families here as well. Things like Covid and the war has affected Canada badly. \n\nGovt failed to make it clear that the lifting of work restrictions for students was a temporary move. People also got carried away. In the end, everything has become a royal mess. As I said, it is a sad situation for both sides.

Many students from India don’t have funds to study abroad. Universities got hooked on international students and Tim Hortons got hooked on cheap labour. The entire Canadian system is f’d up. While a lot of what you have said is true, we do not agree that these are people from varied areas within India. To clarify, it is 75% Punjabis+Sikhs, 24% Gujarathis, and the remaining 1% distributed from all other parts of India. Indians have shown themselves as the most uncultured of all the population across the world. The lady is not wrong about the pooping incident.
