The Canadian government has not updated it's Stats so what New Comers see when they look up housing prices and labour market. It still reflects 2016. They never let those coming here know how difficult it is to get their credentials recognized or the lack of housing. So a Dentist or a Director from a University end up working at Super Store. Also, as soon as they arrive they are told these short certificates that they take will get them an excellent job when in reality it's a cash grab and they don't end up getting hired anywhere as the course and school is not recognized. Totally ripping them off. Basically we have set up a system where a nurse from another Country can't even become a care aid. Ridiculous how many road blocks there are. And then of course there's the lack of housing not just the price. (I am from BC so this is coming from a BC perspective)

I had exactly the same experiences in 2002 when I went(and came back) on PR to Canada. Getting into a proper paying job in your own profession is the most herculean task in itself. The necessity of a car due to extreme harsh weather most of the months and then initially affording only a basement with mostly indoor activities during non-summer months takes a huge toll on one’s mental well being. Most of the jobs are regulated in Canada so getting an equivalent clearance and compatibility for a job is no easy task at all otherwise you’ll end up doing only sundry manual help jobs around which too aren’t available easily. I found a lot of positivities and possibilities too in Canadian life but then be prepared to sacrifice a lot for many years and then maybe you realise you have a lot more to loose than gain! So as this blogger said Go to Canada first on say a tourist visa to friends or family, stay and spend some time and money too and then make a long term decision to come and stay forever or not. But in the meantime don’t quit your job or business back in India till you come to a final outcome?

Most of the homeless people are born in Canada while immigrants who came to Canada are generally more succesful. These immigrants have to get citizenship and have to work ten times more than the people who were born here. What's wrong here? More and more things are being delisted from our healthcare coverage, meaning that I often hear of people getting charged out of pocket. I was surprised 3 years ago when my doctor ordered a cancer screening after I was suffering a digestive issue. I was not prepared to pay out of pocket for something as essential as cancer screenings. This sort of thing always used to be covered. It was always covered by our much higher cost of living and our higher taxes. If my taxes keep going up, I expect services to get better, not to decline like they have been. Our seniors are afraid to go to the doctor these days. Suicide is being offered to them instead of proper care and treatment. After they had spent decades working and paying into the system they are being shut out.

Filming in Public is a Crime especially when you film the police and show their tyrannical behavior. They will come for you and hunt you down and charge you and make up all kinds of lies try to financially destroy you throw you in jail. The list goes on there’s people that are called Auditors they go out and film these people to show transparency. Every last auditor in Canada has been charged and arrested and lied in financially despaired the list goes on just go ask the rise in the falls. Its funny when people talk about the quality of Canadian health care. For example, BC Cancer is one of the best in the world. Canada is on the cutting edge of many health care procedures. Yes, its hard to get a primary care physician but that is because the US is throwing enormous amounts of cash at Canadian doctors and nurses. Canada still keeps up pretty darn well especially when considering Canada has only a FRACTION of the US population and much fewer resources and funds available. My family has never suffered from our health care system in the past 60 years. 1 family member had a quadruple bypass - no bills 2) cancer - no bills 3) emergency c-section w air transport to city 400 mils away - $360 for air ambulance 4) emergency appendectomy - no bills 5) Heart atttack w stint - no bill 6) MRI and CATscans - No bills 6) 3 ADHD diagnosis w mental health care support - no bills 7) industrial accident with crushed hand - no bills 8) Electrical accident with burns throughout body - no bills 9) burns from an oil fire - no bills 10) fall into fire pit w subsequent 3rd degree burns on leg - no bills 11) leg amputation from type 1 diabetes - no bills. And then there are all the little things that happen day to day. In each event, we received top notch care and services. So, you might earn more in the US but we save more in Canada and very few suffer from it. A lot of complaints? Most bad experiences are shared whereas positive ones are not. I think if people on both sides really looked, the US health care fails many more people per capital on a daily basis than in Canada. US insurers are known to abandoned people when they become overly expensive and its not unusual to not have choices in drugs or care options.

ahh, i always thought the US had similar system of Immigration to that of canada's, according to the time frame shown in the example, it'd probabaly be faster to go to canada, get PR, get canadian citizenship, and then go back to the states for higher wages than wating to go through the whole process in the states, you also get universal health care if you are willing to wait, sometimes a uncomfortably long time

There is A LOT of silent racism afainst Southern Europeans. Your facts about the BIPOC community experiencing racism is a falicy. Canadian Universal Health Care does vary from province to province as to what is covered since health care is a provincial responsibility and it only covers residents of the province, so if you are coming to Canada or travelling to different provinces within Canada, check your insurance to find out if you would be covered and consider getting health insurance before travelling. Otherwise you might get an unexpected bill. \n Auto insurance only cover injuries from auto accidents.

Accurate. I was born in B.C. but moved here when I was 3 years old. I'll say this Toronto always had a level of crime rate so be careful of your surroundings. Crime rate dipped down in 2002. In 2018 moving back it is worse than ever before. A city that wants all the chiefs but how does one simply live here on the minimum wage bracket. If a city has a minimum wage said citizen should be able to afford rent. Ergo professionals could then afford upscale neighbourhoods. Toronto has always been expensive but this is not do-able I might go back to British Colombia if this gets worse over the winter. Ontario you lose another Canadian in this metropolis.

Since the conservative government of the 90's, Canada is a colony of the US. Any really successful Canadian company has been bought by a foreign corporation, likely, American. The few holdouts are hanging on for dear life. Head offices in the US, marketing, US, legal, US. IT US. You don't have to wait in the US for health care because a lot of people can't get any health care service becaused it is too expensive. If you are out of Canada for more then 6 months, you are no longer convered by the Canadian health system.

My husband is from China, Im from Hong Kong. We both came around 2000, at the time houses were cheap and affordable. We met and married after we became Canadian in 2004 and the same year we bought our first house 4 bedrooms 3000sqft near Fairview Mall. Our first daughter has now just graduated and we plan to fund her on her down payment because we know it's not affordable on her own. The price has gone up not double, not triple or quadruple, but 5 times what it used too and not even near centre of the city. Canada housing is now so bad my husband regrets giving up his Chinese citizenship at one point luckily Hong Kong allows multiple citizenship and we can still go back and settle when things get worse. Sucks for my kids who have never had much experience outside of Canada so they will need to learn and cope for better or for worse.

Canadians have to pay for our own medications, unless we're covered by private insurance for them. There are very few exceptions to this, like chemotherapy, which can be *grotesquely* expensive. \n\nBut we can also get them a lot cheaper than you do in the states for a variety of reasons.

Nice candid video Tyler. I have a good friend (a Jusey Gurl) who moved to Canada like 20ish years ago I think mainly because of an ex. I think she appreciates the health care as well with my talks with her over the years. She and I've been thinking this lately that Canadians have either changed or that Canadians are more friendly stereotype is going down .I think with more immigration, the cost of living and frozen pay and higher and higher taxes Canadians are increasing discouraged with politics and Canada in general. You noticed many of the woman mentioning health care and social programs as well? Police... We have a lot here as well maybe more so because of pay. The police are well looked after and paid well here. I think politics are getting more polar and more divisive here as well. I've been here from August 26th. I live in Saskatoon. Found a job in 8 days, I didn't have a career back home, except for being a mechanic, saftey guy and 2 more diplomas. I started from ground up working at grocery shop, paid the bills, smoked that good weed, can video call my family everyday, hanging out with the boys and chilling. \n\nBut I understand how most people who had a career back in their home is having trouble getting the exact one here. The pregnant woman, the reason she probably moved back is because all Canadians get paid maternity leave for 1 year, and I think extended coverage you can get up to 18 months, after having a kid. It's not your full pay, but a good chunk of it. As long as you were employed for a certain time before giving birth, or reaching a certain stage in your pregnancy Im not sure EXACTLY how it works. America you get 3 months off... unpaid. Forcing most parents with no benefit from work to struggle financially just to watch their kid, or hire expensive help, and have a stranger watch and raise your 3 month old for half the time.

Canadian here - lived in the US for 5 years, moved for work and then quickly found I was in golden handcuffs and had way less job mobility due to my healthcare being tied to my job. In Canada there’s so much more freedom to grow professionally. Moved back because of that and also culturally I missed the community feel. Also - the politeness, even something as little as ordering food in the states bugged me. No one says please or thank you - it’s ‘I’ll get a number 4’ instead of ‘can I get a number 4’ - pretty small difference but once I noticed it I couldn’t stop.

Hey there, you fine American... Just to let you understand, our system is FAR from perfect, but it's still easy access and quick service IF you don't need a rare specialist or a not so rare one). The thing is, it's ALL priority based, so if you wait, it's because someone needs your resources even MORE than you do. Sometimes, it ends up in a tragedy, but MOST times, it allows for the neediest to get it first. \nAs far as having children here, we have a NEGATIVE birthrate, so our government PAYS us to have children. My son grew up in Quebec, and they have a double everything. Double taxes (not that bad after the tax deductions and credits), but they also Double the safety net and services, compared to the rest of Canada. Not only was childbirth free, so were the pre-natal courses and everything else, AND we got around 1000$/mo in childcare benefits, until he turned 18, with full of tax credits per kid. Plus, daycare was 5$/day back then, it's 7$/day almost 20 years later.. Pretty citizen friendly. \nThings MIGHT be changing though. Our conservatives are taking their talking points from the US GOP since COVID, and they are all-in to please their Oil lobby overlords and donators out in our prairies region. I’m currently living in Canada and have lived in the USA. I can safety say the health care system sucks. I had to take my wife to the hospital because of an eye infection, we had to wait for 8 hours to be seen, the doctor was arrogant and sent us out in 2 mins. We had to travel to USA to get treated. Some can say you don’t have health care completely in Canada, the housing is completely expensive here, govt artificially limits supply of housing and drives up housing cost, the pay is less in Canada compared to USA. The Canadian PM is bigger joker compared to other world leaders.
