1 US has 50 states that function like countries. You can choose a Liberal or Conservative state to live on. Canada is all liberal, no options to choose. Point for USA \n2 Housing is expensive in Canada. Housing is also expensive is the US (liberal state) but also cheap (conservative state). You have the option to choose. Point for USA. \n3 Migration is discriminatory in Canada (based on points); if you are a poor, old or non educated, have no chance. USA does not discriminate. Point for USA. \n4 USA has more family values and more respect for religion. Point for USA. \n5 Gun rights prevent any country to have dictatorships like Nazi Germany, Venezuela or Russia. Point for USA. \n6 Health care. USA is too expensive. Point for Canada. \n7 Work-Life Balance. 40 hours a week is the standard work schedule for both countries. You are not obligated to work more than that in the US. It's a tie. \n8 Parental Leave. It depends if you ask to workers or entrepreneurs. I prefer the point of view of entrepreneurs because they create wealth and jobs. Point for USA. \n9 Education Cost. USA is too expensive. Point for Canada. \n10 Summary: USA is the winner.

Canada still requires people to have an education of at least of what is required to obtain a job. All immigrants in the USA walk in and expect to be hired just because they are non white, education or not. You young lady are ill-informed.Telecom in Canada is expensive due to extent of territory and the low population.(as the population expands,prices go down) 2 major banks just went bankrupt in the USA and people lost their life savings,you will not see this in Canada as the government not only garantees a part of your savings,but closely monitors the banks.As for homelessness it is not a Canadian thing as you say, it is worldwide.(There is not ONE SINGLE COUNTRY in the WORLD that has not that problem to a certain extent.)As for doctors while it is true that there is a shortage,any true emergency or serious illness wil be treated swiftly and you will not go into debt for it.Maybe people should learn to not bother doctors for their hangovers and little stomach aches and thus liberate the space for real illness

An important factor as always been for me the different of murders, mugging, rapes, theft, people killed by firearms each year up to 38 000 a year in the US, add other types of weapons, and many more. In Canada we have clean water, lakes everywhere, we have so much more good timber for building, land for farming etc. The cost of health care in the US and schools can easily ruin them, their parents and families. Canada health care is mostly free for everyone, although seemed slow by many, but is it slow or are they worried to see a doctor to realize nothing is wrong with them ?? Going to see a doctor for a cold, a bad night sleep etc are not really worth a doctors time or theirs. The education system in Canada educate their citizens, watching Youtube videos about Americans being asked common questions like : Which 2 countries border the USA?? Sadly most are morons and think it is Europe and France LOL Parents and children's have a way better time when they give birth and spending time with their families ;-) You might get better pay in the US, but then you have to worry about getting shot, robbed or killed, get your car or stolen, house broken into etc. Plus add all the scammers and scams in the USA, that citizens, non citizens and politicians and city officials and even cops do, no thank you.

All countries have issues. If it doesn't sit well for you, it doesn't mean it won't sit well for another person. Well ,there it is than. I live in the Netherlands and as a Dutch I can tell you we pay also a lot of tax compared to our salary, but public facilities, healthcare, roads, buildings and almost everything else is insanely well arranged. But I wonder, I often see that salaries in the USA and Canada easily can be 80K-150K for 'normal' jobs........well in the Netherlands by far most people do not make 50K a year before tax. So if your are complaining in Canada that the taxes are so high, than there is no other explanation that in the basis goods/services/utility bills are much more expensive compared to your salary right? Great video, I really like this country explainers :) One day I will visit Canada for a nice holiday trip or so, we still have I believe some distant relatives from my grannies side but I am not sure, old people :)

The main disadvantage of leaving Canada is having to pay for your own health care in other countries. If you don't have insurance in another country, you will have to pay in advance before they treat you. It could bankrupt you, especially if you go to developed countries like the USA. If you study in a foreign country, you pay extra as a foreigner for tuition, sometimes double what a citizen will pay. Remember, it's not always green on the other side. If you just want fun, schedule your life to spend time for a great break that ticks the boxes for you.

I moved to Canada in 2012. I used to love Canada as even with $11 per hour job was more than enough to survive (during studies, part time job). I used to live happy life. But, since Liberal government was elected in 2015, things are going crap. Just between 2016 when I signed lease of 1+1 apartment for 1140$, in 2019 it was getting rented for $2400. Prices went up for house and lots of things. Liberals had messed up affordability that most people in Toronto region are living paycheque to paycheque. On top of it Carbon tax in hide of saving environment which literally not working out, is killing Canadians. \n\nAfter living in Canada for 11 years, I don’t see this country has any good future overall. Our banking to technology sector everything is outdated. World is moving so fast, Canada is not able to catch up. I am looking for easy was to get green card of USA, the country which I hated, it seems USA is far better. I have many relatives in USA, I asked around and it broke lots of my stereotypes about USA which I had developed living in Canada and from Canadians. Even met few people who lived in Canada for 10-15 years and moved to USA and living there for last 5-10 years. Worst decision of my life was choosing Canada in 2012 for easy immigration. My classmates who chose USA and moved there in 2012 are in much better position career wise as well salary wise and they files are also in progress. Living lavish life with great weather, while Canada is depressive as hell.

The figures don't tell all of the story when it comes to physician salary comparisons and tax-to-GDP ratios, for instance. The availability of doctors in Canada being damaged by the attraction of the USA is just part of a global phenomenon - professionally-qualified people will go wherever the money is best, so less-developed nations lose medical staff to richer nations. The UK effectively steals a lot of medical staff from the Philippines and sub-Saharan Africa, for instance.\n\nI notice that the UK is listed just above Canada on the tax-to-GDP table, but government spending is waaaaaaay higher than that (more like 45% and heading for 50%) and honestly to my knowledge the UK has had tax-to-GDP figures above 40% for many years (even at its lowest during the past 50 years it's probably never dipped below 35%). I don't know where the figures in that table came from, but I bet that there are some shenanigans behind them. For instance, the UK personal taxation load is heavily weighted by taxes on goods, but big companies often pay very little tax themselves. Ireland is an even more extreme example of that phenomenon - I note their relatively-low placing on the tax-to-GDP table. Multinationals see Ireland as a tax haven these days.\nLet me be clear - I'm absolutely not a a fan of socialism and fully advocate for lower taxes and smaller Government. Yes, I agree on some of the comments like; silent racism, cost of living and also about the dark history about Indigenous kids disappearance in catholic school.I know am 10yrs old but not too young to talk about it, same time I cannot ignore about what I see and experience (current affairs)! Every country have their pros and cons. Yes, USA might have better offers then Canada. I m not judging anyone or any country just sharing my experience’s For example: My family gad trip to windy City of Chicago US in December of 2022 with my parents and younger sister, before my visit I assumed that we will enjoy and have fun during trip but it was quite opposite “compared to what I see in Toronto” more homeless and addicts bullying pedestrians for money and when we had problem with ATM at bank the customer service was unfriendly and rude to us ( my parents having Asian background) people just degrade when they are from other culture: it is not fair to talk about Canada just because how a Country and it’s Governments works…. The big difference between both countries, is that it is slow and harder to find jobs in Canada, in USA you find jobs of all type right away. about health services , Canadian one is great, but in USA, if you are ilegal, or unemploye or if you dont have private insurance the goverment pay your bills , it is called Medicare, it is for low income people. So both countries have different systems and both work well.

Hi, I’m a Canadian living in the USA. Pros and cons for each. For hard workers and entrepreneurs,you will undoubtedly have success- USA is where most of the big companies have started, and small businesses do well, too. Americans work very hard and not everyone is suited for that type of lifestyle. My second point may be a little controversial. As a retiree we have Medicare which covers major medical- hospital and doctors at a rate of 80%. The additional must be paired via private insurance that is optional or out of pocket. We have chosen a good supplemental policy that allows us to make our own referral to specialists- with a waiting period < 2 weeks. The point is that you can choose what you want. No waiting!I know that people in Canada who wait a year to see a doctor in a non emergency situation! You will say that it is expensive,but people choose not to prioritize medical care and instead purchase luxury items etc. what I like is the choice. I don’t want to not be able to see a specialist when I feel I need one!! I like \nChoice!

This is such a heartfelt and honest video. Good job man! But I would expect immigrants from the UK or Asia in Australia to strongly defend their choice ? Weather-wise, Australia beats Canada — maternity leave-wise, Canada beats Australia hands down. Australia is pretty isolated compared to Canada …mostly because Canada is next to the USA. Australia is overpriced in terms of groceries etc. and the extreme weather in Canada makes life expensive. Many Canadians move to the US for a reason. Australia is terrible with family reunions and visas for parents etc. There is a reason over 1 million Aussies prefer to live and work elsewhere — including myself — I was fortunate enough to get my PR in the US.

I'm currently living in USA and visited Canada back in 2019. I loved my time in Canada overall and it felt more racially diverse, safer, and cleaner than my home country. However, both countries have similarities in vibe, topography, background and culture.

Housing in Canada is in the millions [limited ground space] 2-3m for the land alone...USA, you can buy a new house with a pool for $255k. Canadians, you can keep your free (not free) health care system and I would choose USA. I lived in Canada for 40yrs yet all my longtime, close relationships were Americans. I moved to the UK as we Canucks are not allowed to leave (just retire in usa for only 6mos). However, London is not British anymore and so you get a lot of reverse racism here, buts it's about 6x cheaper than Canada. Summary: Nowhere is perfect.

That's so funny and true at the same time. Sadly, I was born in the falsely advertised 'Best place on Earth, 'Canada' and therefore, cannot claim asylum in any other country, so I will pass away alone in hospice with 5 other dying strangers. Luckily, I moved away just in time through the UK ancestry scheme and live my dreams with my partner I met in a home we bought in a city where I don't have to look at the price tags as I know it's already 6x cheaper than Canada! However, there's a catch in that you can only go back as far as your grandparents to use the Ancestry Escape Pod, so if your grandparents were born in Canada I wish you all the luck and who knows, maybe you'll eventually merge with the USA and freedom and happiness is yours. Life is better on the outside. I moved 15yrs ago and never look back. I calculated a week to visit my siblings in Canada costs the same as 6 months worth of mortgage payments (my share).

I think most ppl have to remember it’s a British Colony we still pay the Queen(kinda embarrassing) Usa had seen this problem for more than 200 years ago. I am a Canadian living in the USA the last 8 yrs. I would not move back to Canada. The cost of living in Canada (GTA) is significantly higher than many major cities in the USA. The only thing that Canada has an upper hand on is the universal healthcare. I am sorry guys this one I do not agree with you all.

I’m from PG County, Maryland, and have lived in Alberta for 14+ years (family is Canadian)… Canada does feel safer, however I miss the sheer amount of “choice” you have in the states. Whether it’s airline, mobile phone company, places to shop/eat, USA just had wayyy more to choose (obviously because of the larger population). USA and Canada each have pros and cons. Generally, I don’t see a massive difference though.
