I would NEVER move to the US- ANYWHERE - between the batshit crazy, political (fascist)-racist-religious fanaticism, crappy private education in many jurisdictions not to mention the guns and the absolutely disgusting attitude towards healthcare (it is only good for some things, doesn't include a lot of what we get covered here in Canada and if you lose your job, you lose your coverage). The ONLY good thing the US has in advantage over Canada is the currency exchange and there isn't enough of everything else in the US to make up for that!

Yes, they are quite valid. I wanna ask if you both have left Canada now. That will decide my next question

Canadian here - I've lived and worked in NYC and graduated university from Gonzaga in Spokane. I wish the US won the war of 1812 and Canada was part of America. I think Trump is unpleasant but Trudeau is worse. The legal system here sucks. The RCMP are soldiers not police. I'd move to the US in a heartbeat. I like the gun laws there and hunting wild pigs down south would be fun. Maybe I will one day spend more time there.

yet making money in canada sucks compared to america. I want to move to usa just to make money easier and not have it mostly taken by taxes and living expenses being much cheaper in usa

Thanks so much for these information. I have been following you for quite a while. My question is that my wife is a Nurse who applied for Alberta Nursing board registration. Now she has been approved to write ENCLEX, an Entry exams. But she has to come to Canada through Visiting visa. Do you think is adviceable for her to come visa visiting visa. Thanks

In India posh area are also same like Canada nobody knows how are living in neighbors

Honestly I think that the political parties support immigration in Canada is because they have a direct economic benefit to it with high housing prices and so they allow more and more people like cash-cows to come in Canada.

I’m a Mexican software engineer. And even though higher salaries and the ease of TN visas are tempting, I’m thinking that going to Canada with express entry is the way to go for me

Are they mostly moderate or high skill immigrants?\nOh wow, nvm\nWow that's a lot of money, especially if you're immigrating to the USA!!!! :O!!!!!\nTy Canada for helping to be a stop gap for the USA lol

Secret weapon to do what? Destroy real young Canadians chance to ever own a home or start a family? American’s immigration policy should be more strict. Canada’s a lost cause and will be majority Asian in the near future. This is just anti-White bigotry being pushed by the ‘’’banking class’’’

Canada is basically a 3rd world country now.\nIncredibly expensive, no doctors, no housing, massive rise in crimes and drugs.\nCanada in nicknamed Chindia.

I was born in Austria in 1950. We immigrated to Quebec in 1951, grew up in Ste Agathe des Monts, 1 hour north of MTL. Married a lovely American, two grown boys, have a wonderful life but would rather be living in Canada but my 72 year old life is here now !!

I thought it might be possible that you found an echo chamber, so I did some quick Googling. Apparently about 2.5% of Canada's immigrants are American, while 2% of America's immigrants are Canadian. Given the approximately 10-1 population ratio, that's a lot of Canadians moving to the US. I guess the Canadians who would move to the US don't hang out on Reddit.

Why do these refugees take it for granted that Canada is somehow responsible for their well being once they claim to be refugees, Canaca already has a robust refugee benefits for those who are persecuted in their home country. But, to think Canada should welcome them with open arms and open all doors for them to live comfortably they should look at ordinary struggling canadians and lower their expectation.

Then stop letting so many FKN immigrants into Canada!!!!!

having spent a far amount of time in the USA for business something I noticed a long time ago is coming across from you and how you see your country and I believe it has to do with NEWS sources. By that I mean what I found was given what city I was in at the time would determine the news I was given on the tv. Basically your news you receive daily is not the as someone in another states, meaning your view of subject matter is scewed according to how it is presented to you. \nIn Canada news is basically presented the same across the entire country, with far less local interpretation of the event being talked about.

PS we're called Hollywood north. The same without the trffcing and more pay. \n-also I can be unemployed and pay no taxes and i still get healthcare in Canada. We don't have to work to see a doctor without getting billed. Thats the difference. Canadians are born with the right to healthcare vs. having to work or pay (probably both) to be diagnosed then pay for treatment separately. Healthcare is a universal right which is why visiting foreign tourists are treated in hospital the same as Canadians.

German immigrated to France. I could live in Canada, but never ever in the US. Reasons: Integrist Evangelists, healthcare, female healthcare, racism. Bookbanning. Trump and all his crazies. Guns and safety. Culture war. They give me a bigger soda there than here? Ok, keep it, I ll stay with small drinks

I always enjoyed a visit to the States. Not now\nMillions of people worship Trump\nThat tells me millions of people are as crazy as he is\nLove travel within Canada and the U.K.

I would be back in Canada in a flash if my children weren’t settled here. The politics, gun culture, religious extremism, healthcare costs are unbearable. Having said that, I have a good life but miss my culture and that Canada generally puts people before greed.

When you seek Asylum, it is from the place you came from and in this case it is U.S.A. which is a first world country. You cannot seek asylum from U.S.A. that is not how asylum works because I came to Canada 30 years ago on asylum and I applied via Canadian embassy in that country.....it took 4 years. Ten years before I got here asylum seekers when allowed to come were on contract to live and work in Winnipeg for 4 years before they can leave province.

2022 *OECD* data comparing educational attainment outcomes around the world ranked *Canada* as 1st with *62.0%* of Canadians, age 25-64, holding a Post Secondary (tertiary) 2-year diploma or 4-year degree (68.4% women; 55.5% men); 31.1% of Canadians holding only a Secondary School (High School) diploma and 6.9% of having only a Primary School education level.\n\nThe *U.S.A.* ranks 6th in the world with 50.1% of Americans, age 25-64, holding a Post Secondary diploma/degree (54.3% women; 46.2% men); 41.4% of Americans holding only a Secondary School diploma and 8.3% having only a Primary School education level.\n\nIn the Post Secondary (tertiary) 25-34 year old age group, Canada ranks 2nd with *66.4%* (75.0% women; 58.0% men) behind S. I’ve been to the U.S a couple of times, not in the last 15 years though. The times that I went I really enjoyed it and found people to be very friendly. Americans that I have gotten to know who live here in Canada or have been visiting, I have also found to be quite friendly.\n\nAs I type this you are talking about the importance of making sure you move to an area in the U.S where there are like minded people, like mined political views etc. that’s such a strange concept as a Canadian, because we don’t really have to think about that in terms of where we would live in Canada. \n\nMaybe you should come and visit us here in Canada? There could be certain limitations that you have become used to living in the U.S that you might start to see more clearly when those limitations are not there.

The problem with Canada's economy is simple. The problem even has a name, which is Justin Trudeau. Every moron that voted for him should take a good long look in the mirror and know that THEY are the reason Canada is imploding right now. Seriously... wtf did they think was going to happen when they voted for a person who's cumulative life experience was working as a drama teacher for 2 years before being forced to resign for having sex with a student. We have a complete idiot running the country who has completely sold us out. His net worth has gone from $5 million to $385 million since he became PM.

You say school showings aren't that bad. Search school shooting canada total ever, then search America school shootings this year.\nAfter that search mass shootings by country. \nThen you will realize why Canadaians don't want to move to the US.
2023-07-19 0
I would never move to the US for all the reasons mentioned. The US is a great country, but it’s not for me. It’s not Canada. I❤??
2023-07-19 0
School shootings don’t happen only in cities. That’s the scary part. They could happen anywhere in the US. In Canada I have never been worried about my kids safety at school. Our mindset is the total opposite of Americans when it come to guns and “their rights”.

US - the problem is when there are obvious problems you have a system that allows big money into politics, which allows for lobbying, which in my opinion is legal bribery. The idea that politicians had ( or have ) NRA ratings for supporting openly guns and not implementing the most logical of common sense gun control. \nHealthcare - in Canada, not having the healthcare tied to your employer actually makes Canadians a more free country. There are a lot of Canadians in the arts ( musicians, painters etc. ) that have the freedom to pursue any employment that wish, and not worry about the health benefits. \nIt kind of surprises me that you were surprised about school shootings. From what we see, that is not happening all in big cities. Sandy Hook was the worst. To think that Congress didn't do a thing after that, is reason enough not to want to move there.\nAnd Donald Trump has soured my wanting to ever even go there on holiday. Unbelievable that after two years, so many Americans believe anything he says, when he claims that he won in 2020 with not even a ounce of evidence to the contrary. There is not even a theory that would explain his claims. The mistrust of Americans with each other stems from people like Trump and Fox news. \nI think as you said - Healthcare alone is enough for almost any Canadian. I don't know anyone that owns a gun, I don't know of anyone who has gone bankrupt for being sick, and I never worry my granddaughter going to school and being shot.

Drake, The Weeknd, Pamela Anderson, Justin Bieber, the list goes on, and Canada's Medical System is FREE! Every Citizen is treated the same. The Hospitals are operated like a triage, worst life endangered cases are seen first in the Emergency Room and Meds are dirt cheap.

You may want to remember comments on the internet don't necessarily represent a broad spectrum of the political spectrum. That said my wife who is from the US prefers Canada. Also we have lots of guns in Canada we just don’t tend to use them on each other.
2023-07-19 0
The number of mass shootings in the US in January 2023 alone is higher than the number of mass shootings in Canada during my entire lifetime (and I am over 30 years old).

I split my time between Canada and the US. In the 1980s and 90s, there was very little difference. Far right extremism was left in the most fundamentalist churches and if any of it made it to the larger public sphere, it was either laughed at or ignored. All that changed with the rise of the Tea Party movement, social media, and now MAGA. Now, far right extremism and the Christian theonomy movement are mainstream..sucking in about 1/3 of the country down the rabbit hole of rage and just pure craziness that's just taking over more and more.\n\nI'm looking forward to being able to move entirely out of the US before it's too late. Hopefully I can do so before the 2024 election, but it seems unlikely.

59:35 I personally think this is just personal story where a lot of circumstances lead to this situation and things might be like this earlier but now post pandemic and especially in 2023 things are so much better, nothing comparable to canada in terms or ease of PR but if one follows right pathway of what the govt. is looking for PR is super easy. A friend of mine age 20 being a Nurse got PR right after graduating with 0 work experience in ADELAIDE. They don't need accountants why would they give PR to them? I understand nursing is not for everyone but there are more such occupations too.

Go and live in India where Sikhism was born out of vaishnav religion followers family. They made this Sikhism religion to protect their Santan dharma (Hindu) vaishnav relatives and community family members. Pakistan killed tortured all their people many times and almost finished their population in Pakistan and these so called Khalistanis from Canada Australia and US are taking money from Pakistan to destabilise India . Punjabi sikh community support their mother land India then these few Pakistan fed and western Khalistani traitors destabilising India . \nGuru Govind Singh ji loved India and all Sikhism born out of sanatan dharma ( the ancient civilisation religion was given name by middle east people as Hindu). \nToday fed by Pakistani ISI money these people are trying to kill their family members in santan dharma .
