I wish I wasn’t Canadian sometimes because of the influx of migrants that put too much pressure on our limited ability to integrate them. Partly due limited housing, especially on lower income supply. I know it’s not their fault for trying to get a better life. My recent exposure to the new wave of immigrants many are uncultured when they first arrive, Also adding stress to our failing healthcare system. Some are scamming the employment & welfare system, and get more financial assistance from the government than the people born and raised in the country. I’m embarrassed at the failure of Canada and its government to give not only the Canadians good governance and proper quality of life, but the new migrants whom we welcome the ability to not just survive but thrive. Personally I believe that immigrants should be forced away from the densely populated areas to the other provinces and territories that actually require their skills and expertise.

For most professional except IT your education is not valid or you have to go through very length process of validating your education and getting in main stream to get the job some time it takes years of continuous job like effort. Salary structure is garbage compared to USA. It is impossible to find an affordable house or apartment which you can rent, forget about buying.. Tax system is upto moon. Apartments are high in price bc there is not enough housing and people will just pay whatver a landlord is requiring bc they have no other choices. We also live in a capitalist dictatorship where everything is based off what ppl will pay for it. Ppl will pay for outrageous prices by getting roommates bc that's better than being homeless. So many ppl need housing that a lot of apts are on the wevsite for only 1 or 2 days before being rented. The real problem is actually wages. Housing has gone up with inflation. Property managers still have to pay for things when they are broken or even for cleaning an apt after someone moves out. All of those prices has gone up, so its not like Property managers are raising prices to screw over ppl. They do it bc the cost of everything is going up. The real problem is wages are not going up.

Education has become only a business with priority being making money... instead of focusing on what kind of education ur actually delivering....it's also almost a similar scenario in India as well....only stringent regulations can improve the situation

I am a Canadian and lived in the US from 1980-1992. I was a teenager and I enjoyed all the places I lived there. Mass shootings were not yet common though we did have a disgruntled employee with a gun on campus during my time in college. No one was actually shot.(This was in a very small town.) I did not get sick in the US. I have lived in Canada since then and enjoy it here too. I enjoy not having poisonous animals in the area where I live. I don't like the winters, and every winter I wish we could re-draw the border and make it go north and south! I have used the medical system up here and have been very thankful for it. The past couple of years with covid I have been especially glad to be in Canada because I preferred our response to the situation over that of the US. Most of the people in my workplace were not happy about it though and I believe 2 or 3 families actually moved to the US once the border re-opened. They like the feeling of having less governmental control in the US.

I absolutely understand any actual or potential parent, who would never assume to move to the US, because the amount of victims killed or injured in that 'type of event' in the US is higher than the amount of victims in the entire world outside the US.

Both counties are similar and I love most Americans. But the health care costs and the right to carry guns does it for me. Here’s the thing, you are like a fish that is unaware that it is immersed in water. You defend the States in a way an abuse victim thinks what they are experiencing is normal. Trust me when I say people living outside the U.S. (even ex-pat Americans) look at your country with horror even while appreciating visiting your sights or admiring certain customs. You are inured by the conditions in which you live. You are defending your country without being aware that it really could be quite different and many things you see as normal are only ‘normal’ in the States but are actually quite awful. I suggest living abroad to see your country the way the rest of us do. I believe it’ll be quite an awakening.

Canadian s always complaining about USA but it is probably the number 1 place for us to visit. Border crossings are often jam packed. Children getting shot being something that actually happens is fuel enough for Canadians to not go to the States. I spent many years there when I was younger.
