Canada' more open immigration system is a great bonus for them relative to the US that being said they can't capitalize on it if they don't build the housing and transportation access to support the newcomers. New housing units are trailing incoming immigrants by a lot.

Mexico and all these other South American countries need to build up there own country economically and politically , South America can truly be a global power , but it will never happen because instead of building your own country ,you leave to be third class citizens in the United States ?

The Government of Canada recently issued a 'travel advisory' for the United States travel because of random acts of violence with no pretense that you can protect yourself. I've heard of 'travel advisories' for certain States, but this is the first time I've heard it for the entire U.S. anywhere. In answer to the question: No. Too many guns, too many gun owners, too much religion pumping out hate and bigotry and too much arrogance.

As an American living in Canada for almost 50 years, there is absolutely no way that I would consider moving back to the US at this time. The political environment has become so polarized and, quite frankly, I'm really worried that democracy is in jeopardy in the United States. I echo the sentiment of all those who have said that the gun culture, racism, misogyny, and lack of equal access to healthcare are all excellent reasons to avoid moving to the US.

The United States should be ashamed, we in the US shouldn't have to put up with illegals. The pregnant woman knew that the US would not let her suffer, she is about to have that baby out of an illegal body and she knows the soft a** US will let her stay. The ask the US to turn a blind eye to breaking the Law. Biden is worse that I've seen in my time. Gave all of our money away, and he's trying to go to war to keep from being impeached. We have no jobs already. Their not made to speak our language, they also don't hire anyone but their people and no one says a thing. Immigration need to do their jobs. There are already huge numbers of Canadians who live in the United States. Just sayin, even though I lived in the states for a year, I would never ever move back there.

It's great having health insurance through your job as long as you have a job. I would never consider moving to the U.S. due to political, social, and safety reasons. No. Never. Given the state of politics, gun violence, mass shootings, suppression of rights (abortion, etc), I could never live in the united states. I find it hard to believe that a third of the population adores one of the worst humans alive and might even re-elect him president, if he is not in jail by then for his role in January 6 and the classified documents cases. My last visit was in 2018 to Bangor, Maine and through northern Vermont and New Hampshire, and it was depressing. Lots of shuttered businesses and homes everywhere. I won't be visiting the country any more. Europe is a much more enjoyable (and safe) vacation.

They are letting these people in where they don't belong and this marine who fought for America can't even get the help he needs for housing and everything else this brave man deserves everything he needs but lives on the streets in Connecticut!! lived in Peirce County(mostly Tacoma) WA State almost my entire life. I just wasn't born there. I was born in Kennewick, WA, state. I have lived in a couple of other states not as long as I have lived in Peirce County Tacoma Washington State. I have only lived in Seattle, WA state since 2014-2023 that's only the past 9 years. I never had a driver's license except of 2002 in Guthrie Job Corps Center Oklahoma. I never renewed it. I also never owned a car. I have earned a permit only in Washington state, and Alisha Badger allowed me to drive her car with her in it because she was allowing me to drive. The last time I owned a driver's permit was 2007. I never had a bad driving record. Only 1 ticket for speeding, but Alisha Badger and her husband payed it that was 2007. The only other USA states I have ever lived is Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, and Georgia in my younger years. I'm 36 years old and I never left United States of America ??

I would go and live in some of your dry warm climates in the winter. I did live in Colorado for four months and 87 and 88. It was a little town called steamboat Springs. The people were incredibly friendly. They were very kind. if I had the ability to come and go as I wished and not be bound to it, I would live on and off in the United States. I lived in the US; Virginia for 13 years. For the most part the people are lovely... just like a lot of places. If you treat people with kindness; they usually return that kindness. At least that is my experience. Mind you, I came home in 2006. When I lived there the political climate was completely different. I would absolutely NOT move back to the US. When I came home to Canada; I was so grateful because I had to endure 2 years without Healthcare when I really needed it. I lived on pain pills at that time. I was in a wheelchair by 2008 and so grateful that I was home where my country took care of me when I was unable to work, or even walk. \n\nPolitics has changed so much since then. It was always kind of poler, but when Donald Trump entered the scene; it has become just awful. Again, I love the Americans for the most part, however there is so much racism, homophobia and hate displayed in the country right now. As a Canadian living in north western Ontario at the north west of lake superior about 50 miles from the boarder. I would move to the United states if given choice of state like Alaska, Montana, and maybe Texas. no real reason i can enjoy guns here but not all the guns i would like to own are legal in Canada anymore for weird reasons, and if it was the states of my choosing i would still have enough free space to get lost in and enjoy nature with fishing or hunting. If I couldn't pick were i lived in the US I would say not at all do to the vast differences in culture state to state county to county and even times down to street to street.

Listened carefully to everything that was commented on and I too was a little surprised by what I heard. Being from southern Ontario actually near Buffalo and I am close to the USA but I am glad to be in Canada. Many of my friends go to Florida for the winter. They state that they will politely listen to the politics but never chime in with their opinion. The american political situation is very much like the religious situation with the Irish and the Northern Irish Catholics vs the Protestants. Your political separation borders on insanity. The current republicans lie through their teeth and keep repeating those lies. Listening to the Irish is equally exhausting. When I travel to the United States I am always glad to be home when the trip is over. While in America, I find most people are wonderful and we are always treated very well. If the Republicans snap out of it and the gun lobby loses their grip on the narrative that everyone needs a gun I think the attitude of Canadians might change. One thing for sure I am very happy that big brother is right next door and we will never have to deal with what the Ukrainian people are going through. In that instance I am glad that America keeps improving their weapon systems and their innovations and mass military production. \nI am sure there are many lovely places in the USA but the media focuses on the bad news of the day where violence and shootings and political insanity dominate news. Meanwhile most Americans are enjoying their lives in peace.

I've certainly given thought to moving to the United States. Washington had some beach-front homes for around 450k... I also considered buying an acreage in California to start a wildlife rehab for endangered desert dwelling antelope. Turns out poop from animals that don't eat much is a pretty good way to reduce desertification... or at least I was willing to try.

I never want to move down in United States first of all they don't have free healthcare they don't have free medication while some medication and their food does not taste like ours I've tried their Pizza Hut that I found was totally disgusting they're McDonald's was totally different also lots of flies in this in the restaurant around where they make the hamburgers and that they're washing very filthy women's washroom overpopulated and you never know when you're walking on the street when you're going to get killed by a gun at least where I live it's a slower pace it's starting to become crazy with the homeless and people that like to make trouble but they're still not that much guns because we don't allow it it's more safe we can still walk on the streets without anything happening happening even at night where I live it's a slower pace the air quality is also better it's not muggy as much as the states a lot of places people here are more friendly but just like it here I was born here

There are a lot of people up here jump to the shootings as a reason and as much as there is gun violence down there, we aren’t better. I live in Surrey and people are shot every day here. Just to touch briefly on the guns subject. Canada has quite a lot of guns relatively. Other than the United States, Canada has the highest guns per capita in the OECD. However, gun licensing, regulation and distribution along with various policies and cultural dynamics help in reducing mass shootings and school shootings.\nIn fact , Canada has only ever seen about a dozen school shootings in the last 50 years. Just to put that into perspective if a Canadian student were to attend an American school for a couple months, they are more likely to have a school shooting in those couple months than their entire K-12 education in Canada. I think that's why a lot of Canadians were mentioning their childs safety.

I grew on the border of Ontario and Northern New York State and have spent lots of time with people from the Southern United States and generally the people are very polite, on the surface. Unfortunately, as you get to know people you find out that many have some serious biased opinions on things that we in Canada have always been more accepting of. The last few years it’s been sad to see these views start spreading to our beautiful country. After Donald Trump and the rise of right wing conspirators the US is the last place I would want to live.

I listen to a lot of American radio and media and I hear frequently a lot of Americans talking about how this day and age how sad it is that they have to worry about their kids going to school.
