It is true. Ontario HAS the 2nd best schooling system. That is because my teachers are nice, and the schools are not crowded. There are only 2 bullies in my school.

Nova Scotia has many plusses, but it also has gigantic minuses too. Apartment rental prices in Halifax are as high as those in Toronto and rents in smaller towns are also very high- especially in relation to salaries. Nova Scotia has the highest provincial taxes in Canada but with very little to show for it. Around 100,000 Nova Scotians do not have a doctor at the moment and the list is growing not decreasing. Public schools are overcrowded and have very high class sizes- Nova Scotia teachers are the lowest paid in the country. If NS has the best schools in the country, then Canada is in big trouble. Yes, the province did have less violent crime than Ontario or Quebec (property crime has always been around the national average), but that is changing with the increase of 'new comers' in our cities. Fights/Assaults have always been a part of life here, but stabbings used to be non-existent. Now they are common place in our province. Just keepin' in real. It is still a pretty place, but perhaps it is better to visit than to live here.

To all parents and students who are dreaming to study and live abroad please, research about college and see the credibility. Students who are coming after high school going abroad for higher studies please go after bachelor for your PG course. Even a tough guy and girl at such a tender age may not be able to take mental burden. In India we are all protected and guarded and never worked till Bachelor . Have some work experience stay away from family for at least 6 months and see if you can cope with change. This will help you to understand and learn to adjust on your own. Life is not so cheap to give away like that. Hope it helps .

The income difference based on skin color is based on level of education and jobs chosen, NOT some skin color. This is why if you break down the income difference based on the countries of origin, black immigrants from countries with high education levels such as ones from Nigeria have a higher average income compared to the rest of the population, even though their skin is as dark as any black person. \n2. I suggest you visit Richmond BC, Surrey BC, or Vancouver Downtown, so many successful Asian and brown people there. In fact, white people are moving to suburbs since asian immigrants are buying up expensive realestate in big cities like Vancouver and Toronto. Still RaCiSM? \n3. Whites (especially white males) are the only group in Canada that can be openly discriminated against in hiring and school applications, as diversity quotas require a minimal number of women and non-whites to be chosen, over whites (and men)who may meet the criteria. Everyone needs to be treated equally, and solely based on their abilities and qualifications. \n\nAnyone with a half a brain can see that it is better to be a non-white person in Canada right now than other way around. A friend of mine who has a happy life in Africa wanted to move to the UK for her kids universities but its like the voice of God said no. And she obeyed. I am happy for her cause she has a home and kids go to private school and she can go to church. I said to her every where in the world is not perfect so running doesnt help. We can only run to God UK or not. Each environment has something to offer but instincts are critical in saving a person during these times.

This video is spot on! My parents and I immigrated to Canada when I was in high school and I loved it at the time. My parents always complained about work and money and wanted to go back to India but I didn't understand why they were so negative. After I started working, I moved to the US to pursue more work opportunities and now I have been living here for the past 10 years. I always consider moving back to Canada since my family and friends are there. However, I don't see myself doing so for some of the reasons you mentioned in the video: high cost of living, overwhelmed health care, and the cities are a bit boring for living or traveling. The US is by no means perfect and has a lot of the same issues that Canada does (high cost of living, taxes, healthcare) and its own set of problems (crime, uneven school quality, political divides). However, for the time being it's a better fit for me which is why I continue to stay here. Ultimately I feel that everyone's experience is a bit different and they have to go through their own priorities to figure out if a move to Canada makes sense. This video is super helpful in providing context for people who are considering moving though!

I agree, u can’t easily have the same profession u had from ur homeland. Still need to upgrade and it’s not cheap. Going back to school is quite expensive. If u have family and children to support, u would rather work and grab the job opportunities around even not the kind of job u wish to have. U have to work hard here just to be able make ends meet.

Did someone pay you to perpetuate the LIE that Healthcare in Canada comes out of people's taxes? That's certainly the impression that you have created. BE CLEAR. Each Province has its own universal healthcare which is funded - NOT BY TAXES - by a premium paid similar to regular insurance (except there isn't anyone skimming profits off the top). For example - the Ontario Heath Insurance Plan - OHIP. As a pensioner, my OHIP premium in 2014 was $98 per year. In the US I pay 12 x 167 = 2004 - over 20 times the amount AND I have to pay the first $4,000 of cost myself. Yes, you have to WAIT after moving to Canada before you get full coverage. As a Canadian, if I came back to Canada I would have to wait 6 months before my health insurance kicks in. BUT if this were not the case sick people from all over the planet would flock to Canada for free medicine. As for the Doctor shortage that is CREATED by the Canadian Medical Association limiting the positions available in Med schools. Nobody loses their house and goes bankrupt in Canada because a family member gets sick compared to about 700, 000 Americans per year who suffer that fate. AND no children die in Canada because their parents didn't have Healthcare. As for immediacy of service - it depends on how serious the medical problem is. Few, if any, people die in Canada because they were seriously ill and were told to go home and take Advil.

ALL students regardless of their status - only EVER choose a school that has PROVINCIAL designation to issue student loan funding - doing that acts as a quality assurance step, even better - only take PROVINCIALLY LOAN ELIGIBLE PROGRAMS, even if you have no intention of taking loans out. The provincial and federal gov will never issues loans to a program that is not got through accreditation.

Enjoyed the video and well done, but a little disagreement. I wouldn't advise moving to Québec. Born and raised there, speak french fluently and had a good life, but it`s not the best deal in the country. Taxes are incredibly high and you get very little quality services in exchange. Unless your french is excellent, you basically can' t live a normal life outside Montreal. Everything will happen in french outside Mtl. Infrastructure in Montreal is third world level and management has been corrupt. Hospitals and schools are bad, for the most part. Consumption taxes are high. Most alcool and weed is sold by the province and very expensive. Gas is expensive. So, despite a decent economy and median salaries, your purchasing power is pretty depleted. Many areas and cities are not very vibrant or interesting, but you can also find many lovely cities around the province where a good life can be had.

You're not correct about the Quebec government banning the hijab - actually they ban all forms of religious expression in clothes worn at work by public servants - so don't criticize us unless you get the facts straight. All countries are facing public health crisis especially in the aftermath of a global pandemic, you mention how long it could take to get an MRI - weeks/months, but it's no worse than in the UK, or other western countries. I do agree with you about limited competition in banking and tech - but we're still a young and growing country, however, look at the global recession that took place in 2007 - Canada was least affected by mortgage default, the US was hit the worst and hundreds of thousands had their homes foreclosed by the Banks, yet in Canada because of our strict banking policies we were saved and the Banks worked with defaulters to try to keep their homes. Taxes, well most countries require you to file your own taxes at the end of the year - what's so strange about that? Yes sales tax is added onto the sales price depending on what province and what you are purchasing, same as US, just because it's not the same in Europe doesn't mean it's worse! Listen, when you're a newcomer to any country you need to fit in when looking for a job, put in the effort, take the time, do the work, any country is going to expect you to be able to speak the language and know the lingo, so I don't agree with your analysis that Canadians are risk adverse! You are 100% correct about the housing crisis, listen it's been going on everywhere for decades, and international investors in the past 10 years or so woke up and noticed that Canada was a great bet for investment, so the problem got really bad. The government just passed a 2 year moratorium on non Canadians buying real estate - as have many other countries, so fingers crossed no more new foreign landlords just regular Canadians buying their first homes, let's hope so!! I've lived many years in Europe - and I loved it! But the quality of life in Canada is better. If you don't live in the crowded city you can have a nice property with lots of space, good roads, not bad school system, very friendly and helpful people. Quebec has some of the best food on the North American continent, we have clean air and lots of water in Canada - I'm very happy here, so don't be so negative please!

I recall back in the early 60's a school friend and his family PLUS over 60 families who had emigrated to Canada from Holland decided to move back to Holland. I saw him a few years later and\nhe told me the vast MAJORITY who had gone back to Holland were back in Canada. This was in Edmonton.

My sister went to Canada to study animation because it was a quarter of the price, faster, and had better employment numbers than our schools in America. Everything went very smooth, she got steady employment that was willing to sponsor her visas and a reasonably straightforward path to dual citizenship.\n\nWhen we road-tripped up to Vancouver to get her settled, her landlady got upset with us when we pulled out the tools and started to adapt for her a custom bedframe riser. When we checked in to see what we had done wrong, we found her crying on the porch. She said her parents sent her away to Canada without guidance, help, or compassion, and that she was homesick still even 25 years later.

One moved out west as job options outside of Montreal and Quebec City are VERY limited for non-government work, and then one remains in Quebec, though plans to leave for reasons above and some more personal/family related ones.\nPlus when you go east of Montreal and the townships you find A LOT of separatist supporters.\n\nThe list would be VERY different this year with some political going-ons. Ontario's rotating issues. Quebec trying to 'considerably discourage' English at all in the province (as well as being the REASON we had a children's cough medication shortage...) Alberta struggling from a crippled energy sector (not just oil, but all thanks to the Federal government) and BC's pending drug policies and related issues.

The job market is sealed shut and glass door awaits. My Canadian, academic job experience was good enough for the UK and Switzerland/Liechtenstein. Funny fact, recently I got invitation to apply for a job in Canada as suddenly I am good enough. Of course no one ever invited me to the network so networking is not. Even funnier I was interviewed for a job but when I saw rent for 1 bedroom in Toronto I withdrawn my application.\n\n I was told old building in Switzerland are bad. Maybe. LOL It's funny how when you talked about minorities earning less and then only showed the black population statistics. Asians and Indians are a minority, yet someone end up as the highest earners and are overrepresented in medical school, engineering and accouting school. \n\nI feel that there is more to it than just being a minority or having coloured skin... A lot of it is just individual responsibility, and the lack of it may be more common within the black population for whatever reason.

Whether religious or not, any weapon in campus is unacceptable. Either you get an open exception from local government using your community on the bases of religion or stop carrying this. Yes when I was living in Canada, I couldn't even find a general practitioner. Then when I finally found one, he was a guy right out of medical school who couldn't even recognize acid reflux syndrome etc.
