It made me really sad to hear stories like this when I went to school. We had 3 Indian students in our class and I became good friends with one of them. He was 16K in debt with the recruiter that sent him here, and was expected to pay for his brothers upcoming wedding. His dad used to be a farmer but he was disabled now so his parents couldnt contribute anything. He worked 3 jobs and lived in a house crammed with 6 international students. He is now back in India and married with a beautiful baby, but I dont know if he has paid down that debt. I worry about him

This is a clear bullshit by the indians. India has the best of schools and colleges but still indian people want foreign eduction. these fools should be taught the things in a tough way otherwise it wont go in their thick head

Religion or not, school is a ground for learning and no weapons should be allowed on campus. Its not to disrespect any religion but to show that its a place for education and education only

This is what it's like when females ever middle Eastern countries & are asked to cover their hair & if they don't they are IMPRISONED!! He wasn't even arrested he was detained until they could gather more information & then let go. I think that is only fair. With our current climate of school attacks they take ANYTHING even perceived as a weapon incredibly serious. It shouldn't have to be like this & I feel for this young man. Better to apply to government or public school for India students there are many countries to go if the school conduct classes in English international school are very very expensive

School also need be responsible why over booking of seats didn't inform these students cannot afford to stay there school need to compensate so is the agency but I don't think India will do anything to agency

International school is very expensive at every country the problem is the agent must make it clear to the families and students but if suicide rate are high not good

I know a family that sold everything to send their son to Canada for school, he ended up committing suicide, he couldn't work full time to support his family due to that his father died for lack of money to afford an adequate medical assistant. he committed suicide 4 days after his father's death.

Hmmmm, why has the birthrate been lack luster for so many decades. Why has born and bred Canadians living on the streets, no home. Why are kids failing in schools and college students are brain washed. Why does Canada need so many more immigrants, when the government can not take care of our citizens. Those and more questions need addressed before we lose our way of life. All part of a universal government control, by destroying all memories of a free society. They don't care about the quality of life. Schooling is down, health care is down, security is down,...etc. Canada no longer looks like what it used to be.

Our cities are at capacity now. It's gridlock everywhere. Where are these people going to live ? We don't have enough housing, schools are full, transit is crowded, hospitals don't have enough beds. ?

I love that we have simultaneous housing crisis, school placement crisis, AND labour shortage. And that we have fully a quarter of the population foreign born and yet still a labour shortage. SOMETHING is clearly messed up in the numbers, our selection processes, or both. These crises should not be able to co-exist the way they do.

These immigrants are coming to fill out the lowest tier jobs ie THEY WILL BE NET USERS OF THE TAX SYSTEM. This means less funding for roads schools and hospitals with more people using them. This is the dangers of turning a policy (immigration) into a piece of your identity. Because anybody who questions this logic will be instantly shot down as a racist. This is essentially welfare to big business because they don't have to raise wages if they can import some kid from India to do it for minimum wage whilst keeping cost of living sky high for the rest of us.

Infrastructure deficit for housing, schools, health care etc cant support that level of immigration. But its an easy way to suppress wages.

St.Lawrence College is such a good school.

Even top school in canada sucks compared to mediocre university in UK. Compared to india forget it. Top school in india provide way better in terms of quality but very tough to get into

I did come to canada via a top school so my path was different, but for many that is not the case. Intense competition in india means , those who are not competitive enough india apply for other countries.

Shame of this shady colleges but really one would think that if you going to study abroad and spend a lot of money on it you would do some research on the school you want to go and program you want to study

From residential schools to exploiting international students creating these multibillion colleges who lure students to Canada and exploiting them financially and mentally. Canada is just using people as Cash cows to build their economy strong just in the Name of eduction . This needs to STOP! .Period!

To be fair, why not the prospect student with a parent come to Canada for 2-4 weeks, check out the campus, ask around (current enrolled students). Second, stay and study in India, become a dr or a pharmacist (3yrs in India, Philippines etc vs 8 yrs in the US), any medical field and transfer over, being done since the 1950’s -ongoing in 2022, any dummy can pass the ECFMG, then start a residency.\n\nDubai has American universities (recognized no diff than physically in the US), Harvard and Michigan state are a couple examples. Victoria College in Alexandria, Egypt (possibly poorer than India), been there forever, AUB (American University of Beirut) recognized as an American college. Protest to have the Indian government to make US schools attractive for US universities to open campuses there. Private universities in the US (Catholic Jesuit colleges, Norte dame, Loyola, etc) charge the same tuition if ur a local or from South Asia.

At a time when Internet was at its infancy and not available to all, I had researched, applied (snail mail), and came to Canada in 1995 as a foreign student and attended a public college for 3+ years, including co-op. This was 27 years ago and it surprises me that with the wealth of information at our disposal today, there are folks who are still being taken for a ride. People need to smarten up, but often times, I find that it’s the shortcut attitude of many which allows a system like this to exists. I feel sad for these students and their parents, but if you truly want to have a full-fledged Uni / College experience in Canada, then stay away from these for-profit private colleges; apply to a school of repute.

Just marry a local canadian then you will get citizenship and pay less for school.

I do not understand only one thing and thats the Indian people obsession with Canada and USA, I mean going there and letting your parents pay huge amounts of money and selling their lands and breaking their back for your school fees to enter some low level college or university and in the end not even sure if you will succeed. Instead you can go to Europe ( a lot of countries to choose from ) much cheaper or even free in some countries, all you have to do is learn the language (for it to be free) you can have a good life, cheaper and safer than US or Canada and after you graduate you can get a good job with good pay, even get permanent residence or citizenship.But still 99 percent of Indians wanna move to US OR Canada,UK aswell and in some cases Australia.
